FIVE[501st] Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) So... talk to me about ANH buckets vs. ESB buckets. Why should I have one over the other? Here's my dilemma — as I'm about to repaint ----- I think to myself, "Why not do it ESB this time?" My thoughts are as follows... 1) I like the ANH bucket look better... gray frown etc. 2) I like ESB as a movie better! It's really the film that made me start loving TKs... they seem more "put together" in that film or something. More used... etc. I know I'd have to flip my holster, and I'd have to get new hand plates... and remove the "counter" on my blaster (correct?)... but whatever "else" I would have to do to make it "correct" right now I'm just wondering about painting the helmet. ---------- all believe the gray on the traps is the same... ... or do you think it's more blue... as I've always thought. What about -----in general... would it make a good ESB bucket? Or is it just better suited for ANH? So those are some thoughts. I'm painting tomorrow... A new question now... if I do it would I HAVE to use the "correct" tube stripes? I don't like the white in between... I'm still researching though, so I may be convinced yet. I'm not loving the black frown which is why I haven't gone the ESB way. But that's just my taste. Go for what you like the most. You can always do up another bucket anyway. In the end, I'll probably make one of each. Quote

Actually my grandmother had an ROTJ, but I get your point. -----s don't fit the MR lid, — yet anyway — so I'm sticking with ANH. I had pretty much decided it by this morning anyway though. FIVE[501st] Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 I told Celeste (my wife) how funny it is how I "FEEL" different when I think about ESB troopers... or ANH troopers... ESB = Silent guards... Cloud City... Bespin... sterile... well lit... etc... ANH = Soldiers... Death Star... gray hallways and clean, but not "sterile". Those things are all part of the feelings I get when I think of one or the other... but mostly they're inexpressible things tied to "that time" in my childhood, the smell of the new action figures, the language we had to talk about Star Wars at school, and a whole slew of other things. Interesting stuff... how permeated SW mythology is when you start to think about it. Quote

All I have left to do is finish my canvas belt, get my seconds blaster(makerofthings resin one) and get my TE2 helmet and finish it after this current run in completed. Quote
