  1. On that time scale you're going to struggle, local vendors aren't with us anymore to my knowledge. Best bet will be to get hunting for some appropriate black Chelsea boots and crack out the white leather paint. That said I'll have a word with the local armoury team, see if I can find a lead. The way they work is they do "runs". They next open on May 17th until 24th, and then close orders again. They then spend the next few weeks manufacturing everything on that run. This means they can benefit from economies of scale, on made to order products or having to hold a lot of expensive stock they might never sell.
  2. Keep Trooping does monthly runs. You likely could not get one in a couple weeks. If it was about 6 weeks away, it would be no problem. You're looking for model 421 on the keeptrooping website. They're just white chelsea boots though. If you can find a set locally, you can paint with any leather paint.
  3. Below is an amended Nightrooper/R1 CRL. Items known to not be on the costume, such as cod and posterior, have been committed. Please remember this is a work in progress and is not final. 4. Boots. This is the only other point where I hope basic requirements for the costume are also changed (the first point being my mention of basic requirements for tube stripes above). The boots are really difficult to find in general. The long-running tale across the Legacy build threads has been difficulty in sourcing boots that fit the CRL. Folks in 2018 were fortunate to have the run of boots from Imperial Boots (Keep Trooping), and some earlier Legacies used Gio's boots (but it seems some have had trouble lately getting approved with Gio's boots). Those who have built this costume certainly don't need to be reminded of the difficulty of getting the boots, because we have lived it, but I say this all here to document how difficult sourcing boots has been so those not familiar with the costume understand the difficulties. I argue a change should be made to basic requirements to reflect the difficulty of sourcing boots, not just when it comes to L2 and L3. This brings me to a point I read in a different thread in reference to the accuracy of the boots for Version A. The boots on the Jes Gistang statue don't have that tall of a heel (unlike what is currently noted in the CRL). Here's the thread with that discussion: Here's a photo of the boots on the statue (more photos are in the thread linked above): The statue heel isn't all that tall. There is still a noticable heel, but it is much shorter than currently portrayed in the CRL. As I mentioned above, this is the only other place where I think a change in the basic requirements is warranted (and I argue this change would be more important than the one about tube stripes, if there could only be one change). Perhaps the CRL could note Version A could have either the tall or short heel. Keeping the tall heel on the CRL would accommodate those who already wear the costume with tall heel boots, and also including the short heel would allow for greater options in sourcing boots for basic approval. The L2 and L3 requirements could indicate only a short heel. Additionally, to reflect the difficulty of sourcing boots in line with the CRL, perhaps a note could be added to the section about boots to inform GMLs that sourcing proper boots is really difficult and the availability of suitable boots needs to also be taken into account, especially because of variation in sourcing and supply chains in different countries. This would certainly help as a common boot that can be found, and can be modified to include the needed strip from toe to tongue (that is clearly shown in the photo of the statue, as well as currently required in the CRL), tends to be the Chelsea-type boot, commonly with a lug sole and elastic on the sides. After gluing on the strip from toe to tongue, the only sticking point tends to be the elastic on the sides (and occasionally the sole). Some GMLs have allowed the elastic, while others have not (or have required the elastic be covered). I think clarifying language on the difficulty of sourcing boots without elastic sides may help with consitency across garrisons. To review the boots, allowing a shorter heel in addition to the tall heel for basic approval (for Version A of the costume), as well as language clarifying the difficulty of sourcing boots that look like the photos in the CRL, would help address the difficulty many have had with completing the Legacy Fem costume. As far as L2 and L3, perhaps the short heel should be called for as a requirement.
