My ESB promo trooper outfit

Ah mate, that's so sweet I'm so pleased Steve finally makes these as it's big bug bear of mine, correct blasters for your chosen TK. I hunted high and low for the greeblies for my TS until Steve pulled his finger out lol We'll moan and groan and not even clear someone as they've painted too many black stripes on the ears, or have the incorrect screws, yet a ANH TK can troop with a ROTJ blaster. Not the end of the world no, but rules are rules and should apply to the suit as a whole, not just the lids etc. Good on you sir! Top work -
What is that? lol Fantasy Elf wars or something? Is it like a LARP thing?
-
I hope for the sake of the original poster, they do genuinely want to see some sculpting shots....? I just noticed they've ever posted on here a handful of times though
-
Lets not forget this one
-
Nice idea Could be cos you're cutting into a visible part of the helmet? Like the thought though...........
-
Karin makes them mate. Sonnenschein I just judge it for my hands TBH as they're quite small, for me. Back on target, I'm sure Paul will post some pics soon
-
Here's my new handplates to get you all excited then lol. It's been changed a lot since this was snapped last night Tip: clean you hands before picking up the camera
-
Sorry Rich You know what I mean dude. I like it as well TBH, I like them all. I didn't like the ROTJ for a long time but it's growing on me lots lately. I'm a big fan of whatever TK you portray, GET THE RIGHT FLIPPING BLASTER lol We take so much care with frown paint and ear screws on stunt/heros, yet you can troop with any E11 you want..... lol, bugs me Yes, if you're doing a snowie, you can use both types actually, plain, hollow scope rail E11 or the stunr greeblie'd up version E11.

Yes mate, I'm a massive advocate of it. I don't like the 'tradional' in hovi solution as the speakers are too small. I prefer to make a mod to the helemt and hovi mic tip so the speaker is actually behind the hovi I sell the speakers and some nice vac formed caps to cover the speakers up too Much better sound and way better at talking to the public than a speaker on your belt, chest isn't too bad, but in lid speakers are

My First Big Brown Box

I cut mine so the plate edges are at 12 and 6 o'clock The line of detail is at 9 oclock -
Vern, I've told Sarah about your pipes lol I've offered to make it, so will use your pipe maybe and Steves kit. (I think it's better than anyone elses ) Steve makes the greeblies. Doopydoo doesn't do them does he? Or does he? Lol, stuff typing that again
-
Sarah, email Steve like I said, and wait for him to get back to you He makes the best by a million miles. They had extra greeblies on them that no one else makes. Here's the extra kit....but you need a whole blaster, not just the upgrade kit. Tell him you have nothing and want an ESB version Or just go for the plain boring E11 with no counter and cylinders I'll gladly make it for you, but tell Steve I'm doing it for you ok

There's a GR8 PGM on BBC2 ATM Mark, I have no idea what half of them mean. What forums have you been on?
-
Yeah it is a pain plus it depends what mesh you have Let's see what the others say as all mine have been hollow Or make yours hollow and go for a lid speaker system
-
Yes apparently it's good but a little soft and he's a good egg It's just the stuff is a naughty recast of a TE lid and AP body I believe If you didn't know any better fair enough, but you know it's a recast now so... Upto you really......?
-
I drew a circle on the mesh with a flet pen (a little bigger than you need - so the outside diameter of the tip to mark the circle) Cut it out with scissors and pushed it in from the rear to the front Ends up a domed shape and won't fall out Not sure who's tips you have though?

Yep lots use E6000 and it seems fine Are you sanding the contact surface down so its smooth and is it a fresh but if elastic you're using to be sure? I like proper ABS glue myself. Damages your armour if you spill any though as it actually disolves the plastic together Plus my guess is this what may have used back in the day Just don't spill any E6000 is safer so my guess is your area isn't clean or you're not clamping it down maybe? Garters also help to spread the weight of your costume on you Piling it all onto your midsection and hanging off there isn't the best way to do it

Are left and right handplates the same?
john danter replied to john danter's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I know the ones you mean Rich. Dashrazor put them up a while back? Each film? I'll sell these on for £5 a pair when finalized, so any input on getting them bang on would be cool. Karin has told me my thumb line edge needs to slope into rather thasn step into that part. I'll try and sort that today -

Cheers Rich These are the scenes were I spotted it Really odd that Han has 2 different versions Just goes to show how slap dash they all were How are your shots so crisp? Mine looks like a child been let lose on a pc lol But I got my point across Thanks for the pics Here's what I've come up with in ABS The tools The end result....? Look ok? -

Well looking at his legs, you can make out which side is left and right but they're upside down lol Also look at the one standing up, you can see his left leg is on the right of the picture as we look at it.... The ammo pack is on the right leg, sniper plate on the left, so the TK on the right as we look at the picture is holding his blaster in his RIGHT hand lol phew Definately agree with you Karin as sometimes my theory doesn't fit but does ona TK standing behind him etc Leads me to believe at least 3 moulds made Hero and standard and standard 2 -
I believe, from what I've heard, he's a nice chap but it's a recast of various sources TE lid and AP armour I think? Recasting is a naughty business and buying from a known one is a decision for you to make ethically. Supporting them isn't really a done thing. I'm sure your bank manager won't give a hoot, so it's up to you But he is a known recaster of other peoples work....who ironically recasted someone elses work

Stormtrooper Suit & Helmet Surfaces
john danter replied to riveting's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Matches up to the cod piece of the armour found. It had a lump sticking out on the cod nad sack area if I remember correctly...? Also the ab plate was a weird one, neither here nor there but something in between. I think the consenus was it used to be a TD, brought back and painted over or cleaned up etc for those promo shots.....maybe? And yes, TMs 1mm stuff is really flexible. I'm all for anal extremes too, just check my video collection, and my snowie is no exception. I'm just saying, I'd love an authentic brass tacs TK too, I doubt I'd troop in it thats all. Those brackets are great, but LFL didn't plan on visiting hospitals, garden fates, video games releases etc etc in their suits. If they hold up great. I hope so cos it's nice to see But like you say, if they break, fix it the way they fixed it. All adds to its authenticity. Plus, if the can jump down compactor chutes, fall off balaconies and land on the floor after being blasted, maybe they're stronger than they look
