  1. I started putting the lenses in last night but the left lens came free from the epoxy and turns our it wasn't positioned right, I'll sand her down tonight, and readjust. I'm really happy with how the sanding diligence paid off. A few gaps but pretty unnoticeable. As for the old helmet the right ear is much thinner than the right. It's not on my list of priorities but I will work on making them more symmetrical when I start going for my HWT build. at a much later date. Nothing more satisfying than getting things acceptable to yourself. THat old bucket is DEFINITELY not there yet but its not the tour de force for this build. Stay on Target Dave!
  2. here is the old one with some paste on the gaps
  3. Ok Ears are done... time for lenses and forgetting this ordeal lol. What do you think? 7
  4. Hans! I was just going to ask about the seller, how much did you pay for this bad boy!?
  5. Cool idea Christina! I am a proponent of the epoxy putty but I like how clean this looks
  6. even still I think you're right, using pvc pipe would be just as nice and might be a bit easier
  7. I saw that Al, however one of the pictures prior has a pretty nice looking barrel rendering in it.
  8. Aaron my man! I'm sorry I am the reason you are earless... However there is a way to convert Stunt ears to Hero, I saw it on here a while back.
  9. is the barrel in the newest download?
  10. You're probably right Joe. I have them about where I want them now so I'll just finish now. I'll start the next piece with something easier. Any suggestions?
  11. Same thing man I'll put some time in here and there and then have spurts of ocd
  12. Jesus... It just hit me that I've been at this for like 2 months and I don't even have my 2nd helmet together... I have an ear on it how embarrassing....
  13. lol Aaron you are starting to look like MY 2 I/C and I think Dan is probably Recruit Captain for both of us grunts. I am a slow learner though and will be doing a lot of latrine duty I reckon
  14. For a HWT maybe that's the best look! lol I learned my lesson hopefully the left ear will go as smooth as a baby's bottom...
  15. Also as you can see the other ear wasn't a complete loss. I put it on my first helmet that I am going to be using for the HWT. I had some practice with ABS paste I made and it works nicely. some sanding and polishing after it sets and I may have 2 perfectly fine helmets. Tonight I will sand a tad more and leave as is. Some times you need to know when to stop. ANH HWT Bucket with "ruined" ears ESB Bucket with markings where a bit of fine tuning still needs to be performed
  16. I know what you mean though Mark. I just am going to leave it now the other ear might still be ok for the other helmet but I need to start leaving well enough alone or I will be emailing you with more money lol
  17. Didn't see marks and Joe's advice but I basically did the same as they suggested. It worked
  18. probably a bit more hand sanding but thats all for tonight I'm friggin starving and I almost had an aneurysm with this tonight
  19. gotta leave a little ridge to avoid a gap
  20. ok 3rd time was the charm there is so little gap it would make hairline fractures jealous pics to come now I know Mark H. there shouldn't be a "step" but man its not even noticeable I'm proud of this here
  21. despite all of your advice yet another right ear was ruined. I don\'t know what I'm doing wrong but the gap is just ridiculous on both sides I trimmed the circular part down very far and nothing is working...
  22. I hear you loud and clear brother!
  23. These tutorials helped give them a try I think both are ATA http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27375-howto-draw-an-approximate-ear-trim-line-with-no-gaps/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29238-my-helmet-ear-tutorial/#entry372251