  5. The goal is to get this CRL complete as it's never been done before. I've asked Ingrid Moon (LadyInWhite) and Misty Melillo to lead this. Along with Teresa, Jana, Molly and several others, this is what they have so far. Yes, this is the TFA as the base and I'll make changes based on what they have posted in their GoogleDoc as updates, but wanted to get the base post started. NOTES: 1. This first post will always be the master list. Any agreed upon changes will be reflected here. 2. I will cite any change, e.g. [TFAL2] as something that is copied from the TFA L2, or [Ingrid] as an Ingrid change. 3. Goal is to have this 100% complete by the end of the year. Alrighty, so, let's get the party started. // Helmet *The helmet is mirror reflective and shall not be weathered. *Lenses are smoky brown or gray in color. 6. Stirred up some conversation over on the Facebook already, but figured this deserved a thread over here too. A screen matched Hero Stormtrooper costume from Star Wars - A New Hope (1977) has recently come up for auction, and the sales post contains some excellent photos of 1 of only 3 known surviving Hero suits/helmets out of the 6 made for the film. It is pretty much complete and in absolutely gorgeous condition. Enjoy. Per the Auction's description: Original Screen Matched Complete Hero Imperial Stormtrooper Costume from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (TCF, 1977). Vintage screen matched original Hero Stormtrooper costume constructed of vacuum-formed ABS plastic components. This complete hero style helmet features a one-piece green bubble-shaped lens, original elastic chin strap, original mic-tips, original rubber brow and neck trims, and hand-painted details. Complete armor components include torso assembly (chest, back, abdomen, kidney, butt, and 2 ribbed shoulder connectors), left and right shoulder bells, left and right arm assemblies (biceps and forearm armor), left and right thigh armor, left and right shin armor, belt assembly (layered-stitched canvas fabric belt, ribbed front plate, 2 ammo drop boxes, and distressed leather holster), thermal detonator canister, and white brush-painted chelsea boots. All armor components are assembled and held together with original metal hardware and elastic strapping. Also included is it's original off-the-shelf thin black leather belt which was used to attach the thigh armor to the actor. This belt is the only known example in existence to survive the entire production. Black spandex bodysuit added for display. There were only 6 hero style helmets made for the film, making this helmet only 1 of 3 hero helmets known to still currently exist. After filming was completed in England, this being 1 of 2 of the best condition remaining costumes were hand selected and sent back to the United States for additional pick-up shots such as the 'space trooper' standing at the entrance of Death Star Docking Bay 327 as the Millennium Falcon is drawn in by the tractor beam. This particular Stormtrooper is prominently featured throughout the film and can be screen matched sharing scenes with both Princess Leia as well as Darth Vader. It was also featured in the Donny and Marie Star Wars Special (1977), the Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), and the 50th Academy Awards (1978). This incredibly rare and special Stormtrooper costume rich with history is the most complete and best condition example known to exist from the first original Star Wars film (1977). Exhibits age, production wear and handling, discoloration, scuffing, small cracks, crazing, and minor paint loss. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. Suit Gallery Helmet Details It has been confirmed to match the suit seen throughout the film, as shown: Link to Auction HERE

  8. First full kit-up today. Glad I did this before I was going to take submission pics. I have a little ways to go anyway. Things to note here: 1. My magnetic chest clasps are not in the right place. The downside of trying to do this without actually seeing it on my own body. Looks like wearing it, my torso stretches the yoke a little wide, especially with the gaskets on. So, they need to move in and maybe down a little. I've considered velcro as that might be easier to adjust. I've just had a bear of a time getting the sides of the chest fastened correctly to the yoke. Having an assistant today helped a lot, but was even still a challenge. 2. I know, my helmet is TFA and my kit/cod is TLJ. I have both helmets, but this one was closer to me. 3. Boots arrive this week!! The last piece of the puzzle. Using my first hand-painted chelsea boots for this. The spats at least hide the fact they don't go up high enough. My ankles sure know the secret though. Pinchy. 4. The helmet is a WIP. I removed the hardhat liner for now and substituted a piece of standard foam. Doesn't fit at all yet so it's a little bobbly. I am going to line it like the premium DN helmet (separate thread eventually). My fave pose
  9. If aiming to be the CRL model you would also need to provide all CRL images required, I would suggest using a contrasting background, makes photo editing a little easier. 10. I have a pair of TK boots and I don't like how wide they are at the top. They don't fit under my shin armor. Instead of getting the white leather boots most folks get, I'd rather get a pair of black Chelsea boots and paint them. I did look them up and there were quite a lot. Is there a favorite in the community for this purpose? Thank you all so much in advance! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  11. -- EDIT 08/31/2022-- Future Jason here, I just wanted to provide this colorful edit to help explain how I'm going to handle additions to this original post. Initially, I was striking out verbiage as it was written, then adding new text, but it was getting messy. I will continue using strike through text whenever I remove something from the existing CRL, but will follow that up with red text indicating the agreed upon change. Of note, I will try not to make any of these changes unless it's captured in this conversation, but I am receiving input from detachment leadership in addition to what's captured here. If anything ever appears in the CRL text below that a person does not recall discussing, please let us know so the discussion can continue. What I absolutely refuse to do is create ambiguous text, or what I refer to as a "moving target CRL." Any edits to my original post will be written in yellow so you can follow the changes easier; I will