  1. Us clean tk's missed a few Rebels. The sandies missed the entire bloody Falcon!!
  2. Def go with Zerorooms and avoid verns less than accurate ones.
  3. He was probably thinking of Hey Jude when he said it. lol
  4. Closing had to be better.... No Paul bloody McCartney. He's spent more time living off dead beatles than an African spider.
  5. Wiki: Prince Henry of Wales (Henry Charles Albert David; born 15 September 1984), commonly known as Prince Harry,[1] is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, and fourth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. As such, he is third in the line of succession to the thrones of sixteen independent sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, and to the governorship of the Church of England, preceded by his father and elder brother
  6. Agreed. In fact I would be the voice of dissent here and say that if you can afford it, get a taylor to do it. If you get a mate to do it and they screw it up ( or your wife when your having an officers suit made ) .... its a lot of your money down the drain.
  7. Just to confuse things..... So do we.
  8. Kevin: Hi mate. Welcome to the UKG/501st FISD. Do you mean you are still working on your kit but have not yet submitted it for clearance? If so once you have got it built and ready you will need to submit your pics via the UKG forums for clearance and include 4 choices of number for your TK ( ask on the ukg forums, they have a list of available numbers ). Whilst you are building it please feel free to post up any questions you have in the Armoury section where one of us Armourers will glady help you in any way we can. Once you have submitted your clearance pics and had your costume cleared the 501st will be informed and your name added to the registry. One point I would make is that the UKG base standard is pretty much the FISD's EIB standard. It costs nothing extra to do and will provide you with a perfect platform if you wish to attain Centurion at a later date. Good luck with your build.
  9. There are no hadguards in the pictures. They are a Sandtrooper sniper plate plus a spare.
  10. Get a new chest plate would bne your best bet mate. You also appear to have several other parts missing such as back plate, belt, drop boxes ,kidney and butt and biceps. Are these missing or just not pictured? You will also need a different knee plate for a Stormtrooper (TK) and the detail plates for the ab section. Good luck regardless of the route you choose.
  11. Its a pun. A hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference. But seriously, we have this issue with our detachment leader and al your worried about is the thread title?
  12. Karin: You are one of the few on here who's opinion can be trusted 100% Sadly the "message" seems to have been diluted far too much along the way. Far too many wanting to make a name for themselves and relying soley on outposting/outlasting those who actually knew what they were on about rather than members posting who have actually done the legwork/served their time and know what they are espousing. And the majority of those apprentices have moved on also. Ask yourself this: There are a coulpe of countries that encourage EVERY new member to build to EIB standard, and they do. Yet they choose not to register here nor apply for EIB. Hmmm, why could that be?
  13. The way this forum used to be was that those that knew from whence they spoke did so with the aim of helping others with knowledge they had gleaned over many years through hard work and resaearch. Sadly these days the way it works is those who are most vocal, have a high post count or act like they have the remotest clue as to what should be being done are the ones that post/ are listened to. Regardless of which particular orifice they are talking from at the time. This is why so many of the old and truley knowledgeable members no longer post. Yet they are still active in the hobby. Funny that.
  14. Given that this issue has been raised at both detachment AND Legion level , and that the staff locked the thread linked below 11 days ago is there any chance that us mere mortals may have an explanation of whats going on with our Det Leader /Armour supplier (sic)? http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19913&st=20 Emotions /anger is building. If there is a legitimate reason for his absence on both fronts then both the membership AND his customers deserve an answer. additional locked thread on the 501st boards: http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71437
  15. Firstly: welcome, and good luck. However. As a member of one of the largest , and most creative, garrisons in the 501st I would make one observation. Not one of us has been cleared wearing Pep armour. To get a set of pep armour up to a clearable standard will cost you far more than the cheapest accurate kit will. Better to take pride in having assembled your own purchased kit to a high standard than to make a rod for your own back and go via a route that may end in dissapointment.. If money is an issue hen the simple answer is save. The 501st will still be here in a couple of months when you can afford a kit. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear but, would you rather someone pees on your dream and saves you time and money or have people give you false hope and cost you hundreds? Best of luck, regardless of the route you choose.
  16. Given the conotations/association between the words stormtrooper and the Germanic spelling of Korp lets hope not eh? I know that GL likes to put his audience outside the US firmy in second place ( CVI vs 1x CE and 1x CJ) but I would hope even he and his advisors are not quite that crass.
  17. Exactly the same as YT in YT1300 or the XP in XP34 Its simply a pair of random letters plucked from the air for use in a film that no one at the time thought would even break even. Do you really think they sat down and thought " Hang on. In 30 years time people are going to be obsessing over every little detail of this film so we had best make sure every little detail has a back story. I know, we will make TK mean trooper Korp despite TK only being mentioned in the film exactly twice. " Sorry to rant , but it just pi44es me off when false info gets spread around so much that it eventually gets accepted as truth.
  18. TK does not stand for trooper Korp. FFS
