  1. If you're in the UK Caravan cleaner. The stuff they have on offer in Aldi occasionally is especially good.
  2. I've got a Hips Tie kit from The Shed I'm currently building. Andy is great actually, his service is brilliant and he's always been quick to answer when I've needed to know something (though to be honest the Shed gang on Facebook are great at help and advice in general). It's a good pull and I'm really pleased with it. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
  3. My kids are grown up so we don't go out, but I'll probably stick it on in the house for an hour and answer the door wearing it. Should make the little ones smile
  4. Gets worse you know, just to warn you. It was the opposite here, I started then husband mentioned he fancied a scout. Not long after that daughter (who's 18) asked for a snowy. Here we are now with a TK, Scout, Snowy (daughters), Boba (his), Tie Pilot (mine) and a few other home made bits daughter wears like a Leia and a Jawa. Seem to spend most weekends building or tweaking armour or trooping. Great fun though!
  5. Other half was out in town last weekend as Boba with our other garrison. Some old man approached him and asked if he'd mind coming back next week (today) and 'sorting out that ruddy Britain First lot' as they were marching. I was most amused at the thought of Boba chasing them down the street. (for anyone unfamiliar Britain First is a not very nice far right UK political group who often protest in town centres about immigration and the like)
  6. I troop an RS ESB Suit, also visited the guys many times at their factory and I can confirm you'll find a very slick, professional operation there and a couple of guys always willing to put the kettle on if you are passing. I've personally found RS' quality outstanding, as I say I troop an ESB, daughter troops their Snowy and a good friend just purchased ANH from them. They are at present a little bogged under with the Scout Helmet run so might take a little longer than usual to answer emails but spending your money with them wont be something you regret.
  7. Very drunk woman at an event (not a 501st one I add) "Is that a blaster in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?" "doubtful, I'm a girl" She was a bit slack jawed as I sniggered in my lid.
  8. It's an addictive thing. I built the TK, finished other halfs TB with him and daughters snowy and got to the thumb twiddling stage. I've always liked Tie but it wasn't until spending time in a TK that I realised the luxury of being able to sit (something husband and daughter have with their TS and TB). I figured just one more little build wouldn't hurt and here I am waiting for a box to come in the post again Added to this I figured if I have to cross London next summer on the Tube for the celebration it's a hell of a lot comfier in a Tie than a TK
  9. Apologies for the thread resurrection but I could kiss you right now Having successfully built the TK, TB and TS this is the one I'm dreading.
  10. It was very random and impromptu, brought the room to a standstill haha. I love the Cyberman happily dancing on his own at the back.
  11. My daughter (Snowtrooper) went to a con over the weekend and ended up in an impromptu dance off with Darth Vader. Made me laugh anyway. Incredibly proud of her, she turns 18 in October and hopefully will clear soon after. Hoping you can see this. Can't put it on Youtube because the song they are dancing to is subject to copywrite.... Original vid: https://www.facebook.com/mseeventsfairs/videos/847674365282515/?pnref=story Music removed and replaced with random crap
  12. Occasionally I go Jawa and have sounds on a loop through my Aker. They go off probably every two or three minutes but after a few hours my husband is ready to kill me
  13. I'm not the tallest trooper in the world so my chest plate rides over my ab buttons (scratching them every bloody troop). I'd be popping, whizzing and dancing with every movement
  14. Found the thread on UKG, ironically I'd posted on in a few weeks back (blonde trooper)
  15. Thanks Si. I had a feeling AA's were the way forward. I've not been especially talkative in the past, but because this adds a bit of distortion and menace I'll probably find myself having a bit more to say in future. Think I'll nip to Maplin on Saturday. I did have a play with a 9v from Poundland (2 pack Kodak things) and it barely lasted the test. I found a faux leather pouch over the weekend with a fabric lining. I cut away the leather at the front leaving space for the speaker and then just dropped the rest of the kit into it and zipped it. It then hangs around my neck similar to how I wore my Aker. As for my Aker I've now created a little pouch in the back OII so it sits in there with an iPod nano just playing radio chatter on a loop. I'm out with the 99th this weekend so we'll see how it goes Had a quick look over on UKG but couldn't see anything on there (probably me not seeing the wood for the trees as usual)