also date any revision/ edit. So again, CRL changes/ additions in red instructions/ original post edits in yellow. Thanks, TK-51923 Fellow TKs. After several discussions regarding the inclusion of Remnant Stormtroopers, as seen in The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 into the Databank, we have decided to move forward with the creation of a CRL. The goal in developing this thread is to create a CRL specific to the heavily weathered Remnants serving Werner Herzog's "The Client" as well as those seen in Season 2 episode 7 The Believer, working in the rhydonium refinery on the planet Morak. For previous discussion on this topic, please see the following thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48305-new-anthology-tk-crl/ Additionally, for reference, please see the following picture: Additionally, since we have several new references to draw from since the creation of the original Rogue One TK CRL and it's subsequent revision in 2020, this thread will also serve to address revisions to the current ROTK CRL and the potential creation of a separate CRL for the New Generation/ Anthology TK. Discussions are ongoing regarding how to handle this generation of TK armor that has become synonymous with the Anthology films and various Disney+ series. This includes the existing ROTK, which could be renamed, receive additional variations, remain unchanged, or none of the above. However, one item that has been emphasized to me from detachment staff is that we have to clearly show that this is a unique set of armor without stating "it's dirty." Additionally, we have found several instances in which items were either missing, broken, or taped together by the costume department for the respective productions; these discrepancies will not be included in any new CRL or revisions to existing CRLs. The goal of this thread is to identify the unique attributes of the costume that are uniform throughout all of it's appearances in Anthology films and Disney+ productions, not to capture broken or missing items. Things that will not be considered: broken thigh armor, drop boxes tucked into the thighs or missing altogether, missing TDs, and "$#1++y wardrobe dressing or stunt men with gaffer tape." I'm not going to say who's quote that was. With that said, we obviously have an ANH OT bucket resting atop Rogue One style armor. These are on prominent display, but there's other unique characteristics as well. This is our opportunity to post them up and start hashing out the details. Please take a look at the aforementioned thread, but I also intend on posting several of the pictures here. To get started, I will post the verbiage from our current ROTK CRL, and include the wording from the ANH Stunt helmet. I will continue updating everything as we go along and highlight any changes in red. Additionally, even though this isn't a New Generation/ Anthology CRL, we need to capture anything in the New Generation gear that hasn't been covered previously. If there's new things that have been discovered, please post them. Let's get started: Helmet Moderate to heavily weathered 8/24/2022 Traps (trapezoids on dome of helmet) and tears (area beneath the corners of eye lenses) are gray. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): The ammo boxes across the front are all made separately from the main belt and are secured to it The two drop boxes hang no more than 1” 25mm below the front belt and the black strap is visible. The second and fifth mounted ammunition boxes have a trapezoid detail on the top of each ammunition box. The trapezoid detail is a triangular prism that has no rounded edges. 8/31/2022 The front belt protrudes past above all mounted ammunition boxes above and below by approximately 1/8”-1/4” 3-6mm. The front belt protrudes approximately 1/2" below the front 4 ammo boxes in a trapezoidal shape that extends from the center of both medium sized ammo boxes where it tapers to 1/8"-1/4" (3-6mm) below the ammo boxes across the remaining span of the belt per the official references. 8/31/2022 All ammunition boxes, including the drop boxes, have slightly bevelled chamfered edges on the face of each box. 8/31/2022 Thermal Detonator Moderate to heavily weathered 8/24/2022 The thermal detonator consists of a grey tube approximately 3” 76mm in diameter and 8” 203mm long approximately. The thermal detonator is made separate from the mount and secured to it. 8/31/2022 I added this due to the number of instances in which we've seen the TD disconnected from it's mount or missing on screen. Similar to the belt boxes, the TD should be separate, but fixed to the mount appropriately as per the screen references. Thigh Armor Moderate to heavily weathered 8/24/2022 The thigh armor is mirrored for each leg and not interchangeable. The cover strips are bevelled and approximately 1/8" thick that does not extend beyond the thigh and has a smaller cover strip layered thereon. 13. Hi, just wondered if anyone knows if there's a screen accurate, 501st acceptable PU (faux leather) Chelsea boot out there? I have seen FO TK PU leather boots on Jedi robes website but obviously these are no good ANH TK compatibility . thanks for any info. Cheers
  14. I saw that these chelsea boots are on sale at Kohls right now. They seem like a good possibility for converting to white, and don't have any seams on the front. There is even an extra $10 off with code. Of course, they are imitation, not real leather, though. What do you guys think? https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2911525/apt-9-edgewood-mens-chelsea-boots.jsp?color=Black&prdPV=4
  15. Does the community have a recommendation for low-cost (<$100) boots? For around $50 I can purchase a pair of black leather deer stag boots and possibly paint them or purchase a finished pair on Etsy for around $60-$70. I'm inclined to go with the Amazon boots since they are cheaper and seem more durable but I am not sure which paint to use. 16. I’m beginning a build or technically refurbishing a used set of what was listed as AP armor and would like to make Centurion. I’ll be scrubbing the threads for insights but your feedback and suggestions are welcome! Here’s a pic for reference. I’m having trouble finding boots in size 13, but happen to do leather work as a hobby so I may paint some Chelsea boots and seal them. I found these and they appear to be CRL standard: Deer Stags Men's Rockland Chelsea Boot https://a.co/d/00lhSi1 obviously I’ll be painting them white and will black out the sole threads. Thoughts?

