  1. Ignore me Just seen your red line
  2. Which part Karin 18.3" springs to mind for the whole thing...? Ask Billy Haggis. He's measured a few lately Bare in mind that some tutorials assume your end cal maybe hollow. Therefore if it isn't, your E11 will be longer than it should be John
  3. The silhouette I the easiest way to spot one. If the scope looks 'fat' or the rail has blobs jutting up, it's the stunt version. But yes, the one behind Lando plain as day has a greeblied up scope rail
  4. I've been informed some folk think the snowtrooper resin stunt (promo E11 not seen in the film) isn't used by any TK in ESB Well here's 2 shots that show that it was There are loads of TKs in the chamber scene that are holding one The one pointing an E11 at Leia when they lower Han in. The one who walks behind Chewie as they enter the chamber. The one to the right innscreen behind Vader as he says 'He's all yours' Im not sure why some think they weren't used by normal TK.... Anything sticking up of the E11 scope rail, is the stunt. So let's discuss PS: the best lit shot is the one walking with Lando and Jeremy is the easiest to see (just before he grabs Leia) *NB it is missing the 3 dots but does have the scope rail add ons
  5. PS I did things like this with mine -------- To help sharpen it up a little
  6. Well I don't like to comment ad I've never had any complaints. I think it's a case of he used to be brilliant and maybe 'now' he's gone slow...? As I said, never had any problems. Asked him to use a thinner plastic for more detail and things always arrived. Ordered 3 things over the years 2 MGs and 1 STG44 for my snowie DLT20A But I agree, he's had some bad press of late, sadly.
  7. Yes his stuff is vac formed but dirt cheap I made this ----------- Sharpen it up with a file, square sanding blocks and a dremel I've done it a few times. Need a little work yeah, but they cost next to nothing and this is a costuming hobby where a little hands on skill is required in one form or another Not the most detailed, no. But easily fixed and fun to do
  8. You could Cushman paintball? He's ha bad press of late bit I've always found him brilliant. So...?
  9. CFO without a doubt dude Lovely lid. Just slips together like a dream
  10. Great thread I think the holiday special pics show the odd connection of the shoulder bells I 'think' it shows that they 'may' have been connected with the neck brace method some used to think thats how the bells were connected I can't find the pics on my iPhone but they definitely look 'odd' as the TK bends his arms forward......? Who knows, especially if we don't know
  11. Yay!!! Have a great one captain
  12. Yeah you can I guess I tried it bit felt the outside edges were always too perfect (as it's a decal) sadly I didn't take any pics. Also it looks odd if you then try and make the outer edge look hand painted as it's got a weird 2 tier effect I used a sharpie pen but paint might be better That said, if you can paint that well, just go for it I did the black border first Then grey inside I used a draftsmans bow pen for the lines 2 strips of masking tape and a ruler to do the lines Peeled off the tape Covered up the bleeds with 2 horizontal swipes of grey Simple
  13. What about my point on epilepsy? I think that's a valid concern. You cant go flashing lights in kids faces if they're epileptic, surely?
  14. Sorry Paul, just highlighting the flaws in other peoples comments in support of Hasbro blasters Im not condoning their banishment for current members. Merely stating, moving forward we should encourage people to build pipe blasters Seriously though.... A pipe must be far easier to source than a hasbro blaster? Are they still made, even?
  15. I didn't think flashing lights in our blasters was welcomed anyway? Risk of triggering Epilepsy attacks etc......? I think our efforts should be concerned with TKs using the wrong E11 version with their TKs If you have a hasbro, fine. It's not accurate however. Too short, odd grip, wrong end cap and muzzle port. If it's just cos it's LFL stamped.....I may go for a Rubies centurion It looks like a Stormtrooper and it's got LFL on it
  16. So the Hasbro is responsible for Jar Jar Binks? Bin them lol No one is saying bin them mate. Some are saying just slowly encourage pipe builds as we move forward If you have a Kenner, keep it
  17. Don't get me wrong Joe, I love what they have. Same as your suits/lids But if these guys whack the price up too high, not many people will buy them. I agree with you not agreeing with me actually lol. It wasn't worded fully. My point is, what they have is lovely stuff with a PURE heritage. Worth the money alone. Not many will see it that way sadly. Theyll look at the new lid, try to justify the price (others will be in a queue for one ) and some may just 'think' the difference is a few kinks here and there. I can do that kink myself and they 'look' the same. Or very similar They're not the same, no I may get one myself, but not if the price is ridiculously high. You don't sell your lids for £300 do you? You seeked yours out, you weren't lucky enough to find one in your attic
  18. You can show my snowie one if you like mate
  19. I'd do some sums based on recouping your costs over a set time/number of pulls (very low in this case as the suit was 'found' not bought at auction) and aim for that. It is accurate, but nothing a sealing iron couldn't put into a cheaper accurate helmet.(tube kink etc) It is very, very pretty though
  20. Toothpaste Works for removing scratches on DVDs etc too
  21. Talking of basics... Hasbro E11 = hasbro blaster + glued on parts (not accurate) Pipe E11 = pipe + glued on parts (accurate) It's as simple as that
  22. The rash isn't a rash it's bite marks I've got sone new ATA shins and have trimmed the armour now so it maybe fine Been too busy to sort it out lately John
  23. Me too lads but you're missing a fundemental point here You buy a hasbro, it's not clearable on it's own. You need to work on it. You glue things onto it. Much the same as you would do to a pipe build Only difference is there's a few more parts to glue onto a pipe. It's not elitism. It's just common sense that's all
  24. I doubt the police would let you off as it's a Hasbro blaster? They'd not know the difference between a hasbro and a pipe build surely? Hasbro/Kenners can be made to look ok but not really in all honesty. Theyre jot screen accurate by a long shot We place a lot of attention to rivets and paint colours etc, really baffles me why we let the blaster slip in terms of importance I hope the centurion criteria also says the correct version E11
  25. I think it should be open to all yeah. It's all for charity. Ask Gary, as Joe said PS: I wasnt building the suit. I just supplied a spare set of eyes to the lads
