You'll need something like 1" shim on each side on the AP, but it will fit great except for that.

Thanks ! Yeah I'll probably dye it to be more brownish. I have soo much trouble with the eyes ! I tried with opaque acrylic paint, it's not bad but since the light is a lot less bright it is easier to see that the paint is not uniform ... I'm not able to spread it evenly. And each coat adds to the opacity, it's not really good. I tried also with stained glass paint (vitrail ?), but it's too transparent, the light is a lot too bright.

Boot & Calf Armor Issue
Spycee replied to Lancer's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I put velcro on the inside bottom of the shins, and on the front and back of the boots. It stays in place, except when I force a lot. The only downside is the noise ! When I walk : crounch crounch crounch ... I hate it ! I'm thinking to try using snaps and nylon straps (or elastics, not sure) that goes under my feet so it's my feet that keep the shins from popping. -
New recruit questions - ANH Stunt
Spycee replied to Bekka22's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
For the weight you are perfect with the AP, for sure. You will have to trim it on the height to get it your size. It can definitely be Centurion, the only modification to do is the notch on the sides, very easy to do. For the snaps positions, there is no perfect way to do it. In the movies snaps were not used. You have to find the best way for you, check the EIB and Centurion threads, they are very helpful. What is not visible is at your discretion. I used snaps on mine and it's really good and easy to do, not visible at all on the outside. -
Thanks ! Don't hesitate to ask questions during your build :-)

ERROR's Rise to the Ranks ANH Stunt [AP]
Spycee replied to ERROR's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
For the ABS melting for shims, I put that in a closed bottle for at least 12 hours, so not a lot of fumes. -
Blaster ordered from DDay. Inner drop boxes in the mail. Already got an AP Helmet from Mark. Just need the handguards ... Still not decided what I want.

Thanks ! It will not look 100% like a "real" bandolier because of the way I will do the back but it will be nice I think :-)

I posted this picture a minute ago in another thread, but hey, it can help you too Since the 2 shoulders and shoulder straps are attached together it seems to be stronger and helps to keep their positions. The long black elastic between shoulders is a bit short and stretched a lot, and it makes that it doesn't move and keeps its position. I'm not sure to be clear enough, sorry ... And also, as already said, attach the snaps more to the front, but I'm sure that if you just to that the white elastic on the shoulder will stretch and move and won't solve completely your problem. It was my case.

Narrow Shoulder Bells Issue
Spycee replied to A Master Builder's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Here's how I attached my shoulders. The 2 shoulder bells are attached together, and also attached to the white shoulder straps so they won't move at all. It made a huge difference for me for the distance between shoulder strap and the position of the shoulder bell vs the chest plate. You can try it, maybe it can help you too. -
I have an AP helmet and can't wear my glasses ... For the moment ! I'm trying to install permanently an old pair of glasses inside, and it works partially ... I can see through the glasses but I had to bend the frame so the lenses are not aligned correctly and it gives me headaches. I'm still working on it because I can't stand contact lenses for more than an hour.

BatNinja's AM 2.0 EIB ANH Stunt Build Thread
Spycee replied to batninja's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Do the inner join first, after it will be easier to do the outer one, since the pieces are already held together. Go for E6000, it is strong enough and you have room for mistakes. -
TK AM old kit Helmet help! (cap and back separate)
Spycee replied to krob14's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
You should not give your phone number publicly, you should give it in a private message ... -
Ah ah, welcome to HELL !!! Good luck, the AP is very easy to build, except for that piece. To make it more aligned I heated the top left side to bend it on the shin.

Narrow Shoulder Bells Issue
Spycee replied to A Master Builder's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Here's a picture of me in action with my AP : Not sure if I have very wide shoulders, 5'11" / 180lb, but they don't move a lot. -
Narrow Shoulder Bells Issue
Spycee replied to A Master Builder's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I cannot take a picture tonight, il try tomorrow. -
Biceps must be higher, and they seem a bit too big. But if they're just higher (not a big modification) it will be very nice. And I find that the thighs are a bit too high, it must be difficult to climb stairs ;-) Great armor besides that !

A good help can come from your nearest garrison. See if you can see and touch an armor from a 501st member, and get informations from him. It will also help a lot. Where do you live ?

Narrow Shoulder Bells Issue
Spycee replied to A Master Builder's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Before I had your problem, I tried to shorten the elastic between the shoulder bell and the shoulder strap, but the only thing it did was to pull too much the shoulder strap. Now they stick very close to the chest plate and near the shoulder straps. -
Narrow Shoulder Bells Issue
Spycee replied to A Master Builder's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
An easy fix for me : I attached the 2 shoulder bells together with snaps and elastic, behind my neck, and to maintain them at the right position I snapped the elastic under the shoulder strap. This way they are always at the right place. -
TK- 55007 Requesting EIB status for ANH Stunt [TM][433]
Spycee replied to ANHnutter's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Congratulations ! For the side shims it's not that hard, once you make a couple of tries with the ABS paste. Make sure to practice before ! And get up to 2000 sandpaper, and a Novus polisher kit. -
TK-10116 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [ATA][435]

It was the width between your white pieces that caught my attention first, but it may just be an optical illusion.
