I used a sharpened popsicle stick to remove my cover strips on my forearms when they needed adjustment. It lifts the parts off the E6000 glue nicely and does not run the risk of scratching the armour

Hi Lucas @lugalleg, Thank you for your EIB application. before we go ahead, there are a couple of items that will need to be fixed on your armour. 1. As mentioned by Glen above, we will need you to remove the excess grey paint from the gum area of the helmet. Only the teeth should be painted with the area above the cutouts left white. This may be achieved by carefully scratching the excess paint off with a toothpick dipped in mineral spirits / varsol. Do not use acetone as it will damage the plastic. CRL L1: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. A total of 8 cut outs in the teeth area of the frown are present. References 2. Your blaster looks great, but there are still some visible print lines that will require some further sanding. CRL L2: 3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines, and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. Please let us know if you need any further clarification.

Hi Mark. Welcome aboard. You look to be off to a great start and definitely have been given some good tips already. one thing you may want to consider if you think you will eventually apply for level 2 or 3 is to build it to that level from the start. It is much easier to do it while you are building than it is to try and modify it later. Keep posting lots of pictures and asking lots of questions. We are here to help you on this amazing journey.

Hi Lucas. I will be the DO reviewing your application. Before I begin, could you please add a few photos for me? 1. I will need a photo showing the wrist section of your forearms. The one you have in the application is of the elbow side of the forearm. I need a photo from this side as shown below. 2. Could you please also add a close up view of the ab and kidney plate rivets on the left side? Again, similar to the one in the photo below. 3. A photo showing your helmet viewed from behind. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. 1. Your helmet is sitting a little bit high on your head. This can easily be fixed by removing some of the padding on the top of the helmet. This will also likely improve your visibility some. References 2. Although not required, some black mesh placed inside of the helmet behind the frown will help to hide your face from people looking through the gaps. 3. It appears that your rank bars on the right ear are painted in the grooves and not on the top of the raised areas. Although this is not mentioned in the CRL, it would make the overall look more screen accurate. References 4. Your belt has some fraying along the top and bottom edges. Your costume will look alot cleaner if these are trimmed off. References *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. 1. A very simple adjustment should be made to your shoulder strap elastics by pulling them back just a touch to put them more to the back of the shoulder strap rather than in the middle area. CRL L3: The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. References 2. The gap between your shoulder bell and shoulder strap on the left is a bit wider than the one on the right. Ideally, the left shoulder strap should be brought in slightly to make them even. I suspect this is more of a dressing issue with the shoulder bell being pulled out a bit. If it is not, it will require a simple adjustment to the strap length. CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. References 3. Your Abdominal and Kidney plates are not lining up properly. The abdominal plate needs to come up and forward some to align better with the kidney plate. This may be achieved by adding some padding to the inside abdominal or kidney plates to reduce the overlap and bringing the abdominal plate up by adjusting while dressing or possibly modifying the strapping slightly between the abdomen and kidney plates to form a more secure seam to align the top edges. CRL L3: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. A single visible seam line is present. References 4. Your rivets on the left side of your kidney plate are a bit too far back. Your abdominal ones look correct however. We will need you to move the 3 rivets on the kidney plate forward slightly. This will take a bit of ABS paste work to patch the holes but will give a more screen accurate look in the end. CRL L3: Three rivets, approximately 5/16"(8mm) diameter, are present on the left side of the kidney plate. Note: The original rivets used for the TK armor were bifurcated rivets or split rivets. Rivets are equally spaced along the depth of the armor and about 10mm from the edge. The heads are rounded or domed. Note: Paperclip brads are not considered to have a domed head. Rivets are painted white. References 5. Your Belt needs to come up a bit so that the top of it is in line with the bottom button of the abdominal button panel. This can be achieved with a bit of velcro between the belt and abdominal armour. CRL L3: The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. References 6. A bit of filler in the gaps on the bottom of the thigh joint in the back will need to be applied. This can be done with ABS paste or Sugru. CRL L3: Lower thigh ridge joins (front and rear) shall butt-up flush against each other. Any gaps must be backed with ABS or filled as not to be noticeable. References 7. Your sniper knee plate is sitting just off of the proper angle with respect to the ridges of the shin. You likely will need to remove it and adjust it so it is sitting in the proper position. This can be tricky to achieve at times but there are lots of references and people here to assist you if you have any questions. CRL L2: Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. Hi Ray, I am going to ask for a slight modification before we can move ahead with your EIB approval. 1. The hand plates are not sewn to the gloves which from the photos do appear to be fabric and not rubber. To correct this, you likely will need to remove the elastic between the hand plate and the forearm and then sew the hand plates to the gloves. If I am incorrect, and the gloves are actually rubber, then they are fine as they are. CRL L2: If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching with a 5 point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, double stitched with 2 holes at each point and sewn to the glove at each one using black thread. I got mine last month after a 14 month wait. Supply issues were affecting his ability to make the units. Try to be patient. It is worth the wait.

Hi Dan. I will be the DO reviewing your application. I just need one thing before moving ahead with your application. There appear to be some print lines on your backpack. As the CRL states; CRL L2: 3-D printed backpack components can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance If this is the case, we will need you to do a bit of sanding to remove them. If it is just a paint finish artifact, could you please retake a photo similar to the one above showing this area in better detail. Thanks.

The only recommendation that we would make is watch the slight overlap of the back plate on the kidney plate on the right side. This is likely just a dressing issue or may need some slight strapping adjustments. Congratulations again. Well done.

Hi John. Amazing job on making the required centurion changes. You are so close but before approving you, I just need a few couple tweaks and 1 more photo. There is still a bit of return edge on the forearms. CRL L3: No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. References The right drop box is not aligned with the back edge of the belt. This likely just needs a bit of adjusting to the hook and loop you added. CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. References Could you please provide a photo of the back of the left thigh bottom? I am unable to ensure that the gap at the bottom is filled correctly as the holster is covering it. Just as an aside note, your kidney plate looks a bit crooked and is causing the right side of the back plate to overlap. As this is just a dressing issue, it does not affect your approval. Just something to watch for when getting kitted up.
