Minuteman´s new (and awesome) 1,0 mm ANH Stunt build [*TM]

Recommended Posts

Finally I got my hands on a new set of armor.

And it is not just "a" set of armor, it is TM´s 1,0 mm suit, uber accurate and flexible and glossy and .... white and I like it :)

Okay, the money I wanted to spend on a driving license for trucks is gone for the moment, but hey - I have one of the best armors on this planet.

A big thank you goes out to Paul for creating such a beauty and finishing the job in such a short time, and also to Dr.Senf for initiating this order.

Already got ahold of Newey size 4 hooks and eyes that I got from a guy in Latvia.

Somehow strange. How do those british hooks find their way to Latvia?! Now they are in Germany.

Also size 10 snaps for the shoulders are in my posession, a garrison mate will provide the brackets with nuts and screws (if I decide to go for original strapping), split rivets and cap rivets are bought.

The elastic and fabric has been bought according to this wonderful thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26477-what-we-know-about-strapping-snaps-rivets-etc/

Karins new autehtic line handguards are also in my posession :duim:

As a glue I won´t use steelmax 1985, because that seems to dangerous to me double-left-handed-fool, but I will use the white E-6000 that I found on US ebay.

Some very inspirational threads for me:

And at last some comparison shots of my old AM and the new TM. So to say compare a Fiat 500 to a Rolls Royce :P

Awesome! I may be doing a 1mm build myself in the near future, so I'll take inspiration from your thread inspired by my thread, which is inspired by those who came before us all!

I'll be watching and will add anything I can to help out.

I agree with Germains sentiment though... such a nice suit, you have other screen accurate strapping things, and you consider if you will use the brackets and screws? You gotta do it! It's a great system, and makes sure that each piece is in the exactly right spot. There is no guessing like when you use straps and snaps as to how long the straps need to be, where to place the snap plates and so on. It's all laid out and made up for you.

Both sets of brackets and screws I've built with have come from mrnostripes who does them, and they have been great each time.

Thank you guys!

Yeah - the brackets

If I had the 1,5 mm set there would be absolutely no discussion. Brackets all the way.

In fact I´m just waiting for Paul to answer my question if he has made good experience with the brackets on the 1,0 mm suit.

But for the moment this will not keep me from building, I want to drill the holes and install the screws either way, the brackets can be inserted afterwards too.

So stay tuned ;-)

There is absolutely no problem using the brackets on the 1.0 mm version. ;)

If they break out I can claim refund from the DL :jc_doublethumbup:

Just kidding. So this will be the way.

Sadly my trooper box will need to give way then, because it is to small for the strapped up torso.

Hello Stanley box!
