Haha Sorry about that - oops wait no I`m not

My thoughts exactly Had planned on yet another TM but also really wanted the direct lineage that RS provides and It fits perfectly on the sandtrooper look as you say. Although I got a pair of Shins from TM to use with the build as I like them better. (got them today as it happens - super-fast as TM shipped just 1 day after my order, thank you Paul) I say get it! Use the "spare" to go ESB for another Centurion

Looking good and now you got me thinking to have the same approach with my Sandy-build (UPS says my RS will be delivered tomorrow *yeey*)
-
Looking at the ref pic that Joseph provided, you can go either way - straight or more round and most helmets as you can see have a mix of both. Have you started a build thread? If not I suggest you do so and then you can receive all the help in one spot

Yepp, basic is a slam dunk for you as well and by the looks of things L2 and L3 should be within your grasp and as Dan said - helmet frown is spot on

Sha Sha's (Slow) KB/850/3D printed FOTK Build for Short Troopers
TheSwede replied to shashachu's topic in TFA Build Threads
Yeey have fun with the build, still waiting on KB to ship mine so this build will be nice distraction (or quite possible make me more impatient to get it) -
FodiChan Requesting TK Pre-Approval Review
TheSwede replied to FodiChan's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Congratulations Trooper -
Right you are - the original armor did not have does ridges on the biceps...so only option with the kit you have is to leave the ridges big enough for the cover strips but best option if possible would be to get rid of them altogether.

Based on the pics you got this, only a matter of applying - great job

excellent work - carry on

March 2018 Request for CRL Updates thread
TheSwede replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Here“s how I figured: In ESB the gloves were satin or silk (not to sure which) with the handguards sewn to them? Then I figured from reading the existing CRL that having the silk/satin gloves with handguards sewn on could fit a L3 and L2 with rubber or silk/satin with the handguards fixed with elastic and the basic "any" glove (rubber/nomex etc with hanguards securely mounted with means velcro/glue/elastic/sewn or any other method that keeps it secure on the glove. This was just what came to mind when I read it. Or: no L3 is needed and just ad (as you have) silk/satin to gloves L2. -
Follow up question: have you strapped the torso together when trying the fit? At that sweet-spot hight you should get the fit right just by doing so (almost anyway, depending on your torso/lower body ratio) and then see how/if the back tabs, neckline needs work

March 2018 Request for CRL Updates thread
TheSwede replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Was looking at the ESB CRL and found that the silk/satin glove is missing in "gloves" and a follow up question would be: should L2 only allow for silk/satin gloves or should that be a new L3? Hand Plates These shall be clam shell, or snowtrooper-style hand plates and not the trapezoidal design seen in A New Hope. The hand plates shall be mounted securely over the back of the glove. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): If rubber gloves are worn the hand plates are affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching pattern using black cotton, with a five point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, and needs to be double stitched at each point. Gloves Black in color, made of either rubber, nomex, leather, or leather-like material, with no visible straps or logos/designs. The fingers are enclosed, non-textured. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Gloves shall be rubber or rubber-like chemical gloves, in black. -
Got some great progress and maybe on your to-do-list but anyways....looking at this pic you could benefit from removing more of the inner return edge (more "comfy" when walking and less rubbing of thighs) Included some pics of the RS suit to give you an idea how I mean and it`s just a suggestion, other than that - keep up the good work
-
To help the bells come closer to the bicep and chest I suggest some elastic glued to the bell as seen below on Luke -----------
-
As you said, the backplate tabs could benefit some reshape (if the back plate sits as high as it can) and to help with that I suggest you remove more of the returns as it`s prone to cracking even when heated. The chest plate looks like it`s in the right position (nice and high) so my advise here would be triming more of the return edge to make it less "choking"

Which way does the forearm armor go?
TheSwede replied to TK11057's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Ahh! My bad and to clarify my blunder: the RS suit is a screen used suit in the possession of RS Prop Master studio, hence the name, however both suits have been used in the movie -

As Greg mentioned the alignment and bunching issue he had I feel the need to point out that on my builds I used the screen accurate method (like you see above) and to be perfectly clear, theres nothing wrong in using a different way, that`s not the point I`m trying to make - important. Just to state that I had no issue with alignment or bunching using the same method as they did on the Movie. Feel free the check my builds and video by using the links under the Nordic Garrison logo And...check out Gregs build too, lots of great info there -

What Mathias showed you is the right arm from the RS suit (Movie accurate) and as Brien mentioned the cover strips should line up. here`s another ref pic for you and you can find them all in the gallery (Still the right arm) ----------- -
March 2018 Request for CRL Updates thread
TheSwede replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Well...I guess I should post this here as well (just did in another thread) My take on the matter is that since it has been proven that the large tab on the rear is non-existing on the Movie-suits it should barely pass basic. Beeing Expert Infantry and having something that`s clearly not on the suit seem very odd to me. For sake of argument: having a total of ten teeth cut out is not approvable even though it can be found in the Movie so why should something that`s not on any suit be approvable? Just beacause some makers make them that way? They need to improve their molds and to help larger Troopers then just ad more smaller tabs. Think of it as to shiming the sides, you`re extending the part, not altering it. -
Should cutting off the back of shoulder straps be allowed?

Well...Star Wars changed the way we look at Movies in 1977 so my guess is: 77
