  1. 20 mins to glue the halves together? Is that the curing time? What type of glue are you using and where can I get some lol. I hate waiting a day for e6000 to cure.
  2. Unfortunately, I don't think t-cut is available to us here in the states
  3. Oh that looks great! How come I didn't think about gloss paint or wet sanding?!?! Guess that's why I come here. Thanks guys!
  4. Hey guys, Ok I got my AP seconds in a week ago. I started to use novus on it today and I've gotten a pretty good shin on it. However, looking at the buckets on starwarshelmets.com I noticed some of them are shinny to the max. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it like that? Or is it also due to the type of lighting that the picture was taken in? Should I just keep polishing it over and over? So here is my AP, all criticisms are welcome from build to shine. Thank you!
  5. omg omg omg omg! Maybe I'll do a clean TK now.....I'm defiantly staying tuned as this story develops!
  6. Those are both really good suits. I have an ATA Sandtrooper and the armor holds up really well to regular trooping, kids hitting you and leaning up on walls and things. Another thing to consider between ATA and AM is with ATA you will have to paint/polish the armor to get it looking good where as with AM it already comes rather shiny, you might want to do a quick polishing job when it's all put together.
  7. You could probably use for sale signs. The can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot.
  8. HAH found the website I used for straps and other things....great site. http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/snaps.html
  9. Besides the things you already pointed out, I think it looks good. The shoulder bells will sit better once you get an elastic band around them. I'm sure there is someone on here that can show you a good strapping system. One thing I would suggest doing is pulling the chest piece down, it looks a bit to high to me. By doing that your bucket wont be resting on the chest piece. As for the issue with you not being able to see out of the bucket.....welcome to the world of TKs, where peripheral vision has gone the way of the dodo. Nah but serious what type of padding do you have in there? If you have padding you might want to get some thinner foam and a chin strap will help to pull the helm down and keep your bucket from wobbling around.
  10. I have the MR1506 10watt model. If you are going to buy one get it from Jim TK6924. The link I posted will take ya to his sale board he ships super fast.
  11. The Aker voice amp by it self is superb! I don't think anyone that has one will have anything bad to say about it
  12. Before I bought an Aker Voice amp, I used the radio shack amp and there was a bit of feed back. However, the Aker combined with my hyperdyne fx board is awesome. There is no static burst before I talk but using a push to talk might add that, I haven't tried. aker voice amp : http://www.501stforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26880&highlight= Hyperdyne : http://www.hyperdynelabs.com/products_elec_troopVoicePro.php I have the amp in my chest plate and I haven't had any feed back as of yet
  13. I used E6000 for my ATA and everyone here will probably say stick with E6000 as well. Only down side to E6000 is the long cure time, but in the long run it holds together really well.
  14. Oh hey! Look at that! Lol the more I watch sw the more I see new stuff I've never seen hah. Thanks for that pic Billhag Ok y'all can delete this post if ya want
  15. Sorry if this has been posted already but I've never seen this before untill today. Luke dosnt have a thermal det pack he has a box witch has the grapling hook. ----------- Again, sorry if this has been posted before
  16. Stay away from eBay, I can't believe people still go on there then come on here and ask if it's ok....stop! lol Either wait for a 501st member posts their stuff on the for sale boards, or get a kit from a real armor maker. Support the real armor makers! Not lame recasted junk. I'm done heh
  17. I'm 5'10" and 125lbs also.....I have an ATA kit an it fits very well, yes you will need to trim a bit more and possibly add some foam but it's nothing that can't be done
  18. Awile back I was looking for the same thing what I did was get some glue sticks and made some make shift guns lol.
  19. The rebel legion is behind this....I know it!
  20. I agree with ATA being really easy to trim. Just get a pair of lexan scissors and follow the trim lines, no power tools needed But with ATA painting and polishing is needed to get the wonderful shine. That's why I did a TD with my ATA
  21. Good to hear! When you get a chance Id like to see a pic of it finished
  22. I recently went to dland and watched the Jedi training thing fun show btw. I was sitting rather far away so I couldn't nit pick the only thing that was noticable was the shoulderbells they needed to be closer to the chest armor, maybe the straps are wearing out or something I don't know lol.
  23. Yeah heating it up and bending is probibly the best idea. I would recomend useing a heatgun but if your brave or foolish enough try the stove....that's what I do lol. Just be very careful and go slow.
  24. Doh I looked! I wanted to be supprised at the event man! Looks good though hope ya get it all done by the 29th
