  1. LOL it's not patience it's pure terror! I've already mangled a bucket I'm moving at a Hutt's pace I wish I could be more finished :L
  2. I found this on on of the reference photos here the biceps are the same there really wont be much of a difference I think
  3. Exactly Kris! Yeah its not a huge difference but it looks better and more form fitting. I've been following closely and I'm just taking liberties where I need to. I'm going to be using Tony's thready more closely now. That in edition to Haribon's (Walter for his ESB) I hope I can do more tonight!
  4. It's AP armor and I saw from another thread some of the other staff said it varies widely. Arms can range for 13-16mm I did some dry fitting and the 7mm butt joints seem to go together fine is this acceptable Tony?
  5. Nicely done brother. now you can help me with mine! lol. It sucks I can't seem to find more than a few hours at a time to work on this thing...
  6. Thanks for this Tony I've added this to my reference library. I took some liberties with the butt/joint cuts though I did 6.5mm-7.mm for the arms for a 13mm cover strip as I am a stringbean... acceptable?
  7. You guys are the best! I did a bit of trimming over the weekend. the 13mm cover strip looks like it's going to fit nicely. For the forearms I may give them a bath for fitting. All of the arm strips are the same width right? thought I'd throw it out there before I move on to getting the biceps ready.
  8. I've seen a few threads about this but it doesn't go into the detail I really want. So for the arm armour especially I cut the butt/joints down to around to 6.5mm on each side for a 13mm cover strip. Unfortunately the forearms look a little too big any advice or references for trimming and assembly to fit skinny arms?
  9. Well I'm basically using your thread as my assembly manual now lol. looking great man. What is that material you're using for joining the back to the kidney and kidney to butt?
  10. Aaron it's stuff like this that gives me the feels . you're the best and you made my day for sure. Big ole hug right back man. And Danny Boy, get on in here. lol
  11. Look's like this party turned into just a hang out Aaron my man. I wish I could get the kind of following you have on your thread lol. I need to start posting more progress, I'm not being entertaining enough.
  12. Thanks bud the key for me is definitely two of of FISD's de facto mantras 1) Measure 3 times cut once. Or in my case Measure 3 times and score lightly and carefully a million times until the excess falls off lol et deux, TAKE YOUR TIME! cheers guys! It's St. Patty's Day so may the Luck of the Irish Smile Upon Ya, and in light of this fine holiday, I don't know how much I'll be able to get done tonight lol. Might be a bad idea...
  13. So this is what I was up to last night. I tested cutting the forearm butt/joints, around 6.5mm on each side for a 13mm coverstrip. 15mm will be a little too big, but we will have to see. Much to my surprise the leftover material from the cut was exactly 13mm and could be used for a coverstrip itself, however the material is leftover from the forming and might be too flimsy so I'll just do what I'm supposed to do lol. As you can see I started by clamping the armour pieces down and measuring 6.5mm from the the lip of the armour curve. Then I carefully clamped my ruler along the marks I made and CAREFULLY scored repeatedly until the excess could be snapped off.
  14. does there need to be a cover strip on the inside too?
  15. Thanks brother. I am built like a rail so I might be able to get away with this. I just want everything to be perfect. As anyone can clearly see reading my thread I am mentally ill lol.
  16. Those are the backs of the forearms Aaron I though it was the front that had to have no edge or is it both? A note this is only the tops of all the arm pieces.
  17. from what I see I F*#ked up the top of the outside biceps already and trimmed too much of the return edge... yours :'(
  18. gotcha I'm not done trimming anyway. Can you send me some pics of your biceps and shoulder bells? email or whatevs.
  19. I've also bought a rivet gun and rivets for certain affixations that don't need to be 8mm split rivets. That's going to be fun lol.
  20. K guys need your opinion here are my sanded and trimmed arm bits. I definitely need to trim the butt strips down to around 7mm on each side for the 13mm cover strips. some dry fitting showed me I may need to whittle them down to almost the curves of the armour for a decent fit on my slender frame to look, not skin tight, but like an armour shell as it is supposed to. I need to get more pics up to see the other sides. but how am I doing so far?
  21. At my work it's the opposite, our sales manager is like the epitome of manly cool, a rough and tumble hockey dude that can drink any of us under the table, however he has seen every Star Wars Film, opening day, since ANH in 1977. Wicked Gnar... AND My direct supervisors wants pictures of my build progress as I move along.
