  1. Not really. As mentioned earlier if you dont have any decent scrap then blending is the answer. Glen gave some really good "how to" advice.
  2. Optimum would be to have the shim at the same level. If you have any flat scrap left over possible step up the inner cover strip. If this is not an option than yes you'll have to feather the shim. I recommend testing the epoxy on a piece of scrap to see if there any adverse effects.
  3. Rat is correct the return edge is not required, only in specific areas and this isn't one of them
  4. Let me elaborate, remove the desired amount of return edge needed. Add new shim using the butt and strip method (most common). Fill the outer seam created with ABS paste, sand, paint and you're good to go. Note: The Anovos armor is very thin, especially in this area. Any reinforcement in and around the shim seam will greatly add to the area strength.
  5. For a shim extension just remove the return edge and adhere it to the existing armor.
  6. And you're cutting this because ???????

  10. A little clean up and you're good to go Rat
  11. There are several ways you can accomplish securing the shin, in addition to what Glen mentioned you can also add a square patch of industrial strength velcro to the front of your boot and inside your shin. That's my go to choice with most of my armor.
  12. Great job Mark. As Glen mentioned it definitely won't hold you up from basic, nor EIB to be honest.
  13. Looking good Rat, nice job so far.
  14. Update: While you're waiting please paint and weather the blaster "D" ring. Almost there Reference photo

  16. As Luc mentioned yes on the waist ammo belt.
  17. ATA armor is very robust. It should be able to handle brackets without cracking however, every armor has a shelf life. If you build it correctly, to your body type and maintain it, it should last for quite some time .
  18. Yes indeed. Proud to add you to the ranks
  19. Really Glen? Another illustration to add to my collection.
