  1. ATA all the way! I'm 5'10 125lbs I had to do some hardcore trimming to get everything to fit especially the thighs! Only padding I have is in the arms. I have my build some where on here it's been awile.
  2. Get some nomex flight gloves, I did the rubber gloves for awile, they get hot, you can't really get a good feel when you pick stuff up and worst of all your hand smells really weird after a troop lol. I love my nomex so very much!
  3. I've used both and I don't notice any diffrence.
  4. Ok I just shows this to my GF an she demands that I find these and get her one lol. Are they even for sale?
  5. I'm not even deployed with the mepd yet....I should get on that. If I happen to have split personalities and my other side has a td would I be excempt from the rule due to medical reasons? What if I get a doctors note? Heh
  6. Very cool man! I hope your not going to retire your tie pilot heh. Btw where did you get those long clamps? Home depot? Lowes?

  8. Thanks for the info. I have been looking to change out this radio shack amp for awile now. As for the voice cards I was looking into the hyperdyne system but can't seem to get in contact with anyone.
  9. Hey all, I just recently purchased a trooper com interface from a fellow trooper. It's really neat, however I'm wantin to mount the amp and the tci in my chest but I'm getting horrable feedback and there's always a constant sound, kind of like air being blown in the mic. Any ideas on how to eliminate this? Eventually I will be hooking up the tci to two hovi-mix mic tips but there are none for sale at the moment.
  10. Th black paint is actually truck bed liner spray, You can get some at autozone.
  11. For display I would go for the black runner chem gloves, I've found some good ones at home depot for about 5 bucks
  12. Ouch. Request a refund or something.
  13. I'll stand by e6000 glue till I die lol. Get some. Also get some clamps from home depot or lowes, and some earth magnets. I had the same problem as you are haveing witht the armor popping up. Clamps, magnets, and a ton of rubber bands. Let sit for about a day or two. That should take care of that problem
  14. All I did was cut out a dimond shaped backing, used a rivit to attach I to the knee then glued the actual plate to the backing and filled in the gaps with caulk. That way it looks clean and you don't see a rivit in the middle. Hope that help.
  15. Sorry I gave ya the horribly wrong spelling of the scissors. They are called Dynamite Lexan Scissors (curved/straight) I found them at a local hobbie shop. But they are easily found through google. I never actually bought the cargo loc stuff. This was just a list I copied from a site as a guideline. But now that I look at them they do look like they would make a pretty good harness heh : http://tiedownstraps.org/uncategorized/all...e-downs-2-pack/ Get atleast two tubes of the e6000 glue. Snaps can be bought directly from Tandy leather : http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/ http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/tutorial.html : this one of the many sites that helped me out with my armor build.

  17. Do some research on all the armors you can! TM,AP,TE2 are good choices. But don't forget about ATA there are quite a few build threads out there as well.
  18. I agree that ata is awesome! Here's m build------------
  19. Trimming looks good! As for the hand plates I personally like to keep it a bit squared around the base to give the illusion of being thick armor. Its really is up to the wearer though. Good job and keep those pics and questions coming!
  20. and you'll never have an upset wife cuz you'll always remember your anniversary lol. Good idea!
  21. Something fun I was thinking about. How did everyone come up with their TK#? Mine is taken from a few didgets of my employee number at work. TD-5697
  22. Requesting 501st status change. TD-5697 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...amp;costumeID=2
  23. I would do a search for ATA. There are tons of posts on the armor with lots of info. Just fyi about cost, after I was finished with my suit I had spent about $1200 total.
