Hey good luck with the website, i look forward to that, i will email you soon
  3. I got those clips from Jarrolds of Norwich but last time i checked for a fellow trooper they nolonger sold them Check out your local department store or market, they are still quite popular, you belt will be in the post at the weekend as thats the only time i can get in there atm
  4. I think Chefhawk has hit the nail on the head on this one, personally i used the Humbrol #5 to match the ab plate buttons, but use whatever is best for you.....
  5. Anything between 11 and 16 would be screen accurate for anh, thats how many i have counted on various lids
  6. Wow Bernard all your hard work is really paying off, well done your armour looks great Now all you need to do is wrap it and box it up and send it off to me
  7. I find the polish that came with the kit works fine or any furniture polish for that matter.... oven cleaner works well on deep scratches that are filled with dirt but it will need polishing afterwards as it turned the abs dull. But im with Nathan and Bernard i dont clean my armour either, i also like the 'used' look of the original costumes
  8. Hey Jay your helmet turned out great Do you have the contact details for these another nice helmet?
  9. I was looking through the old threads on helmets and was wondering what happened to the anh2 lids... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=502 Has anyone else bought one of these and what are the results, please post your pics
  10. The main part of the TD is just grey, the silver strips are actually the metal clips holding the TD to the belt. The originals had long strips of metal bent around and rivited to the bottom part and then bent to clip over the belt and the end caps and the part with the buttons are plain white.
  11. Hey Curtis i have just been catching up on your progress. You have done a great job with your belt and im glad you are happy with it and that you found my way of puttin git all together helpful, it looks great And i think the way you have finished the ab and back plate is fantastic, it really has a screen used look about it, very nice... your armour is going to be very impressive
  12. When it came to putting my fx thighs together i wanted to glue the front and use velcro at the back. But after having some issues when glueing the front of my shins i used velcro all over and have not had any probs yet. I may glue them in the future i dont know yet... But getting back on how to do them im sure if you follow everyones advice you will not have any probs, they are easier than you think. I started by taping the front part together with masking tape and then slipped them on and held them high up my leg where i thought they should be. Then get someone with a pencil to help you and wrap the leg piece around as tight as you think you will need them and mark all the way down. I tapered mine in quite alot towards the knee to get rid of the barrel effect. Then i took the leg off and taped the piece up where the pencil mark was on the back and tried it on again. After i was happy with the fit i used 2 inch velcro on the inside part and cut the other side to fit the angled mark. I use a single piece of 2 inch elastic that holds my back and front ab part together and that then carries on down to my thighs and is held in place with snaps. I had a couple of goes at getting the thighs to the hight i wanted and so far have not had any problems touch wood. I didnt trim anything off my thigh at all just left the overlap on the inside. And remember as others have said, dont make the thighs too tight, you have to be comfortable wearing this when walking around, its got to be a compromise between what looks good and what is wearable. If you want to see any pics of my armour just let me know
  13. Nice lid you have there, is this one of the fg that often pop up for sale or an abs version? Typically the 'hero' version had a lower brow, 3 teeth per side, bubble lenses and 1 screw on the ears while the 'background' had a higher brow, 4 teeth per side flat lenses and 2 screws, although there were plenty of background lids with a lower brow like this. No 2 trooper helmets were really the same
  14. Hi John the easiest way to add a pic to your thread is set up a photobucket account ( its free ) upload your pictures from your pc to your online photo album then you will see 4 options under the photo, click on IMG Code and simply paste that into you reply and the pic will appear for everyone to see, let me know if you need any further assitance
  15. If you are a little more specific maybe we can help you. ie do you want to use this for shimming or ???
