  1. Aw, that's not what I was hoping to hear! Still hoping we see a completed suit and CRL for this soon! What aspects of the McFlyPrint3D files remained that were problematic?
  2. @Tanz Hoping for some updates still - how did this turn out...?!
  3. I agree - looking really positive and you definitely have an eye for it. Keep it up, we need more good New Gen armor options!
  4. Personally, I plan to just hit it with either the Spraymax automotive 2k gloss white, or just the Behr Premium No 52 Gloss White, and then not polish or clear it unless I get orange peel. Or if I do clear, 1k and/or semi-gloss or satin if I can find a product I like. 2k cans are expensive and can't be used for small touchups easily (once you crack one, you gotta use it). The suit is GOING to rub all over the place, especially at first, so you want it easy to repair, so I've just been leaning towards the cheaper Behr paint. It's gonna yellow over time either way, but I've been wiping my suits down with Aerospace303 and we'll see if that helps. I've got all of the MPSB parts printed (below, plus the shins and ab, and an S&T + all the parts for a proper E-11 build) and plan to use those to submit for Centurion, but may end up building the rest of the suit out of printed ABS (I have a K2+) from the Akira Yuming files in time. I have exactly one arm piece post-processed, three other suits I want to finish building first, and a second baby due in April lol So I've just been low-key advising some of the other guys that are printing and finishing these at a high level until I get around to redoing mine. I'm happy to help and learn from you guys too.
  5. I've been loosely following along and boy howdy do I have a lot to say, but let's start with the important things: - Your head is in the right place and the research is coming together and looking great! I've been planning a revamp of my suit with printed parts for a while now and just haven't gotten through the sanding and prep. - I would absolutely not recommend 2K clear coating the suit. It makes it too glossy for accuracy, and you'll just need to sand through clear and white when you get cracks. Clearing my ROTK is one of my biggest regrets on the build. Good luck!
  6. I use these Duty Belts from Amazon and make my own drops with 1.5" nylon web, triglide buckles, and line 24 snaps with corresponding anchors E6000'ed into the thighs. It works well for me - easy to put on, comfortable, and the velcro on the belt helps keep the drops from drifting side to side. Hope that helps!
  7. Agreed. I don't believe all suits had the ribs for Rogue One/early Mando, but all of the newer ones do have ribs at the hip to my knowledge. I have an early two-piece suit from Jim, and it does not have ribs (but probably could by request), and the one-piece Keep Trooping suit does have ribs.
  8. The only two makers of proper Rogue One/New Era style undersuits that I'm aware of are Keep Trooping (left) and Jim Tripon (right). I happen to own both of their undersuits and to have worn a production undersuit. Jim's is great and well made, but the Keep Trooping is as close as we'll likely get to the studio ones and is fantastic. Both feature the hexagonal mesh detail in the armpit and both should qualify for L3.
  9. https://keeptrooping.com/product/new-era-undersuit/ Hands down the best one currently available.
  10. I'm here too haha Welcome!
  11. I have quite a bit of experience with Denuo Novo armor and the Anovos armor before it, and it happens to be my favorite of the suits available out there. It all comes down to what you want and value in a suit though, and every maker has its positive and negative points. The new DN armor is thicker than the Anovos stuff was (especially the V2/3 runs with the copyright decals on them), so that's positive. It is definitely a "cleaned up" version of the ANH armor, so the details in the pulls are sharper and a little more consistent, but they did retain all of the correct dimensions and asymmetry that are the hallmarks of the character. I usually say that a properly built Anovos/DN suit more closely aligns with what people THINK/expect a Stormtrooper to look like, while something like an RS suit is much closer to how wonky they ACTUALLY were on set. I usually recommend RS to collectors for display, and DN to those who want to troop in their suits, as DN has made a few other minor concessions in accuracy to allow for a more durable and comfortable suit (things like a hard plastic lens, better helmet padding, velcro closure over bra hooks for the shins, etc). Note though that replacement parts are not readily available, and that shimming or expanding the suit for larger wearers is a challenge with matching the color of the plastic, so it's great... if it fits you. There is also a fantastic reference guide from Ukswrath available to assist with your build, and the suit has clear cut lines molded in that are about 90% accurate and make trimming a breeze. They also cut the coverstrips in advance for you, which is nice. If it does anything for you, Anovos armor is what most of us that do regularly character performance work for LFL wear, and what more than half of us wore in The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi shows. So yes, it's good armor and can easily be built to Centurion standards. If it's what you want. But that's up to you. Individuals can share their preference all day, it's just the actual detachment itself that is discouraged from promoting a particular brand. Oh, and a final note - ANH helmets are out of stock at the moment due to difficulty in sourcing the plastic for them, and may not return until some time next year, per my last conversation with Mark at DN, so that's a consideration as well.
  12. Hey cool, thanks! I've requested access to the Drive to check it out since it is set to private, and hopefully an admin can move this to a more proper home in the 3D File Repository.
  13. I realized that many of my image links on the thread were broken, so I went through and replaced/upgraded them! Bumping if anyone is looking for a new project! 😉 A few of these are close, but not across the line yet... Looking forward to updating them.
  14. Working on weathering and proper Gauge-specific forearm rails as well!
  15. If you already bought the other one, I wouldn't trip since it looks to be similar, but if you haven't ordered, I do like the BSI line of CA glues. It still dose haze a little, so be judicious where it's visible, but it's a good product. Happy to send you a clean resin printed one and will respond via PM shortly. Several went out without those or D-rings so I've been helping ensure at least all the E-11 orders have been made whole.
  16. This is the exact stuff that Daniel typically uses to assemble his blasters and has worked well - I think several of them that were rushed out around the time of Joshua Tree may have had something else used that has gone brittle. Absolutely agree with Joseph about a good clean and scuff prior to regluing. If you have any issues or need support for your Hellhounds blaster, let me know - for example, I'm happy to send you out a replacement fire position selector. https://www.amazon.com/IC-2000-Rubber-Toughened-1oz-Adhesive-Glue/dp/B002N507I0/
  17. I believe the three larger buttons are for that panel if you want to go Sandy. It also appears you have overtrimmed the 5-button center panel - it should have a frame of material around the raised section. The buttons need to be physically raised, not just painted on. I believe these may be the 3 rivet covers for your plastic ammo belt. Dave is pretty good about sending out replacement parts and his white ABS is difficult to color match, so I would reach out to him to receive the parts you need if you don't have them. Good luck!
  18. As of a couple months ago, I can no longer add direct image links from Imgur on my phone either, only on PC. Idk why either, but likely a change on their end.
  19. I'd be happy to send you the holster files that I worked with Mr.Poopie to develop, which include the holster riser, if you'd like to give those a try. Let me know!
  20. Congrats on your BBB day and beginning your adventure! Glen nailed it above. I'll add some news after speaking with Mark from Denuo Novo at San Diego Comic Con this weekend - unfortunately, they are having ABS supply issues and helmets are unlikely to be in stock again any time soon, potentially into next year. While you can focus on the armor in the meantime, if you happen to see a NIB one on a secondhand or auction site, I would grab it!
  21. Pssst, Denuo Novo is 10% off and free domestic shipping site wide this week for an SDCC sale, and in the past, if you've registered for their mailing list, they sent you a 10-15% coupon that would stack, so now is a great time to test that out and grab your armor! Hopefully helmets are back in stock soon. Not much to do other than familiarize yourself with Tony's guide and grab your supplies and accessories. Maybe cut some inner cover strips. Good luck and be sure to start a build thread!
