  1. I say when you offer goodwill with nothing but the spirit of goodwill then it is none of your concern if someone takes offense. You did a nice thing, you meant it in a nice way so who cares what nutbags have to say? Here in Australia we are a pretty secular society with very little religious anything but we still make a big deal out of Christmas. It's not about this belief system or that - it's about joy and fun and making people smile. If that offends someone they need a check up. And in the spirit of this goodwill, although I don't feel it necessary, I shall oblige your request to lock this thread. But not without saying Happy Holidays to everyone!
  2. Traitor! My god man - the default IPB skin looks like something Microsoft would have designed...
  3. Very surprising results so far... C'Mon guys - vote away. After all, it's your FISD!
  4. If you're going for Centurion then you should take this into account: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=17887 and perhaps do a little more trimming to the chest.
  5. Hi Glenn, I'm afraid you have to a 501st member to purchase or view the patches
  6. Now that is one hell of a thorough build log! Keep up the good work trooper
  7. In order to make the user experience as great as possible for all our members we are continually updating and examining the forums for functionality and design. In order to help us going forward into the new year could everyone please take a moment to answer the poll above as to which of the two skin choices you prefer to use when browsing FISD - the white theme or the black/blue theme. If you have any particular reasons please list them in the replies. (For example: some people say they prefer the black theme as white hurts their eyes, while others say they prefer white because its the TK color). Thanks in advance for your help guys and girls. Understanding the wants and needs of members will ensure a continuing fantastic user experience here on FISD - one that we hope will become the best forum experience you can have on the web ZeroRoom out.
  8. This looking so good Stephen. Like it walked right off the set in 76.
  9. That's the same pic isn't it? I've got one of the original Kenner TK's from 78 and the same pic is on that backing card too...
  10. No he means the troopers who are shooting back at Luke and Leia...
  11. Styrene isn't as common to be sure, but it is used sometimes. The only thing to note with styrene is that if you want the glossy white look you will definitely have to paint your armor as you would with HIPS. ABS has the advantage of being glossy out of the box. Styrene is a very flat matte plastic.
  12. I would say definitely negatively vac formed. The key would be seeing them in profile. Are the buttons and the ridges the exact same height? If so they would be formed the way half spheres are formed by vac forming - holes and slots in a flat piece. Good spot sir! I look forward to this debate!
  13. Brilliant diagram Andy! I just found 9.5mm copper tubing at my local hardware store too so I'm going to go pick some up. Just gotta grab me some suitable end caps. You really are going to make the most accurate power cylinders possible
  14. What a great informative post Rob! I honestly cannot remember a time ever that anyone in possession of an original prop has been this generous with information and pics. Truly amazing and a great testament to the spirit of troopers in the prop world. Are the long edges of the canvas overlocked? It looks a little bit like they are but that could be the canvas weave aging.. are the edges turned at all?
  15. That's an amazing story Gary. My kudos and amazement goes out to the generosity of Rob and RS Props. Truly incredible! With your permission I'd love to add this post to our a troopers Helping Troopers thanks post...
  16. Just saw your comment about the droopy eyes so I retract my guess
