  1. Untrimmed armor, trimmed helmet... so I feel your pain. Soon though!! I'm glad to hear others are getting their BBB - soon the trimming shall begin!!
  2. I've been rolling this question around in my head (sorry that it's a bit off topic): Would this new set of armor molds be considered APv2? The molds have changed, but the overall look has not. Mark has said he made a few improvements in details as well - thus the question. Thoughts?
  3. I went with untrimmed armor, but a trimmed helmet (plus det clips and rubber hand guards as add ons). Probably could have left the helmet untrimmed, but seeing how the ears are a challenge, it seemed to make sense to just let an expert do that portion. That also probably means I'll be slightly behind the full untrimmed sets in receiving mine, since untrimmed will ship before trimmed. We will see.
  4. Just sharing the news with my fellow troopers. I agree - its been interesting to see this thread turn into a gathering place... Aaron might need a new one just for the actual build.
  5. Yep. In the tradition of quoting our aforementioned armor maker, this is what I received from him yesterday: "Yes sorry for the delay we actually just finished forming this week, we will start the shipping process by end of week , I just posted the updated new AP part photos, the new molds set us back quite a bit but was worth the wait." I better get that build thread going soon.
  6. Now I'm a bit concerned... I received emails from Mark on 12/3 and 12/30, but not one that looks anything like this. I guess I better bounce another his way, just in case. I hate to bother him when he's packing all of this up, and I'm sure he has plenty of email to deal with as it is.
  7. I don't think he's started shipping yet - unless you are one of the few that paid everything in advance (Mark usually only requires a deposit to hold your spot on the list), we should all be getting messages about sending the balance in before Mark ships. I know I haven't seen anything asking for the balance yet.
  8. I believe in Post 1, second photo, you are referring to the kit from ukswrath (link here to his sales thread). Looks like option 8. I'm hoping to get the same kit, when I can get a bit more together.
  9. That is how the spring in my E11 build looks - slightly uneven, but the spacing is good. I left mine silver. Edit: in the E-11 Blaster Reference, the recoil spring section does not mention a specific color, and most of the previous build reference pics seem to be silver. However, Aaron's real Sterling parts photos show the spring to be a dark metal, almost black. I would think the final decision is up to you on which color you choose to use.
  10. Mark hasn't released the upgraded armor with those items yet. Hopefully the kits will start shipping next week, based on his latest update. Until then, no one has seen these items in person (that I am aware of). Mark may have photos he can send - you would need to contact him.
  11. The Foundry - Armor and Prop Making Hi Connor! Your best bet is to head to this section of the forums to find out all you need to know. Short answer: there are not any retail molds that you can buy to form your own armor. The pepakura method that you mention should work out well for you.
  12. I'm waiting on the same. Glad to see Mark is making progress, and we will hopefully have those brown boxes soon!
  13. Ordered Oct 27th on the website. Received notification that they shipped Nov 2nd, but apparently were not released from the port until Nov 17th. Just arrived today! I normally wear 8 1/2 narrow, so I only went up to a 9. They fit very well, and still have a little vertical room for a gel insert, which I suspect might be a good idea.
  14. Here is a short explanation of how I created my own out of ABS plastic sheet. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33729-sentrys-anh-e11-build/?p=442188
  15. Thanks for posting these, Chris! I used both the front sight housing and the inner bolt extension files, and with shipping from Shapeways, it comes to less than $10. Shapeways did "modify" the front sight housing slightly, because the system felt the layer was too thin above the set screw. The minor bit they added can be shaved back off later, though I don't think anyone would notice it without knowing what to look for. My bucket is off to you, sir.
  16. Oct 20 + 28 days = Nov 17... hey! Would you look at that! Pics any day now!!
  17. I'm at that step now as well - and planning on the same fix.
  18. A granular result from the paint can be caused by spraying too far away from the item, because the paint tends to dry before it hits the object. So, you are on target with your understanding there. Temperature/humidity also contributes to causing the same thing, so it may be a combination of the two. At least, that's my experience. I would try a small area, spraying a bit closer, and let that dry. See what results you get, then you can go for it with abandon. Good luck!
  19. Jess, check out this link: The various types of armor and where to find them Look for the entry marked TM. Contact information is in the entry - just give them a shout
  20. At the risk of sounding overenthusiastic... Mark, how are the modifications coming? Any idea on when we might see updated photos?
  21. 5 tickets for Dec 17th, and had no issues getting them online. Guess it helps that our theaters are part of a smaller chain - less competition for tickets. Now, whether I have armor built by then - that will be the challenge.
