  1. It’s amazing that after 30 years, I have still not seen anything that beats the amazing design of the stormtroopers and that includes the paint drips and gaffer tape! It’s going to take Lucasfilm a long time to clean the film to transfer to HD! Maybe that's why they have not done a HD version yet?
  2. Thanks for the update!
  3. Any more news on this?
  4. More from the December 2005 Christies auction I could not believe just how rubbish the paint job was on these!
  5. Brian, Got mine yesterday. Thanks very much!! Nice to see a pic of Liz Moore inside. That was very kind of you to do that. It's great see is getting the recognition she deserves for her work. Regards
  6. Another one for a signed copy please. Its going to be a very interesting read!
  7. Sorry to say this is the only one I have so far! I took more of the scout trooper on his speeder bike, which as you can imagine was more interesting at the time. I know I took another shoot of him from the front on, so I will dig around the loft some more to find it! The mouth is odd, as it is black edged with grey teeth. It seems like someone thought it would be interesting to cross the mouth styles from ANH and ESB. The eyes are green and i think are bubble. I will look into geting a high quality scan and with some cleaning up, more detail may become clear. Any one else out there remember this exhibit? It was an amazing collection; Vader, two royal guards, C3PO and R2D2, Jedi Luke, Rebel Leia, Sail barge guards, Han in Carbonite, Mon Cal etc. They ran the trailer on a loop on a TV and had lots of McQuarie production artwork (prints) on display.
  8. I remember the big Jedi costume display in May 83 at Harrods I was there when Peter Mayhew did an autograph session. I found some old photos in loft at the weekend and took a rather poor scan of the stormtrooper that was on display. Sorry for the quality of the scan. I will find a better quality one to show more of the detail of the armour. Not a Jedi TK, looks like a mix of bits and bobs they had left over from the previous films.
  9. I never really liked the TK armour in Jedi. I thought it looked odd back in 83, but I have to say, that does look really great.
  10. Looks great. What brand of paint and clear lacquer are you using?
  11. Great work. What paint did you use to get that finish?
  12. very nice work! well done mate!
  13. Excellent tutorial as ever! These guides really should be pinned so no one misses them! Great work!
  14. Is that two rivets holding the holster on the belt and if so are they shorter straps on the holsters? Any one know?
  15. I am going to be trying this out as well very soon. There is a great reference photo in the gallery: ----- I think this is not a real suit, but one that TE did a few years back. The position looks good. Any know if this is correct for the actual ANH suits?
  16. Nice collection. Which one(s) is next on your the list to get? Do you have any stunts! do not leave them out!
  17. Great thread. Its very interesting to read and see the information that people have found out over the years. I never noticed the marks on the face before. Here are some pics I took at Christies's in 2005 which show these marks. You can see that the marks above the mouth are very clear on Move Along, but less on on Stop That Ship Move Along Stop That Ship It may be the angle of the shot, but it does seem to be less of a dent Stop That Ship also seems to be more narrow in the face then Move Along. What would have caused this when they were built?
  18. I am 42. I still remember having to queue for over 5 hours on a Sunday morning at the Romford Odeon to see it. Never queued as long for anything else in my life! Think that was 1978, as it opened in central London around Christmas 1977.
  19. Mark, Thanks for the info. Your a gent!
  20. Mark, A fantastic helmet and great collection. ROTJ one next? ESB is my favourite one out the three OT. What paint did you use and where did you get it from? I have a HDPE TE and want to turn it into a ESB. Does any one also know where to get the rubber trim for the underside edge? I need some of that as well. Thanks for any help.
  21. My girlfriend always thought all this stormtrooper stuff was a bit strange at first, but she has come round. I am getting married in August and she has agreed that the wedding cake will have a Hasbro stormy for me and ESB Hoth Leia for her. I have slowly converted her!
