If you glue both the front and rear of the shins you are not going to be able to get your legs and feet in.... Mine are just left open at the rear, nothing holds them shut and you can see here they open when i walk and then close when at a stand still just like the tantive scene.. If you want to keep them a little neater and not come open like mine do you could add a small piece of velcro on the inside but the best stealth method to keep them shut but without the velcro showing is to glue a small piece of black elastic horizontally to the inside of the shin on both sides, which will allow you to open them up to slide your foot inside but then pull to 2 parts closed again.

Hi Chris i think i put the info you are asking over at the UKG with regards to price range. And just so you know want to buy armour and helmet threads are not premited here, but seeing as you are asking for some help with which helmet will suit you as you wear glasses i will let it stay as is for the time being, you may want to edit it slightly... someone else may come along and do it for you. TK helmets are not really available in on line stores as the ones you want to be looking for are made by fans and they like to stay under the radar as such. ps the info Chris C sent you has the contact details for various vendors.

Shins are loose, they do their own thing.. For the thighs, just glue a snap at the top in the middle to attach the suspenders, simples

Over all looks very good. A couple of things that i noticed will make your suit look better in general, not sure about EIB status. I can t tell if you have bubble lenses in the helmet for hero? I would lower the biceps a bit to make the gap between those and the forearms smaller. Raise the drop boxes a little so they almost touch the belt.. Cut the butt plate to the correct 3 angles... Remove the silver tape from the td if at all possible.... This is just me being a prefectionist by the way and like i said, may not impeed your EIB status, good luck

Some glues do react badly when they come into contact with metal ie the snaps on the tabs.. as far as i know E-6000 does not seem to be affected

I would troop in the abs and keep the styrene nice and neat.. if the abs suit gets scuffed its only going to look better!!

Hi Andy i think pictures are going to be the key here to unlock some of the mystery for you. Show us what you have done so far so we can better guide you. As for trimming the armour to be able to walk will be a definite yes for someone of your stature. But you will need to get the suit fully ready to wear before you can accurately trim where needed to be comfortable.
