Actually, i do have a question... where did you get that rubber moulding from? Or is it something you simply put together or cut out together... The pro wires are a real pain to get right, a few of the UKG guys have them installed in their belt with the button tucked away on the underside...Downside you can't move them from kit to kit....

Superb mod... that's one way of keeping body 'moisture' away from the electronics... Another thing you can use is a Tic-Tac Box..(for the ROM only).... BTW, where do you feed your pro wires to? Down your arm and into your gloves?

Yes, using 8AA batteries increases not only the run time but more importantly the volume... incidently, I use a Nokia car speaker (very very loud )

Nice setup, one thing, you'll find that using 8AA batteries (12v) will make the ROM sound louder.. also they will last longer than one 9v... A bit of safety advice, stick the battery in a battery box, just in case you get any battery leakeage happening.. the last thing you wasnt is any battery fluid leaking onto your face....

There are many ways to place a ROMFX... do what is right for you... experiment... Mine is in my chest plate held via Velcro.... some troopers have their's in the OII plate, some have even wired a ROM into the dropdown boxes... whilst others have theirs in their buckets....Also, many of us UKG guys use Nokia car kit speakers which we have attached to our belts... although not cannon it's generally accepted...

The use of troopercom has practically died out from what I can see.. I will attempt to ressurect it at one of the UK'g next big troops.....

Nice one Pat, i'm 5'9 and tried similar lifts ranging from 3 inches to 5 inches in height increase. Unfortunately, even with the 3 inch lifts, I could not get my feet into my CABOOTS, so i'm stuck at 5'9' at the moment...

Damian This is my troopercom unit on the right in the picture. On the left is an earpiece and adapter which plugs into the troopercom and a PMR radio. The troopercom itself plugs into ROMFX. You will also notice 2 small magnets. There is a magnetic switch on one of the troopercom wires and all one does is to mount the troopercom anywhere on your armour or in your helmet (say by the ear) and it engages by you simply touching that area with a magnet. ---------

For screen accuracy, i'm pretty sure the front bridges were glued to the chest.... (Can someone chime in here to confirm).....?

Fez Using Velcro mate, it will be better for trooping, then you can slimply pull the bridges off and transport your armour with ease. If you glue the bridges, trust me, they will break over time due to stress cracks. Also velcro on the back plate, this will still give the illusion your bridges are floating...

Forgot to mention, the beauty of this system is that when you touch your ear for example, the magetic swtich engages and also lights up an LED inside your lid infront of your eye so that you know that you are using the troopercom and not the ROM. Remove your finger and the ROM engages again.... superb

Rick You'll find that the American accent comes easily with time.... well kinda.. mindyou many of the UKG troopers I troop speak normally, but some say, my accent sounds Canadian...and i'm from the midlands.... Which Rom did you get, the std or the pro?
