1. Would you like to demo this thing, Camp? It will be black, for that is the only color of tint that I have right now. Just shoot me your address.
2. Update 3/3/17 Final product. About as screen accurate as you can get, without knowing what was actually used. Built in magets hold it in place. Durable but easy on your painted armor. Made of vinyl, with an EVA core. Light, sturdy and durable. Email [email protected] $125 + shipping Update. This is the final prototype, ready to wear. I will post in the appropriate location when I am ready to take orders.
3. I use DevCon epoxy or the ACE Hardware plastic welder. I've tried both CA and E6000.
4. I could, but I'm more of a mold maker. I hate sewing. They certainly look vinyl in the movie though. If I can't get a close enough match, I'll scrap this project.
5. I built this for a friend. Two piece, Durable, thick, black rubber, as screen accurate as I can get at this time. These will cost $100 - $150 I can do them in red, white and black. If there is interest, I will do a run for the detachment. Sound off here. At least ten parties of interest will get this run started.
6. It's like watching your friend get robbed.
7. Your image server doesn't allow hot linking but I got around it by cutting and pasting.

Awesome share!
8. Yes we have. But we appreciate your enthusiasm.
9. I've had a few folks try to commission a sculpt, but to be honest, I'm a little bit afraid to. OK, a lot afraid.
10. Wow. Lots of work there. Looking good. Thanks for sharing.
11. No. The only reason I used plasti-dip or spray truck bed lining was to reinforce the thin styrene or ABS. I really see no reason to use it for injected plastic. I used flat black Krylon Fusion for the inside of a couple MR helmets, which are about the same, and they looked sweet. If you are going with a sound system in your bucket, the plasi-dip does help dampen feedback. Plasti-dip peels and bubbles, where the truck bed lining does not. You can usually find both at home depot or an auto supply shop.
12. CPU fans run off a 9v batter quite well. That's what I've always used.
13. You can get 'spray on' plasti dip too. I've used it on the inside of OT TK buckets a few times, with great results I got mine at Home Chepot. Have fun.
14. ...and in case you folks aren't paying attention; Yes they are shutting down the garage prop builders.
15. If anovos fails, it wont be because of the 501st and it's detachments. It will be because they failed to bring accuracy and quality customer service to the table. Had they given us what was promised, things would be different; Members might not feel lied to and crapped on. I hope anovos doesn't fail, because I don't think they'll leave without a big ugly fight and taking a lot of our prop builders down with them. To all you folks that love anovos and their new suits, that's great, because it's going be your only choice. That is unless you have the talent or know somebody to do it better.
16. Simple bait and switch. I noticed the same thing with the preorder sale thread on the legion board. It was edited heavily, in regards to accuracy and origin of the armor. After seeing all of the toys on the shelves, I'm convinced that the anovos armor is derived from the same files. I've said it before; Disney will never release the secret formula. That means that anovos is bound by their licence to produce this kit and no other. They may not even have the option at this point to commission an artist to reproduce a replica. Our only hope of screen accuracy lies within the community of prop artists. I have heard some negative comments come from the folks at anovos, in regards to our "elitism" and "accuracy nuts". This speaks volumes to their accuracy and quality. They know what they have, and I believe they are sweating over it. If they can't produce an accurate kit, they wont make it here. I just wonder at which point did they realize something was wrong with their reference material. Here is a comparison shot of a fan sculpt, next to the anovos. I believe the artist got much closer to the mark.
17. I know that both of the FOTK troopers in the TFA room, in Anaheim, were both 3D printed parts. I would bet that all of them were built in the same fashion.
18. No doubt Luke will be uttering that same familiar line, "I am your father". I also think that it will be made clear that the force is recreating past events over and over until the "balance is restored".
19. I don't see how. She was on the "new-bigger-better" death star when they blew it up.
20. FU Disney. I hate you.
21. Good idea, Camp. But I have just one question; Why Facebook?? Why not bring the group here and share with us all. Especially since your group is considering our CRL when building their kits.
22. No worries man. I just heard my name:) Other than the mention of myself and the dreaded anivose gaskets, your tutorial is helpful and most needed at this time. Also, at the end of the day, that's what it's always about here; Troopers helping troopers.
23. expensive and not screen accurate.
24. Imperial Gaskets is keeping up just fine. Can we make 200 sets over night? No we can't! Do we make a quality product with satisfaction guaranteed? Yes we do! Do we run an honest business with awesome customer service? Yes we do! Contact [email protected] to get on the list for screen accuracy, durability and comfort. Topher, I regret that you had to wait so long for a set of Mrs.TK4205 sewn cloth gaskets. As you can now see, they take a very long time to make. Now imagine having to sew a couple hundred sets of them. My rubber gaskets are going out in much greater numbers, as I can pour rubber faster than I can sew. Buy Imperial Gaskets. They're good enough for the President!
25. Don't go to Best Buy.
