  1. I use the Direct Link on the Legion boards with no problems.
  2. The quads don't look that far out, Mark. It's the bottoms of the thighs that look a bit askew. When you post the photos (without the black background) we can better assess the situation and give you some more precise advise!
  3. This is truly an awesome blaster, especially since it is made from wood and therefore lightweight and PERFECT for long troops! While this particular E-11 would be 100% acceptable at Expert Infantry level, unfortunately it can not be passed at Centurion level as there is no cocking handle.
  4. I know, Rudi, and EXCELLENT advice! The tops of the thighs seem to be not too far out of line, but again, some pics without the black background will be more helpful. The bottoms seem to be the concern at this point, as they look way too wide. Once new pics are posted we can give some more precise guidance.
  5. Please see link in the post above, Wade, and always feel free to ask any questions you need to!
  6. I have one here (with photos) that I did about 5 years ago, Daniel: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-ot-tk-build/
  7. Those are the correct type, sir.
  8. Yes, but it's hard to tell how they fit because of the black under-suit/black background.
  9. DISCLAIMER While there are some really good threads on this subject here on the FISD, I just wanted to highlight a few areas with some more detailed images. As many of you know, I am not a computer savvy guy, so I designed this for those who are in the same boat I am. Now, on with the show.... Whether you are just starting a build thread or just have a technical question, posting a photo is vital for getting solid advice here on the FISD. A verbal description is one thing, but a picture really is worth a thousand words. You will also need to post photos if you are applying for Expert Infantry/Centurion levels. In order to do this, you will need an image hosting server. For the following I am using imgur (imgur.com). This is a free service, and allows you to crop, re-size, rotate, post and store your photos. It may be a bit confusing at first, but I promise that once you get the hang of it you will be a pro in no time! NOTE For the purposes of this tutorial, we will use as an example that you have a question about the center of your ab-plate section. Instead of posting a photo of the entire costume, you can (and should) crop and re-size it to show a close-up. Assuming you have installed imgur and the photo(s) are downloaded on your PC or laptop in the Pictures section. To add a photo to your imgur Gallery: 1. On your imgur home page, click on your name at the top right (Step 1). This will give you a drop-down menu. Click on Images (Step 2). This will bring you to your Gallery (library/storage area). Go to the task bar at the bottom of the screen and click the New Post button. In the next window you can either just drop image directly to the drop images here box or select Choose Photo to browse your PC and select the images you want to upload. Finally go to Step 1 and 2 to acces your gallery to see the images you uploaded. The photo is now part of your Gallery... time to Edit! 1. Scroll over the image you wish to edit. You will see a pencil symbol and a trashcan. Click on the pencil, which will highlight the image in a green box . Click on the Edit tab on the top right. To crop/re-size: 1. Click on the Crop/Resize button. 2. Using your mouse, create a box around the area to be saved. 3. Hit Apply. To change the size, go to the numbers on the top right of the page. 4. I normally just use the one on the right (399 in this case) but you can use either. Click on the box and back out the number, then add your own to reduce or enlarge the image. 5. Hit Save. VERY IMPORTANT! The edited image is automatically changed and added to your Gallery. To Rotate your image: 1. 1. Scroll over the image you wish to edit. You will see a pencil symbol and a trashcan. Click on the pencil, which will highlight the image in a green box . Click on the Edit tab on the top right. 2. Click the Rotate tab. IMPORTANT: You may have to reduce the size first in order to get the entire image on the screen and successfully save it. 3. It will give you 4 choices like this: 3. Click on the one you want and hit SAVE. NOTE: You cannot Crop/Resize until you have saved it. O.K. time to post it up! In your Gallery, LEFT click on the center area of the pic you wish to post, which will bring you to the area as seen below. 1. LEFT click on Copy next to Direct Link. 2. Paste into your post or thread. DONE DEAL! Posting using a mobile device (phone): *** ***Special shout-outs to Glen (gmrhodes13) and Colin (OddViking327) for the following info. !! From Glen: After adding the imgur app., upload to Imgur then click on the image, then hold thumb on the image, it will open an options page then select copy link, on left, then post into your thread. Doing it this way will give you a link with the image tag, ie: jpg or png and so on. From Colin: Use the phone app to upload to Imgur right from your phone (set it to private and you can post them here, but they won't be searchable in their feed, and you don't have to title them). On each image on the Imgur in your Gallery, click it, and copy the BBCode tab *** and paste it into your post. It won't show while writing your post, but will show after you hit "Submit Reply". Super easy. And if people want to see a bigger version, clicking on it takes them to it. *** IMPORTANT!! Once you have attached a photo into a post or thread, do NOT delete or edit it in your Gallery. If you do so, it will disappear from your post. If you have any questions or issues, please feel free to ask on this thread.
