Pencap510
Hey all - just a quick question here - I have what I consider to be the "traditional" strapping method to attach my shoulder bells to the shoulder straps. I have a small 1" piece of black elastic that has snaps on both ends- one connecting to my shoulder strap before- the other end connecting to the inside of the top of the bell. You can see it here: The problem I'm having is that when I raise my arms, the snaps at the top of the bells almost always come unsnapped- leaving my bells to fall. Does anyone have any suggestions or other strapping methods that have worked better?? Thanks!
Locitus[Admin]
You could glue the strap to the inside of the bell. You don't need to have that end removed anyway in order to take the armour on or off.
Pencap510
Lol- great suggestion. I spent last few days racking my brain coming up with some really complex solutions- when something so simple was right there- THANKS
fuumantroop[TK]
Use better snaps? What kind of snaps did you end up using?
Pencap510
The heavy duty snaps from Joanns- the same that I used in the rest of my build- just that when I lift my arm- it pulls directly downward on the snap causing it to pop off

They kinda suck. I had the same problem all over my armor and switched to tandy snaps and no more snaps came popping off. -Eric
Pencap510
Do they sell them locally in stores, our order only? That one place is the only spot I've had a problem -- SO FAR Edited February 4, 2015 by Pencap510
PGHtoolman
These are the snaps we use in and around Pittsburgh. We are lucky they have a store close to us. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/1263-15.aspx
Raintrooper
Just glue the elastic directly to the plastic. I used E6000 held down overnight with magnets.
Pencap510
I'm gonna give the direct glue method a try and leave the snap on the shoulder bridge. That seems like it should do the trick
Pencap510
So just got done gluing down the elastic to he inner part of the bell.. Once dry- I'll let ya know how it worked! Thanks again all-

Jane
Probably a daft question, but shouldn't the thumb print be on the left arm?
The5thHorseman[501st]
Probably a daft question, but shouldn't the thumb print be on the left arm? Not a daft question at all. And you are right, the thumbprint marks the left biceps.
Jane
Phew, sigh of relief there because I started to build my right arm at the weekend and used the flat bicep.
