  1. When it came to putting my fx thighs together i wanted to glue the front and use velcro at the back. But after having some issues when glueing the front of my shins i used velcro all over and have not had any probs yet. I may glue them in the future i dont know yet... But getting back on how to do them im sure if you follow everyones advice you will not have any probs, they are easier than you think. I started by taping the front part together with masking tape and then slipped them on and held them high up my leg where i thought they should be. Then get someone with a pencil to help you and wrap the leg piece around as tight as you think you will need them and mark all the way down. I tapered mine in quite alot towards the knee to get rid of the barrel effect. Then i took the leg off and taped the piece up where the pencil mark was on the back and tried it on again. After i was happy with the fit i used 2 inch velcro on the inside part and cut the other side to fit the angled mark. I use a single piece of 2 inch elastic that holds my back and front ab part together and that then carries on down to my thighs and is held in place with snaps. I had a couple of goes at getting the thighs to the hight i wanted and so far have not had any problems touch wood. I didnt trim anything off my thigh at all just left the overlap on the inside. And remember as others have said, dont make the thighs too tight, you have to be comfortable wearing this when walking around, its got to be a compromise between what looks good and what is wearable. If you want to see any pics of my armour just let me know
  2. Nice lid you have there, is this one of the fg that often pop up for sale or an abs version? Typically the 'hero' version had a lower brow, 3 teeth per side, bubble lenses and 1 screw on the ears while the 'background' had a higher brow, 4 teeth per side flat lenses and 2 screws, although there were plenty of background lids with a lower brow like this. No 2 trooper helmets were really the same
  3. Hi John the easiest way to add a pic to your thread is set up a photobucket account ( its free ) upload your pictures from your pc to your online photo album then you will see 4 options under the photo, click on IMG Code and simply paste that into you reply and the pic will appear for everyone to see, let me know if you need any further assitance
  4. If you are a little more specific maybe we can help you. ie do you want to use this for shimming or ???
  5. I can sit down in my armour easily, just remember to raise your belt a little around your middle and you will be fine
  6. Probably has something to do with LFL suing AA's a very impolite person off
  7. I always thought it looked like it was a pastry cutter, one of the plastic ones from the tupperware range, probably in a nice orange colour!!!!
  8. Your putting in some really great work here Curtis your armour is going to look sweet when your done
  9. Hi Ed i will send you what pics of the corridor i have, they were not finished building it when i took that pic and the lights were only half on hense the grainy pic, standby... The se-14r is the perfect length for trooping with and very light weight too
  10. I had a great time at CE did a lot of trooping with my local club mostly as Vader but i did get to put on my trooper armour for a few hours sat afternoon evening which was great fun I have put a few pics on photobucket follow the link to see them, here are a few of them

  13. Hey curtis your armour is going to look sweet when its done. I dont know if i have the balls to do all that cutting myself, look forward to seeing more from you in the near future
  14. You could try brasso or t-cut to polish out the fine scratches then you would maybe need to buff afterwards as it may dull down the finish a little.
  15. Hi Paul i will be in there for all of it so will also be trying to meet as many fisder's as possible
  16. Who's June? Is that Mark's wife???? Whats the password then?
  17. Since i took these photo's i have added the ammo pack to the right thigh and have also fixed my thighs onto elastic suspenders which has brought them up a couple of inches and they fit alot better Hopefully i shall finish glueing my TD after a spot of filling sanding and repainting today. The weather here has been so crap the last few weeks i havent bothered trying to spray my blasters which is really getting on my nerves as im back to work on monday and wanted this all finished before then Im so close to finishing im getting quite exited
  18. Yes it is, without the elastic the belt would be very thin and not able to support the armour belt and holter or the TD. This way the belt is nice and strong but also light weight and will withstand plenty of trooping.
  19. I aggree the instructions that came with my suit i dont think i ever read them fully, just threw them out of the window, lol. Tony's site is a good one to follow as Mario has posted, also try this one for plenty of refrence from our very own Steve aka Ruf Terrain. ------- I found it was alot easier than i first thought, i would suggest starting on something easy to put together like the arms then upper body then main body then legs and leave the lid til last. Good luck
  20. Be sure to keep an eye out for rebels and those pesky little care bears..... Have fun
  21. The way Matt has shown works really well, the webbing usually takes very well to the abs when glued straight in like that. As an alternative you can rivet the webbing straps to small squares of abs, say 1 1/2 inch or so and glue the square onto the abs, either way have worked well for me in the past.
  22. How about this: How many troopers wore gaffer's tape on screen? Too many to list????? Tony that lid looks sweet, im going for the no stripes look when i build my helmet...
  23. Hi ive been doing a little work with my tk the last couple of weeks trying to get this finished and suited up today for some pics. Constructive critisism is welcome and any pointers greatly received, ignore the helmet as its not mine, i still have to put mine together, lol..... I havent finished work with my thighs either, i need to put on the power pack but i think i will have to trim the plastic at the rear as it doesnt close very well yet... Let me know what you think oh and i havent finished painting and putting together my blaster either!
  24. Hey ben your belt there is looking might fine, nice job. Be sure to post some full photos next time you suit up. I think we all want a nice grapling hook to finish it off
  25. There was no new armour made for esb, they re-used the stuff from anh at a very high cost. It looks like 3 ear stripes in most pics, i will put together some screen grabs for people to look at if you like heres just a couple i have for now.
