Welcome to the forums Kian.

Here on the interwebs of the FISD you will find all the data available for all things stormtrooper including all of the build requirements and how to achieve higher levels of screen accuracy such as our Expert Infantry and Centurion programs.  If you are looking for advice on your build journey, after you've carefully considered a kit and started on your build journey, you can start a work in progress thread (WIP) where our knowledgeable members will offer suggestons and insight along the way.

Have you reached out to your local garrison to introduce yourself there as well?  You may find someone local who can also help you out.

How can I make First Order Stormtrooper armor that's easy to sit down in?

No armor is really easy to sit down, with my original stormtrooper I can sit on the corner of a table or arm of a chair, if I sit fully down I can't get up on my own.

First order armor has a posterior plate with little bend so you would find it difficult and although the cod can move it won't move all the way for a sitting position.

But is there Armor that is Easy to sit down in?

Not first order armor.

Maybe look at a 1/2 armor  1/2 soft costume if you need to sit, bikerscouts can do just about anything.

Like 1/2 Armor and 1/2 soft costume for First order Armour?

No like a different costume, First Order armor is very constricting and I doubt you would ever be able to sit, pieces would break.

Even this soft version treadspeeder driver would not work as it has the posterior plate and cod which are pretty rigid . https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Treadspeeder_Driver

Hi Kian, and welcome to FISD.

As mentioned, Stormtrooper armour is made from rigid plastic, or fibre glass and not flexible enough to bend or conform to a shape so you can sit down in it, I'm sorry.

Unlike the armour you see on screen for First order where parts are injection molded Urethane which is thick, dense and far more flexible.

The Tread speeder trooper, due to its soft parts, totally allows for sitting, and is a combination of First Order armour parts.

I'm just for armor That's easy for me to to sit down in, plus I'm not sure which Legion to join.

Any Ideas?

Most hard armor costumes you can not sit in comfortably, just the way they are constructed, you may damage trying to sit, you could remove some pieces to sit if you make them detachable.

A soft costume may be a better fit for you if you need to sit for any length of time.

We look after variants of Stormtrooper, the 501st legion are the "bad guys" of Star Wars, you can find a complete list of costumes here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbyname

Rebel Legion are the "good guys" you can find their costumes here https://rebellegion.com/category/costume-standards/

Possibly a Scout Trooper. They like to show me they can sit down all the time. Normally in my ANH TK while resting with my bucket off, I can just lean against something .

I'm just saying that it's hard to choose between joining the 501st or the Rebel Legion.

For most it is easy, many of us watching the movies and seeing Stromtroopers on screen and we fell in love.

If you are not sure then don't rush, look through the costumes and what goes into them, cost is another big consideration

You sound very undecided and inclined towards an "easy to sit" costume.  This was never a concern for me as I have always been a fan of the original Stormtrooper and the Imperials.  There are many costumes in the 501st Legion that allow high range of movement including a seated position.  The TK is not one of those costumes.  Maybe consider a Scout Trooper or Tie Pilot. The Officer uniforms are unrestrictive if you are so inclined.  Good luck on your choice.

I have finally decided to do Captain Phasma because after looking at some pictures She's sitting down.

It is the same armor (with a few mods) as First Order, so you will find the same issues, she may have been sitting as her posterior plate may have been removed.

I would suggest she is only sitting/resting on the edge of the stand, I can do this in both my sets of armor, just not fully sit, like in a chair.

You will see in this video quite a few stormtroopers sitting, as I've said previously it can be done, it depends on your height, it can be very uncomfortable as plastic can dig in "armor bites" is a common term, plus the actors would not be thinking of damaging the costume. Also consider Phasma is a coated or painted costume so you would not want to damage the finish.
