The FISD Master Armorer program is an optional, detachment only incentive award to recognize individuals who have directly helped another 501st stormtrooper to achieve Expert Infantry status. Some people spend countless hours helping others, and want to reward their results as well as incentivizing new people to help as well. To register a “win” in the program, the assistance must have provided hands-on help trimming, building, and/or fitting of said armor for the person who was awarded Expert Infantry status. Other program notes: • Helping remotely, giving advice, or taking payment in exchange for help does not account, all work must be voluntary and without expectation of compensation. • The assistance must be for a period of 30 minutes or more. Spending 15 minutes tweaking someone’s fitting or taking photos does not count. • "wins" can be retroactive, e.g. if you helped 5 people in 2017 already, those can count as long as they are fully documented. Award Levels • 5+ “wins”: FISD Armorer Badge • 15+ “wins” FISD Senior Armorer Badge • 25+ “wins” FISD Master Armorer Badge The process • Person applying for the award will create an application thread to track the help they give. • For each “win”, they will list the person they helped achieve Expert Infantry status by copying their EI approval thread. • For each “win”, the person who was helped will validate that this person helped them. Next steps: • Need a badge design. Will be similar to marksman or other skill badge. Questions? Concerns? Please feel free to ask! Looking fantastic pal! I am glad I am not the only one who has to make room inside for that Husky trunk. The New Orleans heat would do all kinds of bad things to my armor. I feel your pain. Keep up the good work. (May Hurricane Irma miss us both)1 point

Yea this hurricane looks like no joke. Hopefully you guys are all prepared. All i need is propane, hopefully i can find some today. And yes, when you are ready go ahead and submit the application on the 501st legion website and then just email the pictures to me or text and i will send them to the GML directly. It can help move along the process quicker.1 point

I have ordered from them 3 times, and the first two took about 20-25 days to arrive.... no biggie. The last time I ordered one I tried to contact them at the 30 day mark. Nothing. No reply to multiple emails. I ended up contacting PayPal to look into it and I magically received a reply from them the next day with an apology, and received my kit 3 days later. They may not pay attention to you, but they will certainly take notice when PayPal gets involved. It;s kind of sad, really, because they really do make a fantastic kit at a great price but seem to enjoy shipping when they feel like it.1 point

So I had a pretty busy bank holiday last weekend trimming my armour and I've now got most of it mostly done, I've got a little tidying to do on some pieces and then some fine sanding before fitting. I did cheat a little and grab Wilko's own version of a Dremel to get rid of most of the material as using the scissors with this 2mm armour was killing me. I reduced the padding in my helmet after some advice from an armourer and it still fits snugly while allowing better air circulation. This weekend, I did some work on a few of the smaller bits so I've now cut the 15mm deep drop boxes, painted my ab buttons and made the TD, I've just got to put the clips on now. Here's a picture of me all taped up with the thighs on, as I was a little worried that they are too long for my thighs, as you can see my knees are completely behind the armour piece itself and that's as high as I can get the ab/cod. My armourers have said to carry on with the kit so we can see it with my shins and ab on properly but any advice for the future for this would be greatly appreciated. I've also ordered everything else apart from my blaster so that should all start arriving soon.1 point

Way back when, (before I was aware of the 501st) I ordered a set of this armor. During my search for the best way to put it together I discovered the FISD and found out that it would not be acceptable for even basic 501st approval due to the fact that (as Mathias mentioned) MOT is a recaster. If you are not familiar with that term, it means that they copied someone else's work. I was really disappointed to find this out, but instead of sending it back I sort of "made lemons into lemonade". Instead of returning it, I used the build threads on this site to put it together and then sold it on ebay as a complete "Halloween costume" in 3 days (and actually made a profit)! Doing this gave me some great build experience and gave me the chance to interact with some great folks here on the FISD, which prompted me to order a kit from AM. Getting a kit from a vetted seller also has the advantage of giving you the chance to join the 501st. This way, instead of keeping it in the closet all year except for Halloween or the occasional convention, you have the chance to wear it throughout the year, (our Squad did over 250 appearances in 2016), make some great friends, and put smiles on hundreds thousands of faces.1 point

The little extra won't make too much of a difference, my ears tend to catch when putting on my Hero version, Stunt helmet not so much, if you can get in and out without seeing blood you should be fine1 point

So I think that should be fine. Also keep in mind that as long as you can get your head in there then it is a win. I don't even have that big of a head and I have to squeeze in. So it will rub on your head all the way until it's on.1 point

I would like to get one. Do you offer technical help of needed? I live about two hours from Munich. This would be my first attempt. I thought about putting this in Fieldmarshalls upcoming E-11. Along with the pwhiteows new display that fits in bulldogs hollow M38 or in the Phoenix props that I am building now1 point

Hi. The guys have said pretty much everything you need to know. RWA kit is fantastic and reasonably priced. I got the acrylic 2mm capped and was blown away. I had the best time during my build. It took 6 months and ross was always avaliable for advice. I think that RWA strength is ross. He's honest, fair and a great guy. The kit speak for itself, it looks the business but it's the service and friendly nature of ross that made me order from him, and I wasn't let down.

Take a look at my build thread on the UKG site. This has lots of photos of the kit and help on putting it together. Buy with confidence and join the empire.
www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=56273
Cheers

Rich

Ps it's great to be part of the RWA trooper club (we don't actually have a club, but maybe we should)1 point
