  1. Like I said on the FLG boards, nice work! Can't wait til it's done and can see it in person.
  2. Well said Schaf, and a great attitude to have about it. I took mine off to not look like I was gloating and I knew there were so many people upset that I was picked. Oh well. Sorry to derail the topic!
  3. Only 200 of the well over 3000 members got the opportunity to go. It was a sore point for a lot of members because they didn't get picked, thought there were conspiracies behind it, and so on. I took mine off after doing one convention with them on. Yes, they are something to be proud of, but not something you want to keep shoving in people's face.
  4. I get what you're saying now, but pictures are always welcome! Heck, a tutorial may even be in order if you're up to the task!
  5. Funny story: Some guy in my garrison, we'll call him "Kahler," had his tube stripes on backwards for like over a year!
  6. That's really awesome to hear! I love stories of the 501st giving to the community in times of desperation and strife, though of course I wish there was no need for it.
  7. Wow, it's been almost 11 months... those guys really need to take off those Rose Parade patches. And no, it's not a jealousy thing, cuz I was there.
  8. Really? That sucks. It's pretty loud as it is, I'd just like to get a little more volume out of it for noisey cons and such. I'll give it a try anyway... Nothing ventured, nothint gained. Hmm, pretty odd. Can you get a pic of the set up/wiring?
  9. Actually, I've seen a couple people go with the no stripes look. One of them was here when we did Star Wars Weekends in Orlando this year.
  10. No problem, like I said, it's a common mistake!
  11. I did mine the same way you did: put the speaker wires to a mono mini plug. Are you using a powered mic? It's required with that amp.
  12. But you're absolutely right. Things may have sentimental value, but they are just "things." A life can never be replaced.
  13. Use the search box for fan wiring. This happens all too often. What you're doing is connecting the + and - from the fan to switch as well as the + and - of the battery. Connect the - from the fan and battery directly (not the switch) then connect the + from the fan and battery to the separate posts on the switch.
  14. I watched a reporter reporting from his own burning home. Heartbreaking stuff.
