Hello and welcome to the home of the Stormtrooper, Dave! A balaclava will take care of your beard! We have one bearded man in my garrison with like an 8/9 inch (ish 20cm) beard and it tucks away nicely being a Stormtrooper since most use a balaclava and all use a neck seal, which will tighten everything down a bit more! If you're new to cosplay, I'd really recommend the ANH Stunt/Hero Stormtrooper, because it is easy to get ahold of a great looking armor because of all our awesome vendors For a beginner cosplayer, I'd suggest the Stormtrooper not only for the cool looks but also the mannerisms, it is very easy to look cool by not doing anything. If you don't have a clue of what to do you can just follow the "pack" of other troopers, or just stand still with your E-11 blaster in hand and just look really cool! It is also very rewarding, since the Stormtrooper and Darth Vader are basically the most popular amongst the people you meet and a lot of people get star struck and happy - and it is always an honor to have been responsible for their awesome experience!

@Sly11 Ok so I've done a pass now, and I have a few colors to help out with the feedback! Observations Misspellings Suggestions 1. Check usage of capital "S" and lowercase "s" in "Flight suit" 2. Four distinct sections, but only three dots - could be good to have four dots even if Left winglet/Right winglet can be combined 3. Check the wording of "jetpack" or "jet pack" and decide which one to use 4. Misspelled "Bacplate" and check wording of "backplate" or "back plate" and decide which one to use 5. Question: what is a "belt proper", "Coton" misspelled, "section" should be "sections", "visibaly" misspelled, two spaces in sentence, "chamfer" should be "chamfers" 6. "*he" misspelling 7. "Hanplates" misspelled, check the wording of "flightsuit" or "flight suit" and decide which one to use, check the wording of "hand plates" or "handplates", "three facets." text after a completed sentence should be removed, "symetrical" misspelled, "Hand Plates" with capital P, question: should "glove back." be "the back of the glove."?

It's really helpful to have one over here, since we are the home of all things Stormtroopers (most often called TKs here)! We have programs called "Expert Infantry" and "Centurion", which are aimed to make your armor look outstanding! The extra levels are not needed by any means, however when building the armor yourself, it is very easy to have the aim set for those levels right from the beginning, since what makes them hard to accomplish is often times having to remove things that are already glued on, only to apply them in the "correct" way (according to the extra levels)! Doing it from the beginning usually only costs a few more minutes of thinking, and will in the end make your armor look even more like the ones we see on screen!

Hello and welcome to the forum Dannon! Your height and weight is no problem for any TK! I'd even say that it is great! To fill out the armor you can use foam padding and it will look good when you move around, and you'll look more muscular just like they do in the movie! Hope that you find some people that can help you, if not your brothers! Do you know where to purchase the kit?

I think that it would be very wise to take a look at the vendors list that I sent and at least write on here for feedback before you do any purchase! We all want you to have an armor that will live up to the 501st Legion standards, and withstand the test of trooping!

I'd say being a Stormtrooper is one of the best feelings for s Star Wars fan with a 20 year old wish! You don't need to be handy or a builder to build your own armor! Many people have done it by asking questions and posting images on cut lines here on the forum and achieved amazing results! There are vendors that offer commissioned kits where you just have to send in your measurements and the armor will usually be up to 501st Legion standards! All of the builders on our vetted vendors list are trusted and deliver great pieces of armor! What's your height?
