  3. FYI to remain active and a member of each detachment you have a costume for you must log into detachment forums at least once per year (election cycle) A.J. will be along in due course to update your status here.
  4. Hello, I've been a member of the detachment and an approved 501st member since 2016, but I tried to look at a few of the forums and it said I needed to be an active member of the 501st to do so. I'm a GML in the newly formed Minnesota Wolfpack Garrison. Can I get my access re-instated please? https://501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=22724&costumeID=124
  5. That’s what we like to hear! And when you clear that level, I will have EI rockers that you’ll qualify for! Very cool MLB troop so soon after approval! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Welcome, Luke! It’s great to have you and see another TK in the making! Do you already know what type/era stormtrooper you’d like to build? Many of us start with an ANH-Stunt, as that was the very first TK we saw on screen. Regardless of what direction you go, post up all your questions, with lots of photos, and we’ll be here to help you along on your journey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. 41. FLX Pop-Up Expo; 5 May 2024 This was a last minute troop, with confirmation coming in the night before. What was originally going to be a private autograph signing became a very small comic show with half a dozen vendors and us. We agreed to the invite because the guest of honor was Robin Guiver, who was a puppeteer in each of the Sequel movies, among other things. Things were very slow, and very relaxed, so we spent most of the time socializing with everyone there and talking with Robin about puppeteering, costume-making and droids.

  9. 40. May the 4th Be With You Library Event; 4 May 2024 This was my emergency backup May the 4th troop - we originally had three troops scheduled locally, which became two due to a scheduling conflict, which became one because it was decided to use non-Star Wars characters for their Star Wars day (), and the last one became an issue with the weather ... So I travelled down to Starkiller Garrison and joined them the Erie Main Library. [group photo goes here once I get a copy] [more photos pending - I don't have copies yet]
  10. Thanks for the update for us. Hoping to get in before the locked detachment merch sells out. Not sure how long that stays open for but I heard there’s some new stuff posted

  12. Hello and welcome to the forum, a great page full of info for the first timer
  13. This link is to your 501st forum profile, not your membership profile, have a read of the instructions in the first post of this thread
  14. Hello there fellow empire citizens and supports, the name is Luke and no I am not the Luke you are searching for. Im from Riverside California and have been interested in joining the 501st for awhile now as well it has been a family members dream as well to join and support. As a rookie to these sort of things you will probably see me around asking questions and such on how to get my armor correctly made and my updates on how my journey is going. Looking forward to working hard on my armor and meeting/talking to all you lovely people out there.

Thank you for your help Ron! I really could use those items. I really appreciate you reaching out to me!
  17. You could attach snaps, glue plates to armor and run elastic between or velcro or a combination
  18. I think you will be ok with those, you just have to remember that you trim anything touching to allow the non touching areas to come in more. Can be quite tedious as you have to attack this a little at a time. Also adding the "step" will allow the ears to sit better on the top of the ear. ATA's ears are quite thick around the round top section and can be trimmed quite a lot. This is one of the best ATA builds I've seen on the helmet, you can see the thickness of the top sections are a lot narrower than yours You want to follow the helmet, if you run a pencil around you will get an approximate line. You may be able to see that you have more meat on the top of the ear and this needs to come down more. Your trim line around the inner corner of the cheek is not quite in the right spot. Crude but should give you the idea. Just remember what ever is touching needs trimming slightly to all gaps to be filled Compare to one of my ears (albeit I've built a few helmets in my time)
  19. The right one is looking OK. Still a little bit of work to do on the back part. https://imgur.com/PBTUOCy It seems to be the left side that I'm having the difficult time with. I feel like I cut the angle to go up into the curve too soon. Possibly with some trimming in the curved part I could possibly recover it but I feel like if I had another one I wouldn't be spending so much time on this one just to find out in the end that it won't work. Let me know what you think.
  20. Thank you!! Haha the Empire has sent us out a lot on different missions! Living in the capital city really helps with that! Yeah right? We all wanted some!
  21. Congrats on 50!! When did you start full time trooping to be racking them up this fast? ;-) How can that officer be disciplining you when it would appear he is holding a... coffee? That's just not right either. :-) Bart

  24. The fourth is no longer with us... today is revenge of the sixth! Thank you for the kind word Glen. I forgot to mention how much I used the gallery The Celebration 2022 gallery was especially useful - I gleaned a lot of detailed information about the construction of the armour from that single gallery. it heped me to figure out that I needed to make my own shoulder straps, for instance, with exactly 13 large and slightly rounded segments. Also the pictures of the extras resting at Canary Wharf station from Rogue One helped me to see how the armour fitted on actual people (as opposed to the manikin used in the Celebration pictures). Using this I was able to scale the shin and leg pieces properly for my body. Some of the screenshots were useful for getting a good unobstructed view of the side or the back of the stormtroopers: the Alain Rivard armour is missing the raised area on the buttplate, and these photos helped me to size it properly. Talking of which: one thing I haven't quite figured out yet is how to attach the codpiece and the buttplate. Does anyone have any advice for doing this step on Rogue One armour?
