  1. I used a heat gun almost exclusively to shape my girlfriend's armor to fit her, so it can be done. You just have to be EXTREMELY careful not to over heat or you WILL ruin your armor.
  2. This thread is going in circles and not really bringing anything new to the table so I'm going to go ahead and lock it up. Please play nice, ladies and gents.
  3. For armor cracks like that, I generally use a small piece of abs and glue it on to the back with CA glue. Ends up stronger than it was before.
  4. I use hot glue, but some people use Silicone. Only reason I don't like to use silicone is because it takes too long to set. Also, as far as the screen accuracy goes, I like screen accurate as much as the next guy, but a lot of screen accurate things aren't really ideal for trooping. Frown mesh helps prevent people from seeing your face. When I'm trooping that's all I'm really concerned about. If I had a nice set of armor that was always going to be on a mannequin, I'd keep it as screen accurate as possible including accurate fasteners etc, but that's not the case.
  5. They were a package of 100 plus washers. The brass ones were around 20 bucks and the nickel plated were just a few dollars.
  6. I know how much she needs, just not sure how much she wants. Also, it should be noted that these are in fact NOT brass. I think the brass ones were something like 10 times as expensive. Let me know if you still want them.
  7. Devin, call me up when you get into Orlando. I believe I owe you some beers.
  8. Was just gonna ask this. Nice job. How many costumes is that now?
  9. How many do you want? I'll make sure to put them somewhere, but send me a PM anyway as a reminder.
  10. I've offered people before, but nobody has taken me up on it. I actually got them for free through work.
  11. I have side split rivets I can give you. PM me if you want me to mail them or I can give them to you in person next week.
  12. Good thinking. Busy is the same thing as lazy, right?
  13. I use a screwdriver to bend them a bit then smash them with a c-clamp.
  14. Olga will be there in her TK. I know she doesn't get on here at all though. She's not really a forum person.
  15. I get my T-track from rakes that can be found in a hardware store.
  16. Not necessarily. We have a bunch of troopers in the FLG that are over 6' feet and still wear ATA.
  17. ATA should fit you fine. I'm 6' and 212 right now and mine fits pretty well. You will obviously need to space stuff out a little more since you're taller, but it will look good.
  18. How does your armor get so yellow? I had a set of FX for 2 years that never had any discoloration problems. I also never buff or polish or even clean my armor. I also keep my new armor in a large duffel bag with all of my stuff including my painted blaster and just toss it around hoping it'll get some nice marks on it.