  18. I’m trying to source boots on a shoestring (ha!) budget. I found out that the original boots in the films were dyed white. I’m not afraid to try that, so have now opened my search to other colors. I came across this Groupon link: ------ I have love-hate sentiments with Groupon, more towards the hate side of the spectrum. If it’s an item sold by a small business, it never hurts to call and ask if they will honor the price directly. Unless something has changed since I last dealt with them as a vendor (2014), there is absolutely nothing requiring you to sell your product through their website. Bypass them and you’re not shelling out upwards of 50% of the already discounted price to them. But I wanted to share: Discounted boots in the wrong color! Other than all the cons associated with dying, are these boots okayish?

I appreciate feedback from everyone! I did build this intending to go for Centurion, so beyond EIB feedback appreciated as well.
  20. Alright. Back at it we go. We drilled out our rivets and patched them up. We are still playing with buffing them down so it looks right. I'll post some pictures in a bit. The main thing I want to focus on today is boots. I've posted before that I have rather large feet and don't fit the standard trooper boots. I tried Crowprops, but it just didn't work out for me (James' were fine). Anyway, I'm at the point of sources new boots and found some Chelsea boots that I want to have painted. I'm thinking if just using these for trooping as I'm sure they aren't up to snuf, but I wasn't sure how all the rules around that worked. Please let me know if these boots would pass for general trooping? I have a pair to wear for when I submit, I just can't wear them that long.
  21. So, apart from “ contact cfo “ or “ contact Tm “ does anyone have actual sources of the 2 1/4 nylon webbing for belts, or the 10 mm up trim for around the body armour . Actual modern companies that sell to the public ???? im not excluding mark or Paul from the discussion, I just would like a source new members/ builders can use to locate their soft goods . id include white soled Chelsea boots in this enquiry, but I’m a realist . Lol . cheers folks.
  22. Keep trooping is the new name for Imperial Boots, they changed it as it's not just boots anymore. I have had mine since wave 4? I think it was, I find them very comfortable, well as far as Chelsea boots are comfortable one me anyway.
  23. Hi all As I understand it, there seem to be some difficulties in finding suitable Boots for Stormtroopers, now that TK boots, most unfortunately, do not have a steady supply (at least thats what I understand). I have compiled a small selection of boots that meet the standards, and at the same time are high quality boots. It puzzles me, that people seem willing to pay only very little for boots. I fully appreciate that we all want to save money, but paying a lot of money for weapons, and not to mention how much we are willing to part with when it comes to lids, armour etc, is no problem. Paying 200$ and more for a pair of boots, on the other hand seems a big deal to a lot of people. The way I see it, boots that are better crafted will last longer, some of them look very much like the originals as well, and they are simply a pleasure to wear. Ihave not trooped much, but I know a lot about marching, and I believe that trooping takes a lot of walking. A lot of walking calls for proper footwear, so why not pay the extra money, and have very high quality, throughout the entire "costume".. ( I see it more as a uniform than costume:-))..from "top to toe" ..? This is the list, all of them meet the standards and will pass for both EIB and Centurion, but none come in white. They all have Goodyear welted leathersoles and they will need a paintjob. Angelus is the thing to use (that is what I used on mine). They are produced by a company in Portugal. I have been talking to the company the last three days, and unfortunately they normally don't sell to private individuals. They look like this: Edit November 2013: Adding two aditional pairs of boots to the list. These are not of the same standards qualitywise, but they are basic CRL cleared, whether or not they will pass for EIB and Centurion I am not aware. 24. Hi Robert, You're right about the boot, Unfortunately, the screen used ones were Chelsea boots painted white, but as per the CRL for basic approval they must have a flat sole and a short(er) heel and no logos. Most troopers choose tu buy Imperial Boots https://www.imperialboots.com/ , in my case I went for a local shoemaker.
  25. Hello All! I hope I am posting this in the right area, I am new to Whitearmor - I've been having trouble finding TK boots small enough to fit my size 6 feet, but I managed to find a pair of women's chelsea boots that are white on white while still having a black bottom. They are over $100 so I was looking for some input on whether or not they could be approved at Centurion level before I invest in them. I am mainly worried about the height of the heel as it might be too big. It's really hard to find chelsea boots that have small heels! This is what I found: https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-modern-utility-chelsea-boot-white-leather?locale=US&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=pla-google&utm_campaign=838139507&utm_content=471192536556&utm_term=pla-973068508291&adgroup=116150501492&pid=8333-61669&device=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2JnsjOKr8QIV9Ql9Ch00ww6wEAQYBCABEgKoVPD_BwE Thank you! - Crystal LordOfTheSWFans
