Well since the TX didn't have any screen time, or we don't see the suit at all, the toy is the only reference we have. But with the Stormtrooper and the Tie Pilot we have much better quality images to base armor off. We must remember that toys are just that, toys. Not everything is going to be accurate. Like Finn having that 'Armor Up' thingmabob. Adds playability for kids. The Tie Jet Pack I have not seen until now. Since this is the only (maybe) reference we have, you could use this to build your own.

Are you asking if the canister on the back of a RotJ suit is cannon as a TD? There are NO instances where these canisters are used as TDs in the movie, or any movie. Maybe in noncannon video games? The only cannon video game that has the RotJ suit used is the new Battlefront and in that game the Stormtroopers use TDs similar to the one Leia had in Jabba's Palace, not the canisters on their belts. All I know is that most the stuff you see in the movies didn't have any or much meaning before hand other than it looks good on film. Afterwards, fans have tried to come up with meaning of the unexplained. Not much lore, just cool props.
