Hydraken’s ANH stunt build AM 2.0
CableGuy replied to Hydraken's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Tapatalk appears to be working again, FYI. Great progress with your build, btw. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thanks for the constructive feedback, Chris. Let’s hope they fix it soon. There seems to be a clear drop in forum activity whenever Tapatalk issues come up, so it appears to be a popular tool with members, and one that increases forum traffic and interactivity. As an IA, it certainly makes it easier for me to try and help people with only a few taps. I wonder if there are any forum stats regarding this? Posts made from different sources? Image hosting choices etc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great job, Colin. Welcome to the ranks. Centurion next? Btw, it’s all about those sexy counter numbers. ;-) lol Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Good stuff. :-) Yeah, I know the feeling. I have two lids from different suppliers and the vocoder moulds are significantly different. Keeping us on our toes. Lol Keep it up though, mate. The lid painting is probably the hardest part, so once it’s out the way, you’re closer than ever to being a trooper. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Craig No worries mate. Wasn’t meant at a criticism- just tips that helped me when I did mine. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey buddy, If the painting is causing you troubles, here’s some good tutorials that helped me during my lid painting. Trooperbay - very useful videos showing the lid painting Trooperbay has videos covering each section of the lid too. For the traps and tears, there are two main methods. 1. Paint the grey parts and then paint a fine black line (pinstripe) around the edge 2. Paint the black parts and then “fill in” the grey after the black has dried (my preferred method) This is my own (very brief) video of my build. Around 40 seconds you’ll see the second method. There are many more detailed photos in my thread if it’s helpful. Keep up the good work, sir. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Requesting Pre-Approval (walt) TK
CableGuy replied to Patrick Zapata's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Hi Patrick, Looks like you’re getting there. As it stands, it looks like some dressing issues and perhaps a few trimming fixes that could make things a little neater. Here’s some bits that I’d be tempted to look at: The green circles are areas where you could try to reduce the black gaps. Shoulders - shortening the shoulder bell straps/elastics would help to bring those shoulder bells in. Shoulder bridges - for better accuracy, the plastic bridges that go from the chest plate over your shoulder to the back plate should be permanently fixed to the chest plate. Forearm/bicep gap - I would suggest lowering your biceps to bring them much closer to your forearms. Forearms - possibly a little girthy? These usually taper down towards the wrist. Thighs - it looks like your thighs could come up a bit, closer to the cod area. Leg allignment - this is just a dressing issue, however, lining up the cover strips on the thighs and shins (blue lines) will improve the overal look. Coverstrips - the coverstrips on your arms look a little bigger than normal. These are usually (not set in stone) around 15mm. Legs approx 20mm and calves around 25mm. These do not have to be exactly as above, these are just closer to screen accurate. Belt - it looks like you might have quite a bit of excess plastic above and below the ammo packs on the belt. It might also be a little long. Once you have those higher quality photos we can have a closer look. Also, if you can get close up photos of parts, such as belt, helmet, blaster, fixings etc and we can guide you a little further. Sorry its it’s a long list, however most parts are just adjustong where things sit so shouldn’t be to daunting. Best wishes Dan -

Hiya. Best bet is to upload your images to a sharing site, such as Imgur, then share the links in your thread. :-) -

TK41774 requesting EIB status ANH STUNT (RS) [839]
CableGuy replied to vmax1974's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Dave, Looking great! Just a couple of little bits that could take your kit to the next level. You could consider extending the frown paint beyond the 5th, undrilled hole; And, whilst it’s not technically inaccurate (as ANH kits had gaps all over the place), you could possibly put a little spare ABS behind the gaps on your thigh joins. (I did the same on mine - just neatens it up a little) Good luck with approval. Best wishes Dan -
Hi Rodney Looks like you’re heading in the right direction. Just a few bits that I’d mention: Your belt is setup for Hero, whereas your helmet appears to be Stunt based. It also looks like the fixing that hold the plastic ammo pack to the canvas belt are visible. As pictured, these should be covered by the plastic tabs. The stripes in your helmet “traps” look a little like ESB style. ANH has closer lines. As Randy mentioned, your backplate seems quite a way away from your back. You could try reshaping the tops parts (highlighted) or raising the back plate a little to sit on your shoulders better. You have some sharp edges in places which could damage your undersuit. You might want to check some reference photos and trim these back a little. And finally, I can’t quite work out what’s going on with your thigh cover strips at the rear. Do you have any higher quality photos? Keep up the good work. You’re getting closer. Dan
