If you've pissed your GML team off before, they're gonna make you shoot on a different background.
Good call, thank you.
(I did order a new backdrop for future submissions, thanks to @equuspolo for the link)

Anything jump out before EIB? I don't intend to submit for Centurion.

Yep, Rebels Stormtroopers are still around and approvable. I believe Walt of WTF ended up with the molds and even recently offered a run of kits! Look him up on Facebook if you need a helmet.

It's hard to believe I headed down this rabbit hole over three years ago. Here we are, finally submitted for approval - 3 years, 4 different FOTK suits owned(/sold), from 4 different armor makers, parts from over a dozen vendors, a new house and workshop, and a new baby along the way since I've started.
Thanks for looking!

Is it confirmed that gold leaf was used specifically in the cracks? I get the larger patches (and Enoch) using gold leaf, but logically I'd assume the cracks are just painted, or filled using something like gold Rub'nBuff? Would the costume team/artists really have gone to the length of gold leafing all the cracks on not one, but multiple sets of armour..?
Has anyone done tests on filling dremelled cracks with gold leaf? I can't imagine it being consistent nor easy.Having heard from someone who worked on the suits, they were originally gold leafed, and then switched to gold paint for repairs, so there was plenty of both on screen.
However, requiring gold leaf at any level does not sound like a reasonable proposal for hobbyists. I would advocate for an open-ended wording and not specifying the source of the gold color in the CRL.
What is the latest status of this CRL?

@Nairy - just wanted you to know that you were the very first thing I ever printed to test out my new resin printer! Scaled at like... 8% haha
I definitely did some damage in my enthusiasm to rip the supports off, so lesson learned there, but overall, very happy with this little guy and he lives on the shelf in my workshop now. Thanks for making this file available to us!
Printed in about 4 hours with Anycubic High Speed Resin.

Congratulations troopers!
It's wonderful to see our hardworking members be recognized for their contributions and hopefully this will be a regular occurrence in the new term.

I love it and support your efforts! Looks like there is plenty of reference to compare to and warrant a new ROTJ-based Heavy CRL. Good luck and keep us posted!

Wondering if that would be a viable option for use with thinner and a spray gun?
At that point, have the paint code Glen provided mixed, imo.
Stay tuned though, I have a project I've been working on that I'll share shortly and it may help with your decision if you're not in a rush.

I purchased one of these recently for this purpose, if it helps!

Ohhhh, I remember now - we talked on Facebook. Gotcha - well, it looks like Glen has you sorted as to photos, so keep us posted with how it goes and you can always keep Gio as a backup. Happy crafting!

Many of us have switched to Behr Premium No. 52 Gloss White, if it is available in your region. It sprays significantly nicer than the previously recommended Rust-Oleum rattle cans, matches the Denuo Novo white ABS decently well, and is still decently inexpensive. I don't own or want to invest in an HVLP spray gun system at this time, so mixing custom automotive colors wasn't really an option.

Unless you're a professional cobbler, I might just give Gio at Crow Props a shout, as he makes custom sized boots regularly.

It's been asked and answered at length, and it's probably not what you want to hear, but in short - the juice really isn't worth the squeeze to print a full set of Stormtrooper armor at this time, IMO.
The available files aren't very accurate, slicing and re-joining large parts that need to flex is not practical, and there are several options available in ABS at a reasonable price point. You will likely spend the same amount of money on filament/resin, WAY more time filling, sanding, and painting, and still end up with an inferior product that is less accurate in appearance and less durable by comparison. It can be done, but it would take a real passion for the project.
There is a reason we have not seen a single 3D printed suit come across for approval here on the forums, though it does depend on your local GML's application of the CRL standards at Basic if one can be approved at all. But it is not common. Some day, as printers get bigger and prices come down, maybe. /$0.02

One other detail would be good to address, the overlapping of the belt on the sides, (when there not covered with gaffa tape).
I believe there are enough references showing both back overlap front and front overlap back, shouldn't matter which way as long as it's closed

IMO, allow both since there is clearly precedent and don't let these things keep you up at night when there are already so few people building these kits to standard, let alone submitting them here.

I am looking for either chrome or polished steel parts for the f-11d, but I can’t find a solution. Anyone know where I could get some?
They exist, but I'm not aware of anyone consistently producing them at the moment for sale.

Hello and welcome! AM from Dave's Darkside Depot may be the best choice for you here in the US, pending how your weight is carried, but many maker's kits can be modified to fit your frame. Good luck with your research and ask plenty of questions!
