  1. Thanks Chemi, Hopefully be putting this into practice soon with trooping and application for advanced levels [emoji1696] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  2. Cool, thanks [emoji4][emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks [emoji4] Deliberately rotated them out a bit so that the thigh and shin coverstrips lined up better. Do you think the gap is a more important detail? Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  4. Think I'm all set for UKG basic clearance. While I'm waiting to find out can anyone spot any higher level clearance issues? (There is an elastic loop over both shoulder bridges, even though it doesn't look like it in the pics) Thanks [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks Joseph. Really appreciate all the compliments. Once approved for basic you'll definitely be seeing my advanced submissions! [emoji4] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  6. Cool, thanks (didn't know this ESB / ANH difference). Will leave as they are for now, but will wear a lot before trooping to see if there's an issue and adjust if necessary [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks [emoji106] Will sort thigh heights this week. Biceps are attached to shoulder bells by elastic so won't pop out, and deliberately had them as far down as I could because I have long limbs (even for someone 195cm tall). Would it be better to have larger gaps at the elbow and move the biceps higher up? Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks dude. It's been (literal) blood, sweat and tears, and worth every moment [emoji1]. Not signed off yet though [emoji37] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  9. Still gotta trim the thigh tops and kidney notches, attach back of boots to shins and just waiting for the final sniper knee. Otherwise, I 'think' finished. More pics tomorrow to see if there's stuff I've missed. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  10. That sounds good. Thanks, will look into doing the same [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  11. [emoji106] Thanks [emoji4] I was thinking something along the lines of the same plastic insert into the belt, but hadn't considered doing the whole belt. Can see that just doing a small section could be visible on the outside. I guess the easiest solution is to actually the holster as little as possible! Did you mention the belt buttons because you've seen too large a gap on my belt? Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  12. Hopefully less contentious question [emoji16] Is it OK at all levels to put a piece of abs inside the belt to stop sagging when the blaster is in the holster? Or can it create other issues? Is there another/better way to stop sagging? Thanks Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks Very kind of you to say Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  14. Hadn't realised that my earlier post had come across that way, sorry. Definitely didn't mean to imply I thought you'd given bad advice. I'm extremely grateful to all the help and advice you've given. This knee conversation has only come about because I trimmed too much off the trailing edge in the first place, and I totally put my hands up for that. The advice and suggestions from all concerned has been much appreciated, but in the end the 'best' solution was to just get the new knee, and that's fine. It's all just part of the learning curve [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Joseph I've ordered a new RWA knee, as getting this far and then having to 'make do' with something that isn't as close as I can make it feels like giving up at the last hurdle. Thanks for the extra pics. Plenty to refer to when trimming the new knee [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks Dan. I just want to go for what's right, and hopefully that ticks all boxes rather than having to choose between accurate and centurian. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Dan. Mine too based on your pics, but I guess it's the guys that sign off lvl 2 and 3 that I have to keep happy if I want Centurian (be a shame to miss out for the sake of a knee) Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  18. That pic from the UK thread is after trimming as per the advice, and there's no way that's going to get any better (I think fits worse). No problem. New knee on order and will start it again. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks Dan Playing devil's advocate a bit, is it that the higher levels go for the ideal of what the armour should be, rather than going for imperfections and inaccuracies in some screen used stuff? Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  20. No worries. Happy to put my hands up and say I didn't properly consult requirements re the trailing edge. Ordered a (hopefully final) new knee from Ross, and will pay more attention this time. All good [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  21. Trimmed a little off, and now on the edge of the plate fitting comfortably enough to glue without deforming. Looks like basic clearance only for this knee plate. Will get everything else up to scratch and down the line replace the knee (again) for higher clearance [emoji20] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  22. Cool, thanks. I'll start on that and try and get some more pics up in the next hour or so Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  23. Received the new sniper knee from Ross at RWA today. It's in 1mm abs, so much easier to cut and fit to the shin. My question here is, which is more important, for the centre of the sniper plate to sit flush with the coverstrip so there's no gap, or for the trailing edges to be in line with the top of the shin? Thanks Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  24. Brilliant. Thanks [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  25. What about the gap between thighs and shin? It's obvs much bigger than pretty much every ref pic I've seen, but not much I can do about it (I think). I'm about 195cm tall, and this is all the RWA XL plastics. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
