  1. I just added this photo to show that I filled the seam. The ammo pack sits on top of the bottom rim against the cover strip. I just added this photo as well.
  2. Oh, I already have sir! No time to waste!!!!
  3. I apologize for the crazy formatting. I had it all typed out in Google Docs and the copy/paste made it janky.

  5. Welcome to FISD! I just finished my first build and it was a ton of fun! I'm in the beginning stages of my son's TK now. One thing that caught my attention was that we are the same age and the fact that you have a Star Wars themed game room. My son is a sophomore in college and I am in the planning phase of converting the very large space that has been his bedroom into a Star Wars themed man cave. This is my next great adventure.

  7. I received my basic approval notification last night l and am awaiting my TK ID...the armor gods are making me sweat this one out.
  8. The knee angle looks good to me. Once you glue and clamp, the alignment should be pretty spot on. What I did was glue the center and one side first, allowing them to set for nearly 48 hours. Then I glued and clamped the other side. If you add another shim to the front, it may bring the sniper knee away from the shin too much. Just my 2 cents.
  9. Seems like an easy way to end up being #1001 or #1002. I couldn’t make that gamble personally.
  10. It’s been a week and I’m still awaiting basic approval. Hopefully I can have my app in soon. I’m getting super nervous.
  11. Do you think one sale could potentially have lasting implications when it comes to the cooperation between LFL and the 501st? If so, I would hope the higher ups would get out in front of it.
  12. I would get rid of that plus most, if not all of the return edge following the contour of the cod piece. That stuff won’t feel good after a lot of walking around.
  13. When I first read it, I felt really bad for him and was hoping it wasn’t too late to cancel his order.
  14. Yes, I was wondering about this myself on my build, but I compared mine to the ones in my son’s kit and realized that they were the same as his. The angles at the top are the same on each side of each leg if that makes sense. The inner right is the same top angle as the outer left. The curvature of the thigh is different though.
  15. Too bad I’m in the States. You’re probably a blast to hang out with.
  16. I believe he was pulling our legs.
  17. The disc magnets are definitely the way to go. The neodymium rare earth magnets are even stronger than the basic disc magnets. Most tutorials I have read recommend using them and they are very strong, so they can hurt you if you aren't careful. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0859MHLSG?pd_rd_i=B0859MHLSG&pd_rd_w=zJDqx&pf_rd_p=e75a99cf-81c4-40cb-bc86-6efa5f44f6cb&pd_rd_wg=lnbLU&pf_rd_r=4KY2BW53MXK6ZHZXR6QJ&pd_rd_r=22e8a4f7-c100-4cef-939e-5b60b7c973c9
  18. The Field Marshall E-11 would be nice to have, without a doubt. I don't have any experience trooping yet, but I don't know if I'd troop with that blaster or leave it in a display case. My first choice was Praetorian, but they would not respond to my messages to purchase, which is why I ended up purchasing the resin blaster from Quest Design for my first. Regarding the Imperial Arms blaster, my son just didn't have the budget to spend on an expensive blaster so he opted for the kit. I could have sworn that I had seen their products mentioned positively in a few threads here, but now I can't seem to locate them. I'm not a fan of the glossy finish in the photos either, but since he purchased the kit rather than the completed blaster, I'll be looking for the most accurate finish advice. Can the 3D print lines can be addressed during the build process with filling and sanding? I'm getting the feeling I may have been volunteered for a lot of work.
  19. That’s Imperial Arms. They make a good blaster from what I have heard. I recently ordered their E-11 kit for my son’s build. I also purchased the Quest Design Canada E-11 on Etsy and just received it. I’m very happy with it.
  20. I’m very impatiently waiting on basic approval. Some minor things have been addressed and I’m chomping at the bits to post my application.
  21. I found this thread while searching for modifications to the Quest Designs Canada E-11. The images links are no longer active. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/36185-anh-e-11-blaster-modification-of-the-quest-design-canada-blaster/
  22. I found this video very helpful. Although my ears are not perfect, Eric Dyke's AM 4.5 helmet tutorial series helped me tremendously throughout the process. Here is his video on ear trimming.
