Yeah recently i think ive decided that painted helmets look better too, i cant seem to find the right paint and this colour was recommended to me, im happy with the finish too, im just unsure if the difference in colour is too much and i would be better off matching the armour to the lid as obviously i know exactly what paint to use. Ive also just started to decal my helmet *doh*

Hi All, Sorry in advance, as im asking yet another question, but heres my problem Ive got a HIPS helmet from evil bay and painted it with the paint that was suggested by others on here ( thanks again it did the job awesomely ) but now i have the problem that the helmet is still a different colour to the rest of the armour, it seems much whiter than the rest of the armour and therefore stands out a bit. So do i just leave it as it is or do i take on the monstrous task of perhaps painting all the armour to match my helmet? I know i would lose the great shine you get with the ABS finish, but everything would match up colour wise and would be brilliant white ( the armour looks a slightly off white, im assuming most are like this? ) I dont mind the extra work and expense of painting the whole armour, im enjoying modding my armour to fit and installing a voice amp etc.. but i dont know if its frowned upon? Ie is it bad to not have that shiny ABS finish? The paint im using gives a nice glossy effect but nothing compared to the ABS currently adorning my armour. Any help and advice appreciated, esp as i want to get 501st approved asap ( im worried the paint job may affect this ) Thanks in advance

Ideal! Many thanks guys! Will pay halfords a visit asap and pick some up does that need a spray of anything else on top to give it that shine? Or is it fine with just that paint? Much happier now to know theres a good paint i can buy locally - epic win

I have just got a relatively cheap styrene lid, im quite happy with it but the paint job wasnt great on it, and the decals are incorrect, so im thinking of a total respray to get it up to scratch plus i want it to match my FX armour and it is off white at the moment. Many people seem to recommend the rustoleum high performance enamel white gloss, but i cant find anywhere in the uk that has it, and i cant get it shipped over. Does anyone here in the UK know of a supplier or of a good replacement? Also if not then perhaps the Krylon fusion? i can get this in the UK but i seem to have read mixed reviews about it. If so i would also need to know if i need to apply anything over the top of it as well to get that nice shiny ABS look Any help is appreciated in this as im a complete noob when it comes to paint ( well...most costuming actually lol )

Thanks so much guys, sorry for not introducing myself before now and for asking a question thats probably been answered many times before, the PC here at work is so slow i couldnt search properly and i desperately wanted to know my options regarding a new lid. Hi all, Many apologies if this has been covered many times, im currently using a very slow pc and couldnt find the answers im looking for anywhere. Im around 5ft7 and slim, ive just bought a set of TK armour from a friend of a friend and while we are timming everything down to fit me I still feel that the lid is too big and looks a bit silly on me, its also a little shabby ( the lid that i bought ) so would be looking to replace that part anyway. Could people advise me on if different manufacturers have different sizes? and if so which are the smallest whilst retaining good screen accuracy. I would massively appreciate all help along with any links to where i can buy them. Many thanks to anyone who can help in advance
