  1. When you can't aim, spray. That BFG tho! Sorry, not much constructive to add here other than to affirm what Adam already stated and say that you'll need a lot of references from all angles to build a new CRL. Also, below is a link to another discussion of this trooper from back in 2020. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49276-fallen-order-heavy-assault-stormtrooper/ Goodness that drop box alignment just seems so wrong to my ANH eyes.
  2. As the others have said, your bucket already looks GREAT as-is! And so does your whole kit in general! I think you're spot on with just dropping the forearms a bit to even the bicep-forearm and forearm-handplate gaps. Are we gonna see a Pre-Approval post from you soon?!
  3. Brilliant! Congrats trooper! Once it's official with your TK ID and your Legion profile is set up, you can request full member (Stormtrooper) access here on FISD through the link below. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/
  4. As Daniel already said, that extra leather material on the back is to provide you with flexibility on strap length. If you had a baster that didn't quite fit you could extend the strap and either punch in your own new holes, or use the second one that Darman pre-punches. Looks like Mario also already hit you up with a list of AM builds. Man, I do particularly love A.J.'s build... so much so that I compiled a PDF of it to print or view on a tablet or mobile device. Haha. Have you already ordered your boots from Imperial Boots, now known as KeepTrooping.com? That's a link to the white 421s that are excellent, and they currently have a production wave open right now! Also I gotta mention something about thermal detonators, which who knows, I may have already told you at some point. Dave makes my favorite one (proper diameter size and colored tube), but I do still prefer to use Tony's (Ukswrath) clips. I'm looking forward to your BBB Day, and I'm sure the anticipation is killing you too! Soon and very soon!
  5. Looking good Dimitri! One thing that will help the ab and kidney come together, if it's just a case of overly-stretchy elastic, is your main belt. Once you put that on you can tighten it to help pull your ab and kidney together. On my build I also used non-stretchy nylon on one side the ab-kidney so that the pieces don't pull away from each other. As for your straps not feeling strong, you can always fold them them over themselves so that the elastic is 2 or 3 layers thick where the rivets go through them. Some troopers even put a small scrap piece of ABS plastic inside the elastic folds to add even more reinforcement. I see you're also using washers, which will also help keep the rivets from pulling through the elastic, or the ABS for that matter. Keep up the good work!
  6. "I can't wait to build this Stunt kit to at last EI. CENTURION."
  7. My HWT build is about to be revitalized, so I’d be curious where we land on the tube plate for L2 and L3. Luckily I have a pair of shoulder bridges so I could make both versions if necessary.
  8. As others have said, it was certainly a stressful ordeal with my first cut, but it truly did get easier after that. The key to remember is to cut shallow, taking off only a little at a time while you’re still getting comfortable. You can always cut off more material with a second or third pass of the Lexan scissors, but it’s very difficult to add plastic back if you over cut. I would also recommend starting your first couple of cuts with straight runs to get accustomed to how the scissors slice through the plastic. Although you may already have experience with that from your Mando project. Then you can move onto the curved pieces. I’d also work on the less visible armor components first, such as the biceps that are largely hidden underneath the shoulder bells. Backwards facing pieces are also less prominent that those in the front. Hopefully this helps! We’re here to assist, and it it sounds like you also have a local contingent at your disposal!
  9. Adam, Luca, and I having a friendly pauldron debate for the past several days, mostly consisting of us jokingly giving Luca a hard time. In other news...
  10. Welcome, Dan! Definitely check out that link that Mario posted for choosing your armor. You'll find that some armor kits are better for smaller troopers, some of medium build, and others for larger/taller builders. Post up as you narrow your search! RS is good, and has screen lineage, but there are also many other fantastic options to choose from. Once you get going the link that Glen posted in the very first response to your initial post will provide you with a great starting point for armor assembly. We look forward to following along with you on your very own stormtrooper journey!
