  1. Bit more progress, I think I need more clamps and magnets! Totally understand the oval shape lol And the tour de force... Mind you I didn't have to tape, I have been an amateur artist since I was a kid so the painting is one of my favourite parts. Bucket Details yo.
  2. Can I got water bath while the cover strip are on?
  3. Yeah exactly looks ok now but I'm finding the same oval shape issue as Pyrates had I'm going to have to hot water bath the arms. Kind of pinches at the back not much but I have like an inch of space at the front on th top AND bottom.
  4. Take care man We're always here for you!
  5. Yeah no snow here in San Diego, Ontario (Windsor). Or Baja Canada if you prefer
  6. Thanks Joe and no problem I totally understand Right now I'm working on joining the forearms with cover strips theres gaps between the strips and the armour that are concerning me I am have to pull the strip off and clamp it down more firmly and glue again.
  7. also... received my big bag o'snaps from Narc (Mike Brace) Yesterday thanks big guy! I'm good to start my snappin now!
  8. Posted Today, 12:44 PM The only comment I can make is that you should be wearing your under suit shirt when trying on your upper armor parts so you can see more accurately how things fit and look. Other than that mate I can't see anything with my evil eye. _________________________________________________ Posting is all weird for me now it's not letting me quote or post in the regular text editor field... But you're right I definitely should have had my undersuit on... I did a fit with it the day before seemed fine.
  9. You had me scared there for a second lol Yeah yeah like I said I am a rail. I cannot put on weight for the life of me. In all seriousness opinions on the strips and trimming?
  10. I have many nicknames for my friends. Man, guy, bro, brah, breh, bruv, brother, dude, cholo, cholito, dingus, ding-dong, idiot, moron, moran, dink, and many others that will be stricten from the record because of the FISD's profanity filter lol.
  11. Please someone tell me I'm doing this right :L
  12. A bit of progress was made last night and the night before. Low and Slow as always... Anyway. I managed to get the arm parts trimmed and sanded. Below will show how I measured approximately 6.5mm for my 13mm cover strip. I measured from the outside ridge where the joint area starts all along end to end and clamped a meter stick for accuracy. I then used an exacto blade and razor blade to score and snap the excess. I did this for both sides of all of the arm amour. Now here are all of the pieces trimmed and sanded. Back: Front: Front Closeup (because I only had the back last time: Next wasw fitting. Tape 'er up with your painters tape and see where you need to make sanding adjustments. I had to go at it again in the one of the forearms and biceps but all in all they fit great! Middle Finger not intended lol Next I had some "fun" with E6000 and cover strips... I found the best way (and I did strips on the inside and outside of the armour for strength) was to do one strip on the outside on one side of the piece and one on the inside on the parallel side of the armour piece. Repeat the process but opposite on the other clamshell of the armour so when joining them they will fit together easier and the glueing will go easier. I glued the strips to the individual pieces first left overnight and then will affix each side to it's opposite at a time after 24hours Because let me tell you trying to glue and join both sides of the clamshell at once with 2 sets of in and out C-strips is a nightmare, needless to say I got glue everywhere before I took this approach see below.
  13. for the screws I used 6-32 machine screws that I cut to the correct length and the corresponding nuts. I couldn't find the screws at home depot they were too small, but I did find the nuts there. Lowe's, home hardware, or canadian tire may have them thought. I literally just jammed them in the putty.
  14. My deepest sympathy to her family. I just heard about this, through another member. Rest in Peace Jenny, buckets off. :'(
  15. and this is with the shade 3 I don't know where Greg on the boarding party got his info that shade 5 is standard...
  16. for mounting Angie the fix it stick is good too, you can paint and pretty it up later. Take your lens (es) mark in the helmet where you need to screw it in, screw in your screws to the nuts (not all the way just to the bottom of the nut) then use your putty and stick it in where you marked the screw marks. and press your screws and nuts into the putty. make sure it's level with the eye indentations from the mold pulls, let dry and remover the screws and screw the lenses in. that's what I did, the lenses are flush (with an air gap for fog) and looks pretty tight.
  17. no I see what you're talking about. it looks great man
  18. Getting concerned... I have my arm parts cut but the parts are still looking a little bit when I dry fitted. Probably need some padding I don't know if I need to dry fit before adding my strips. What did you guys do before adding the strips?