  10. As Glen said, some photos would be really helpful, Robert. Preferably ones (front and back) with you wearing the torso and calves as well so that we can get a better idea of how to give you more specific advice. If you need help posting photos, I suggest imgur.com. You can re-size, crop and edit as needed and it's super easy. Here is a tutorial that will help https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42381-howto-post-images-in-threads-using-imgur-easy/, but if you have any problems just PM me. Always feel free to ask any questions you may have on any issues. We are here to help!
  11. Way to go, Andrew! I have every faith that this is going to be a momentous year here on the FISD with you at the helm.
  12. It would really help if you could have a "before" pic like the one below, but without the black background, as it really doesn't show how they look at the bottoms when wearing them.
  13. At this point it looks like you have a rather large opening at the bottom, Mark, as well as a lot of extra on the ridges. The bottoms should fit a bit more snug, but not be tight by any means. Reducing the ridges on each side will allow you to do this, but do it in small increments so you will not remove TOO much.
  14. Like Frank said, you are going to be MORE than happy with AM. AWESOME armor!
  15. A little late to the party here, but welcome, JR! I have a thread here that may help with the soft parts. ABS paste is something you make yourself, and only if needed. Kman has a great tutorial here. Looking forward to seeing your build thread, and don't be shy when it comes to asking questions!
  16. Like Glen said, the left thigh could be dropped down a bit. Have you walked around while wearing the legs? They look pretty close to the posterior plate, and this can cause them to catch on each other and make it uncomfortable. If you hear a "clicking" sound, trimming the tops in the rear may be needed. There should be enough space between them to walk without them touching.
  17. Looking SHARP. Anthony, and glad to hear that you are headed toward Centurion level! For level 3 I wouldn't fret about the bottom of the ears being under the S trim, as it will not affect approval for Centurion. Depending on how close you want to get to screen accuracy, something to think about is moving the tops of the ears a bit more forward (if possible). Ideally the center of the top round part should sit directly below the rear of the trap above them, and the screws should (again, ideally) be lined up as seen below. Not a deal breaker for Level 2 or even 3, but something to think about.
  18. Excellent, and you are correct, they could be a little larger. Just make sure the paint does not reach all the way to the bottom of the raised area. Rounded edges are the most crucial part, as seen in the pics Mario provided.
  19. I would try using a filbert style brush on the buttons, Thomas. The rounded tip will allow you to get a more even line on the edges,
  20. Haven't forgotten about ya', Katie. Working on a few items and will be with you ASAP.
  21. The paint on the vocoder ridges should go all the way to the top of the ridge. Easy fix!
  22. Welcome to the FISD! The links you have been given so far will get you started for sure, but always feel free to ask any questions you may have. The armorers in the "vetted" section are tried and true, but I strongly suggest steering clear of any kits you may find online, (ebay, etc.) as many of them are inferior in quality or re-casts (direct copies) of someone else's hard work. This is a partial list, but always inquire here and we can let you know if it's legit. Unfortunately this is not an inexpensive hobby to get into, but one that is definitely rewarding in a lot of ways. The first time you step out in public as a "real" Stormtrooper and see the smiles on people's faces will make it all worth it.
  23. Daniel is absolutely correct about the eyes. What you have now is perfect, and I honestly wouldn't touch them. As seen in the photos he provided, they were all a bit wonky in some areas, which adds to their charm. Finding ABS that matches the Anovos color may be a tall order, but ATA would be the one to get in touch with about acquiring some replacements. You may be good to go with the Anovos ones, but before gluing them on I would suggest posting up a few pics to make sure you have enough overlap of the Velcro to keep them in place.
  24. Welcome to the FISD, Matt! Great to hear that you pulled the trigger on your ATA armor kit.. you are gonna be pleased with it I guarantee. Now is the time to really dig in to the research, and you are in the right place for all things TK related. This site can appear a bit overwhelming, but as mentioned we are here to help every step of the way. As I suggest to all those who are starting a build, your best bet is to start your own build thread in this section. You can post as many photos as you like (the more the better), ask any and all questions you have, (no question is too small) and show off your progress all in one place! The FISD is a "judgement free" zone, so always feel free to ask us anything. As a former Kentucky boy myself (Lexington) if there is anything you need just PM me. GO BIG BLUE!