  11. General Kenobi. Welcome back, Tyler, and congrats on fervently getting on the path of shiny white armor! Glen pointed you well on AM armor, and the resource thread link he posted will also likely be very helpful. Once you get to building, be sure to post lots of photos and ask lots of questions; we will be here ready to help you along on your journey! Caleb
  12. Excellent work to supplement your build, Ardeshir! No doubt many troopers will find it helpful.
  13. Hi Rob! Trooperbay does have some general stencils which can be used for the tube stripes, but really there’s not much benefit to having them for the traps (masking tape works just as well). I’m on my phone right now without a direct link to the web listing, but I’m sure I linked to them on my ATA build thread. Also on the first post of my thread I link to a PDF document of my build thread and at the beginning of that I have a whole section of every item/supply/ tool I used, as well as a purchase link. That being said, Trooperbay also changed their website so I’m not sure if my old links will work (I plan to update them at some point). Hope this helps!
  14. With my ANH Stunt build finally complete (though I still need to catch up on updating that thread) and approved to L3 I'm now turning my attention to the first of three conversions. First out of the gate will be the ESB variant since it will require the least amount of work, and my goal is to complete it to L3 standards. At this point I've acquired all the components needed and below is my conversion checklist. Helmet (using my raffle-won WTF bucket) Remedy brow trim height (lower) Strip all existing paint except on hovi tips Apply ESB decals from Trooperbay Re-sand and paint frown teeth black Touch up white hardware paint on ears, improve countersink holes Finesse ear fitment to face and cap (sanding) Sand hovi tips for clean white rim look (currently has black over-paint) Reinstall fallen-out hovi tip mesh (already proper wider variety) Armor/Other Convert ANH holster with tan straps to black looped ESB style New belt from Imperial Issue (Rob Kittell) to eliminate ANH holster screw holes New rubber gloves from Joseph (downsized to small from previous medium) Clamshell hand guards from Joseph (unsure of armor maker) ESB Hellhounds E-11 blaster (lacking hengstler counter and power cylinders) RESOURCES TK: ESB CRL Justin's Anovos ESB Conversion Luca's RS ESB Conversion ESB Expert Infantry Visual Checklist ESB Centurion Visual Checklist TheRascalKing's (Justin) Anovos Centurion submission CallMeMrTibbles (Richard) RWA Centurion submission Cleantrooper (Brett) TM Centurion submission giskard8 (Arthur) TM Centurion submission Table of Contents (links updated as posts completed) Introduction Post with Checklist and Resources Helmet Modifications Belt and Holster Conversion Clamshell Handguards Hellhounds E-11 Submission Photos

  15. Thanks Terry! I took the long road on my armor build, but if it’s any comfort to you, I had never constructed anything like it, costume or otherwise, before. Just take things slow, check references and guides, post lots of photos, and ask lots of questions. I think you’ll find a great many troopers, including myself, who will be happy to Volunteer (haha) their input. By the way, though my armor is from ATA, Dave makes my preferred thermal detonator (I have eight from various armor makers), so great job on getting onboard with AM! Oh, and I’m a Sunday football kinda guy, and actually neither TN nor GA. #BroncosCountry #WeAreTerrible
  16. Woohoo! MBB (medium brown box) days are super exciting too! I remember when my first blaster arrived in the mail.
  17. CONGRATS!!!
  18. Congrats Andrew and Joseph! I’m looking forward to a first full term of membership with you at the helm!
  19. Cool cool. Either way I'm repainting since I'm not happy with the ear paint the bucket came with. I actually just spoke with Mike at Trooperbay a few minutes ago and he said he's actually mixed a little bit of Testors 1110 blue in with the 1138 gray to achieve a closer match with his decals. For kicks and giggles I may try that just to see how close I can get. Worst case I'll just go with the standard 1138 gray.
  20. Dude. I started my ESB conversion! Stripped the paint on a WTF helmet I had and am going to be painting the teeth soon. I do need to figure out what I'm going to do about the gray on the ears, which, as you pointed out, is darker on ANH than the ESB decals. I might need to go source another shade of gray enamel.
