  8. Wow, 3D printing has come along way. That helmet is clean
  9. Outstanding! What an awesome costume. Congratulations!
  10. As Paul mentioned the battery generally resolves the issue, but not always. If you've tried a new battery, also try a different mic. If neither of those resolve the issue it may be the iComm itself. If that's the case I'd be happy to look at it for you.
  11. Awesome! Congratulations brother. If you ever venture to the Reno area...
  12. Depends on your garrison's GML. If the color is too far off they may ask you to paint the armor so that it's consistant in color. But I'd reach out to them and ask.
  13. Well, carefully Over the years what worked best for me. E6000 or CA glued. E6000 - take an old butter knife slide it between the two plastics, then pry and slide. Avoid damaging surface areas visible to the eye once finished. CA is a bit more difficult. Though I still use a butter knife, if I quickly tap it with a small hammer, parallel between the two plastics. Most of the time the cover will just snap off however, be mindful not to tear the plastic. Take your time Hope this helps
  14. I went with the OG method. Cut one side on the lens to match the bridge of your nose. Allow the ear screws to protrude inside the helmet 1/4" or less. Position lens in the helmet so the bridge cut aligns with the lower section of the eye holes. Starting with one side position the lens over the ear screws. Mark the screw location. Drill holes in the lens to match the screw locations. Install lens in the newly drilled side. Ensure the lens is still centered with the eye holes (side to side, top to bottom). Press other end of the lens into the remaining ear screws. Mark. Drill, and install. If all goes well your lens should be centered, fixed, yet easy to remove and clean as necessary. Hope this helps
  15. Yea, I have an entire build dedicated to stuffing everything imaginable into one's helmet I had a separate 12/5v battery pack I wore on my person that powered everything and was expandable. As Glen mentioned, so long as you have the room for all of it you're in luck. That's the main reason a use a hard hat insert in all my helmets, it frees up real-estate. That said, I'd be glad to share with you how I did it if you're interested.
  16. What I've seen over time is it's not so much the imperfections in the gaps between the ears and helmet, though keeping it to a minimum is optimum however, the ear thickness. They're almost always too excessive. Take another looks at the original helmet photos Glen posted. That said, if your GML is giving you the green light on what they look like now then you're golden. But if you're looking for screen accuracy then thinner is better. Keep up the good work
  17. Welcome to the dark side Mark. Looking forward to your build

  20. Welcome to the wonderful world of wonky armor. Looking good. Looks like Glen has got you covered
  21. Nice work! You've been given some great advice. You're almost there.
  22. Looking good Hanson For the record, I used to be a GGG member myself before moving to NV. Being so close to Lucas the GGG GML used to be very strict about appearance and tolerances, even at basic. Before going too far I would encourage you to get the GML's feedback regarding your build so far. Just to be on the safe side. Keep up the great work
  23. Welcome Stephen. You got this trooper
