  1. Life has been quite busy lately, even more so recently since my wife gave birth. Both Mom and baby are well and healthy, and little did I know just how special that day was. Introducing Christopher Luke.. born September 25th; which also happens to be Mark Hamill's birthday as well!

  3. Been away for a bit due to other projects or obligations with work. Making the rank of staff sergeant has made things a bit busier for sure. Plus, currently finishing my 1/2 Bandai BB-8 and will soon start a 1:1 scale mouse droid build to keep myself busy between troops. Figure it's time to start keeping track before I get too far behind. Will add pictures as I can upload them. My fiancé got her Imperial Officer approved and trooped the last 3 events with me. 4. I painted the inside of mine but found that after a few troops I would be left with paint on my face where it rubbed during wear as well as getting the helmet on/off. So after the tedious process of removing the paint, I used the lining from a full face motorcycle helmet to fit into the bucket.
  5. Making progress for sure. But when you assemble your belt assembly to hold up your thigh pieces, just try to close the gap as much as possible. You'll also want the shoulder bells to be pulled in as close to your shoulder straps as much as possible. If the top of the bell can touch the plastic shoulder strap then even better, since you are aiming for centurion. As for mobility, you can add the cuts to the back of your leg pieces. But per the CRL update, be sure the cuts don't extend past the raised edge. Again, an example with how I did my cuts. Keep up the good work!
  6. Also try to get the thigh armor as close as possible to your torso to lessen the gap as well as give your knees more space to bend so you can walk somewhat normally. And it's difficult to tell for sure with only one thigh armor on, but to me, the bottom section of it seems like it could be trimmed and brought in closer to your leg to give it a better fit and shape. I had to do the same for mine during my approval process.
  7. Looking good so far! For your helmet you can open up the teeth a bit more as well if you haven't already since you posted. And for the straps, I doubled up my elastic to keep things tight and also used a square piece of canvas strap material to keep the elastic from pulling off the snap during a troop while suiting up/down.
  8. Hello and good luck with your build! If you can get an image link via the app then maybe you can just paste it to your post? I use my laptop when needing to post with pictures due to the forum's code handling. Also for the cod piece, you'll definitely want to trip enough to be able to stand and walk comfortably without hard plastic or sharp edges making your first troop a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. Test fitting as you go will give you a better idea of where you need to trim
  9. Looking great so far! The locking tabs are a very neat idea, hopefully they will stand up to the rigors of trooping. Don't worry about what's left. Enjoy the journey and the learning experience of building your armor. Once you get your approval and go for the first troop it will be worth the time and effort.
  10. I agree that you should be fine for basic approval. But to give the armor an overall better look, try adjusting your straps to bring your forearms and thighs up a bit. Good luck on your TK approval
  11. Thanks! And yeah it was a great time for sure. Last year I almost passed out from the heat and from being new to wearing the armor. haha This year was a lot better and I outlasted the others until we took a lunch break.
  12. Had to believe it's already been a year since my first troop at the 2017 Comic Con, before I got my 501st approval. This year was slightly smaller and we are missing Vader and Kylo, but it was a lot of fun and it was nice suiting up again. Was a great weekend to celebrate my birthday and then troop the next day. 13. Good luck on the approval! It's a pretty tough wait but you should be fine and get that TK ID soon enough
  14. Good luck on your approval Jon. I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been mentioned. I took my own submission photos as well, but I had it record as video so I could make sure everything was in its proper place using a full length mirror. I went back and saved the frames I needed showing every side and sent those to my GML.
  15. I'm in Japan and Joseph still got the screws to me pretty quick. So even though it can be difficult to wait; it's always worth it in the end to do it right and will make the Centurion approval go a lot smoother. I also noticed the gray for the lenses. Gray is only approvable with the Hero builds right?
  16. Hello Jason! Great looking build and should be an easy pass for basic approval for ANH Stunt. If you are aiming for EIB, why not Centurion as well? It looks like you are already on the right track. One thing I noticed that would need to be changed for lvl 2 is that your gloves will have to be black rubber material chemical gloves. As for the gap on the back, maybe shorten some straps and bring up the kidney, butt, and front ab armor as much as possible. This should hopefully close the gap while keeping your side connections clean and level. I also noticed one of your button plates seem to be flipped the wrong way, with the blue on top instead of the bottom.
  17. Hello Rodney, looks like you're getting closer to basic approval. My question is if you are going for ANH Hero or Stunt? The helmet looks like a Stunt build but your holster is connected with 4 screws which would be the Hero method. I also noticed on the small ab button plate with the 4 buttons. The blue button is at the top, when it's suppose to be at the bottom. Hopefully you used E6000 and can flip it around without much trouble. I linked a thread that should have some helpful diagrams when it comes to building a TK.
