  1. Eric, the important thing is, don't rush your armour build.....so what if you can only spend a couple of hrs on it a day... just take your time coz once you trim it, you can't get it back.... so trim a little, test fit, trim a little more.... and so on... and has a previous member said, using masking tape to put the armour together and test fit it....
  2. Aaron, you can actually buy "sticky stuff remover" from places like B&Q buddy...., but if Mr Sheen work, well what can I say....
  3. These pics are incredible... definelty SLR quality.... very impressive....
  4. I second that.... congratulations and well done Pablo..... your TM build looks amazing.. (Wish I'd got TM now.... )
  5. My AP shim setup is the other way round, I have ABS shims added to the front of the AB plate and I have thick white elastic connecting the kidney plate to the AB plate... Oh plenty of room for free movement, especially if one eats a big lunch during an event...
  6. Here in the UK,we use Plastikote, as it's safe to use on kids toys, it's should be safe to use on the inside of one's bucket...
  7. Welcome to the FISD buddy, you can't go wrong with AP, I wear it myself, it's solid armour..... Remember to check out the build threads here, such an invaluable source of info...
  8. Top 10 Stormtrooper Practical Jokes 10. Replace Darth's lightsaber with a flashlight. 9. Switch Vader's oxygen supply with helium, first one to laugh, dies 8. Blame the new admiral for making the mistake that cost you the battle. 7. Tell the tall guy "yeah, the blasted door's don't open all the way". 6. Rewire hangar speaker system so it plays LaCucaracha when the Emperor arrives. 5. Tell the new guy that Darth appreciates constructive criticism. 4. Convince rookie pilots that TIE Fighters have shields. 3. Switching uniforms and seeing if the commander can tell the difference. 2. Sneak up on daydreaming guards and breathe through a can. and the number 1 Stormtrooper practical joke... 1. Stick "I got your Force right HERE" signs on Executor bridge crew's backs :D :D
  9. The velcro is an interesting idea, however, why not use the paint first.... then add the velcro strategically positioned... I'm considering using that non stick mat material that you use on car dash boards.... If it get' too hot, then i'll simply rip it out....
  10. Ciao Paride TM is probably the most beautiful TK armour in the world (now that's my humble opinion).... to assemble such armour one needs to take time, love and passion.... your pictures show this already... no question.... (Ah I see you are from Padova, I used to work in Trieste for about 2.5 yrs....) Grazie mille.... Shiv
  11. Hey Daz, Agree with Aaron, I reckon you're good to go buddy... We'll soon have you in the first 100.....
  12. Move along, move along..... Here in the UK, we used to have a TV commercial for a phone company whose moto was.... 'Talk is good', now we have a company called 'Talk Talk'.... p.s. I need to get off this laptop
  13. As no. 75, i wanna say... come on you guys..... not long now... BTW, Billy, that pic of your's would indeed make an awesome Tee-shirt, perhaps a special for the first 100? Incentives....? mmmm Someone keep me from looking at the ROTJ section as i'm starting to get an itch........(ROTJ EIB, now there's a thought!!!)
  14. Nice one Steve, and well done buddy.... welcome to the club.... now go out and troop trooper.... Hope to see you on a troop with me soon..... cheers Shiv
  15. One thing you will notice is that the plastic used on the MRCE lid is thick and is lovely.. I only wish my AP lid was just as sturdy.... You cannot go wrong with the MRCE lid, just sand out the teeth (increase the gaps), fill in the seam gap and put replacement tube decals.....and if you feel bold enough, replace the ears...... thst's it.... you'll have a top trooping lid then.... Oh, buckets of space inside too...
  16. How can you resist temptation......... Seriously though, I may attempt a build of this..... have the time on my hands now... lol The only thing I may not be able to do is to fabricate any metal parts..... mmmm Something to think about though.....
  17. Typical..... Nice suit by the way... BBC link is as follows if anyone is gonna build one of these... DLT19 self build
  18. Billy, so the DD DLT19 is a resin piece too? I'm starting to wonder if it's better just building one from the plans on the BBC so at least it should be more robust? Shame no one else builds these to order...... ahem... anyone?
  19. Can someone buy one in the UKG so we can have a look at it and report back here with the results... But, it's 3kg, damn that's heavy for a trooping blaster....
  20. DLT-19... now that's one BFG i'm gonna scratch build..... One question, is the mg15 cannon for shineys?
  21. Incidently, I have a SDS Hero lid in my small collection and to tell you the truth, I would have expected better quality for the price... hey ho... I'm in the process of smoothing out the eyes and I will at some point take the helmet apart and get new ears for it and trim them up my way.....
  22. The battlespec is a lovely trooping lid..... but you may find that you'll have to do a little work on it to get it perfect.... If you want to have some fun, get yourself a bumpy TE2 lid kit.... and then post your build pics up here.... We luv picture postcard threads here...
  23. Me too buddy am cheering you along, get those pics out pronto....and all the best.. (BTW, if you don't want to use silcone, i recommend milliput... it's a very fine modelling putty and it's white so you won't need to paint it..... damn good stuff.. pm me if you need a supplier)
