  1. @Brent Seymour Hi Brent, I will be doing your EIB review. If you could please put the photos directly into the application, rather than just links to the photos, that would be great. To do this, instead of selecting image link from Imgur, sel;ect direct link and paste that onto your application. It will then show the actual photo instead of a link. Thanks
  2. Hello Hiroyuki. Welcome to the FISD. I am looking forward to your build.
  3. Hi Shane, Thank you for your EIB application. I will be handling your review and will just need a few more photos before going ahead. Could you please add the following photos Abdomen button plates close up Cod and posterior plate connections showing rivets / snaps (exterior) Internal strapping Wrist openings (close up) Close up of ab/kidney rivets Han Snap Left sniper knee plate close up right sniper knee close up left thigh ammo pack rivet close up right thigh ammo pack rivet close up This guide shows all of the required photos and examples of each for your reference. Thanks
  4. Hi Craig. Welcome
  5. Welcome Adam. Looking forward to seeing your build
  6. Congratulations
  7. Hello Olaf, Thank you for your patience while we looked over you EIB application. We have looked at your costume and will require a few corrections before we will be able to grant your EIB status. Please feel free to reach out if you need any advice with the modifications. 1. For the shoulder straps; The shoulder straps do not overlap the tabs on the top of the back plate. This may be corrected by shortening the elastics connecting the chest and back plates over the shoulders to bring the back piece up, provided that there is room in the butt plate area to accommodate this. If not, the shoulder straps may need to be removed and reattached slightly higher on the chest plate or possibly replaced with a longer set. References 2. For the abdominal armour; The gap between the abdomen armour and the kidney armour should be no more than 1/2". You already have a shim in place, but it will need to be a bit longer. Please note as well, that if you are aiming for level 3 approval, the gap will need to be completely closed. L2:Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. References With respect to the shims, they should be flush with the kidney armour and not glued to the underside. A new shim will need to be placed butting up against the kidney armour to provide a smooth transition. A piece of ABS should then be placed on the inside to provide backing and support. L2: Any shims used to achieve this effect are of a similar material and color as the abdomen and kidney armor. Shims fit flush and seams are allowed. 3. For the thermal detonator; We will need a few adjustments on your thermal detonator. With respect to the screws, they do appear to have been painted black but most of the paint seems to have chipped off. A few minutes with some black paint should do the trick. L2: Clips shall be attached with slotted type, flat or dome top style screws, and be black (two per clip). References Also with your thermal detonator, the clip ends appear to be raised where they meet the control panel. These should sit flush. This can be corrected by carefully bending the ends slightly for a tighter fit with the edge sitting right against the control panel. L2:Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned with little to no gap between the clips and the end caps. References 4. For your blaster; We will require you to do a bit more sanding and refinishing as there are still some visible print lines which are not allowed for level 2. L2: 3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. As a final note, when dressing, try to ensure that the gap between the biceps and elbow is the same as the gap between the forearm and hand guard. On your submission photos, your right forearm is shifted up and your left biceps and left forearm are sitting low. You may need to make a few strapping adjustments to correct this.
  8. Looks pretty good so far, your helmet is sitting a bit too high however. You may want to remove some of the padding from the top to get it to sit closer to the shoulders. References If you are thinking of higher level approval, you may want to bring your belt up slightly so it sits just above the bottom of the lowest button on the ab plate. I use velcro on mine to hold it in place. References
  9. Congratulations
  10. Hello Torsten. Welcome.
  11. Hi Steve. Welcome aboard. Here are some great references for building your armour , strapping and all. If you are thinking of making the kit into a sand trooper, they would fall under the Mos Easley Police Department detachment (MEPD)
  12. Congratulations Carter. Welcome to the ranks.
  13. Hello Matt. Welcome to FISD. Things appear to be progressing well.
  14. Welcome back Cody. Looking forward to seeing your build come along.
  15. Hi Melisa, Welcome to FISD. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  16. Welcome back Joe
  17. Welcome Sally. Looking forward to following your build
  18. Yes, they are just dressing issues and should be easily fixed. Not sure if you have elastic between your biceps and forearms, but that helps a lot with spacing. I totally understand the dressing alone issues.
  19. Hello Alexandre, Your armour looks great and other than some minor dressing issues, I feel it will be good for basic approval. My only concern that you may come across with approval could be the degree of weathering, The CRL calls for light scuffing or battle worn. Your armour appears to be more weathered than most I have seen but ultimately it will be up to your GML to decide if it is too weathered or not. With respect to dressing, your left shin is not closed completely at the back and your right shin is sitting a bit high. With the red shin and white velcro for closure, the opening becomes much more obvious as compared to all white TK's. With your right shin up slightly, it highlights the colour difference from wear on your boot. Some have used velcro on the front of the boot to hold the shin in place. Your forearms cold also come up slightly to make the gap between the biceps and forearm the same as the gap between the forearm and hand plate. Your left side looks good, the right needs slight adjustment.
  20. Hi Lucas, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! You have done a great job on fixing the frown, coverstrip, decal and blaster issues and even gone ahead and corrected several items that will be required for centurion level approval. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. 1. A small touch up is recommended for your vocoder. Could you please remove the pencil guide lines (blue arrows). Although not required for approval, if you would like a more clean look, when you are doing this, you may want to slightly lengthen the stripe marked in yellow on the left side in the photo to make it more symmetrical with the right side. References 2.Your small button plate could be shortened in length slightly to be more screen accurate. References *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. 1. The abdominal -kidney armour seam on the left side shows the hinge in the gap. This is a great method to connect the pieces but the hinge and gap should not be showing from the outside. CRL L3: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. A single visible seam line is present References 2. Your Han snap is sitting a bit too low. It will need to be moved up slightly. This will take a bit of work with ABS paste to fill the hole but looking at your work on the ab plate, you should have no problem with this.
  21. Hi Lucas, We are almost there and on going through your application a final time, there were a couple of things that I did not catch the first time around. Sorry for all of the back and forth but we want your armour to stand out at the higher levels. Could you please trim back the rear cover strip on your left thigh slightly as it extends a bit beyond the lower ridge CRL Basic: Cover strip must end at the top of the lower ridge in front and back. The decals for your tears and rear traps appear to not be put on smoothly and seem to have wrinkles in them. On the rear traps, this may be a lighting artifact. Could you please correct these or if this is just an optical effect from reflection, provide clearer photos to show that they are applied smoothly? Keep up the good work, you are very close now.
  22. Hi Lucas @lugalleg, great job on the fixes. While I work on your review, would you be able to send another photo of the Han snap , showing it a bit from the side. Yours appears to be thicker than it should be.
