  1. I will definitely be there for the photoshoot, I'm bringing the banner over as well! I'm also bringing markers so everybody can sign the banner if they want to!
  2. This might seem a good idea, but I really advise everyone not to use Facebook as an image storage service. Social spyware aside, it compresses all images really heavily, and image quality becomes really bad. Just look at the picture posted earlier in this thread. Sorry, but that just hurts my eyes, especially when you consider awesome amor images being butchered like that. The aforementioned Imgur is a really good alternative to Photobucket. But please, anything but Facebook.
  3. Awesome! And first TKC EIB in the Dutch Garrison, congratulations!
  4. Great build! Looking forward to welcoming another Centurion to our Garrison!
  5. No worries Jon, there isn't really a list. Just make sure to show up on time for the shoot, either in armour or perhaps in a fancy FISD Racing Shirt, and you are good to go! Changing rooms open at 7am, ready in armour at 8am, and the shoot itself begins at 8.30am. Detachment photos follow after the general 501st/RL photos, we are the second Detachment on the list.
  6. Shirts have arrived! You'll have to wait for some action shots till CE though
  7. Can confirm! I got a text message with the shipment number and a code for a website where I could pay the import fees in advance. The Dutch Garrison shipment should arrive here on Monday!
  8. Joseph, does this mean the international orders will receive tracking numbers directly from the manufacturer? And if we don't receive one in a week, then we contact you?
  9. I know, I expected you'd be there too. I actually asked after you there But there were enough other crazy NG people there to fill the hole in my heart
  10. Thanks for all the positive responses guys. It was really a great, great experience! Just keep an eye on the Nordic Garrison forums at the beginning of December. This year it only took a couple of days for the roster to fill
  11. Hello troopers, Last weekend we had a super awesome troop at Legoland Billund. Nordic Garrison was kind enough to invite troopers from several garrisons in Europe (and even some overseas!) to join them in this yearly event. This was the seventh time the event was held, and my first time attending. This is one of those events where it becomes very clear that the 501st is one big, happy family, and I'm really proud to be a part of this awesome club. Over a 100 troopers attended these two days, a lot of them of course our brothers and sisters proudly representing FISD. Here are some photos of TK's in Legoland!
  12. Expect a lot of members from the European garrisons to be present, next to those few crazy people from overseas garrisons that fly all the way to England to attend I don't know if there are any plans yet, but seeing photos form old Celebrations some sort of FISD meetup will definitively be arranged. At least a photo shoot!
  13. Ah, the ancient question. For me it's release order for first timers, that way the surprises of the OT stay intact. <br> If I do marathons myself I go with Machete order: IV,V, (I), II, III, VI.

    Rogue One

Hey, at least we still have the awesome new Death Troopers to look forward to, right guys? Is anybody else excited for those new shiny black Death Troopers? I think they look really cool. Hope we get to see more of them in the coming months. From what we've seen so far I would really love to do an RO Death Trooper (I coin ROTD ) as my next build. Are their any amor makers interested as well (looking at Paul )
  15. I don't appreciate your belittling of the original suits, nor labeling everybody who has issues with this new interpretation of the OT trooper as needing to get off their high horses. We are a club that prides itself in attention to detail, of course these new suits are going to get scrutinized and criticized! What 99% of the public sees doesn't really matter, they also wouldn't see the difference between a Ruby and a TM, whereas that would be day and night to many of us in the legion. Some of the changes in the new suits are obviously for the better, to allow someone to move more comfortably in armor and maybe even sit in them (hurray!). However, some design choices make the armor uglier in my opinion, like the sleeker chest and back plate, the huge black band of elastic between the back and chestplate or the weird positioning and form of the thigh ammo pack. Good luck in your endeavor to modify your current armor to look like this one, from the looks of it you would practically need to modify every single part of the armour in a major way. On another note: although I'm not really sold on the new TK look, I am sold on Rogue One. This is gonna be awesome! And my next armor project is the new Death Trooper for sure. Man, they look badass!
  16. Great to hear my building "blog" is helpful for others, Art! Thanks Mark. I tried CA glue and it looks like it holds. Yes! Next troop is this Saturday, and ik looks like it's gonna be a long one. Great test to see if the CA glue really fixed it. My other question still stands though, how can I reinforce my armour? And specifically, the return edges? Normal textile tape won't do the trick, I was thinking of maybe polyester tape or something with fiberglass?
  17. So, here we are again, a couple of months later. The inevitable has happened, I have some cracks in my armor. It survived for 12 troops, bur yesterday evening the first crack happened during a troop. This morning I was cleaning my armor and somehow bent the kidney plate too far, heard a loud crack, and there it was, a small crack... These two are quite small and I hope they will be easily fixable. But then just now something happened and I could smash my own head against a wall now... While trying to take a picture of the crack in my chestplate I stepped on the backplate, and I heard that sound I really didn't want to hear anymore. My backplate now has a crack a few centimers long... I was on the verge of crying just now, damn me! Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys for some tips on how to handle these cracks. Here are pictures of the small crack in the chestplate and kidneyplate: And here some pictures of the large crack in the backplate: How do I fix this, or at least reinforce the cracks to ensure they won't get any larger? Any help would be appreciated a lot!
  18. I think people better prepare to see Luke get a sendoff in either VIII or IX too. They aren't getting any younger. Leia is the only one who will die of old age and off-screen.
  19. Good luck trying to ignore the future Star Wars movies while being part of a Star Wars fanclub Seen the movie 6 times now. Love it. I agree that it might take too much from ANH to really be called an orignal movie, but overall, the characters, action, effects and acting (actually good this time) make the movie very good. It's a great starting point for a new trilogy and a great introduction to the new characters and state of the galaxy. Of course there are a lot of questions, but I really look forward to seeing those answered in the comics and books in the coming months, and the continuation of Rey's and Kylo's journey in the next two movies. For me easily the best SW movie since 1980
