HWT CRL Changes - Your input is requested
ukswrath replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
Just my opinion but without a clear shot of the ab buttons the color will be up to speculation anyway. From no more than a few feet away imperfect images or non-optimal lighting render colors almost impossible to distinguish, we've seen this with quite a few applications. I wouldn't worry about this even being a factor to be honest. -
Sounds good. Don't make them too tight, your body needs room to breath. Keep up the good work.
-
Forearm, I was referring to the diameter. How much room is there between the armor and your skin?
-
Looking good Brian. The Vcoder on the front of the helmet could stand to be a bit more defined. Here's a reference photo... Regarding the forearms, have you performed a test fit? Can you trim them down any? Edit: Welcome to the FISD by the way

Good catch on the ab buttons though it could just be bad lighting lol -

In Eric's photo the cod looks separate from the ab also. -

My 2 cents. 1) Though I agree with Joseph I'm not sure we need to state "No video monitors, extra greeblies. lights of any sort or attachments not seen in photos can be present at any level." If people look at CRL, Photo Gallery or any number of build photos they'll see this is apparent. 2) Since the exterior visual accuracy is what we strive for here on FISD then if a belt has a required MP-40 pack covering any belt discrepancies, holster mounting holes or other, I don't believe it matters if they're there. Rogue One Stormtrooper-ish Full Build
ukswrath replied to The5thHorseman's topic in Rogue One Build Threads
I was just about to say there's not enough clearance between limb sections, and it's definitely a good thing we're not using SWAT level weathering standards or we may be here a while JK lol . As Christine stated, beautiful work Germain -
TK-62000 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status ]689]
ukswrath replied to scottdm62's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey Scott thank you for your patience and welcome to your EI review. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: It looks like all the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome trooper, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few areas to go over so let's do this shall we. Starting from the top and working our way down, the Anovos helmet in it's original condition needs some TLC. A good majority of the Anovos applicants seen here were suggested to make the corrections we're about to discuss. Some will be required to be repaired before submitting for Centurion if you choose to do so. That being said, the accuracy is still ultimately up to the trooper. 1) If you look at the area around the teeth you'll notice some paint over spray. That will need to be removed. Our suggestion is to remove the over spray using paint thinner or equivalent, Do NOT use Acetone. Now unless you have an extremely steady hand this will undoubtedly effect he teeth. If it does it is best if you repaint the entire frown so that it matches. Speaking of frown, with the ANH stunt the frown is to extend past the last tooth. You'll need to add this. Another good reason to repaint the frown. Here's a couple reference photo. 2) Trap decals off center. The problem with mass producing sometimes is the lack of decent quality control. The decals need to be withing the helmet lines. If you take a look at the left trap you'll notice the decal is off center. Take a good look at all the traps. If any are similar you'll need to fix those as well. Note: If you have to fix one you might as well fix them all to match. You can buy a set of Dave M decals on TrooperBay. Reference photo 3) The ear screws are incorrect type and should be replaced. They should be "V" style, flat head and slotted. You can find these on Trooperbay. Reference photo 4) Rank bar trim line should extend to the face of the ear. Looks like Anovos cut this area a bit short. We're suggesting you add a bit more paint to the area to define the edge. Reference photo 5) V-coder detail. Another issue is lack of detail on the vcoder. The outer lines should be well defined. Reference photo 6) The final helmet issue are the Hovi tips screens, they're not accurate. The screen mesh should be more course. Reference photo 7) Shoulder bell to chest/back plate gap. The ultimate goal is less gap between the sections as possible. Yours could be brought closer by tightening the connection straps and removing a good amount of the lower bell return edge. Reference photo 8) Your waist belt is riding a bit low. It should reside at or just below the lowest ab button. You may need to make a mounting adjustment to correct this. Reference photo 9) Cover strips extending past the edge of the armor. We're suggesting you trim back any cover strip extending past the end of the armor. It makes your armor look cleaner, help eliminate pinch points and from getting snagged on other items. Reference photo 10) Back plate to kidney gap. There should be little to no gap between the two. Though yours is not too bad a simple strapping adjustment should do the trick. Reference photo 11) Remove chest plate lower return edge. We're suggesting you remove the return edge tab at the end of your chest plate. Technically it shouldn't be there. Reference photo 12) Posterior or butt plate should reside under the kidney. A strapping adjustment and or possibly reducing the lower posterior return edge may help as well. Here's a reference photo giving you an idea of what were looking for. ) Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We do have a couple areas that will need to be address before applying for Centurion if you choose to do so. An area of concern we have that is mandatory at Centurion is the drop box to ammo belt alignment. The CRL states... For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Gluing the drop box strap to the cloth belt is the easiest way to remedy this. Reference photos. That's it! Excellent job on your build. Hope to see you at Centurion. -
Welcome Garry, as Randy stated the asymmetrical sections are normal. Trim as you need to however, always remember to measure twice and cut once. There are several Anovos build threads in the build thread section. I suggest following one of those that taken their armor to level 3 Centurion with the accuracy. Also, as Randy mentioned, start a build thread. This gives your fellow trooper the opportunity to help you and learn from you.

Hey Alex thank you for your patience and welcome to your EI review. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: It looks like all the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome trooper, congratulations! Very nice job on your build. Your attention to detail has really paid off . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers like Sarah and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a couple areas to discuss, the first is minor and common issue we come across. The shoulder bell to chest and back plat gap should be minimal. In your case it appears a simple armor adjustment should do the trick. Rotating the bells toward your chest should even out the front and back spacing. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We do one area that will need to be address before applying for Centurion if you choose to do so. According to the CRL there can only be one seam connecting the ab and kidney plates. If you so choose to apply for Centurion your shims will need to be molded into your kidney eliminating the seam we currently see in your photos. For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. A single visible seam line is present. Reference photo Excellent work on your build Alex. Hope to see you at Centurion. -

Hi Anthony welcome to your EI review and thank you for the added or updated photos and thank you for your application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome trooper, congratulations! Very nice build on your armor David Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few areas to go over but nothing incredibly major. 1) A very common issue we see is the shoulder bell to chest & back plate gap. Optimally there should be very little gap in the area. We're suggesting you tighten the upper bell to shoulder strap. This will draw the bell closer to the cover strip and armor. Here's a reference photo 2) Kidney and ab out of alignment. Not a big deal here but your do want these to be at the same level. Minor adjustment and you're golden. Reference photo 3) The vertical ab button place return edge could stand to be trimmed down a bit. It hangs over the raised ab mount where it should be slightly undersized. Reference photo 4) Chest plate is to supposed to cover the ab plate. You'll need to tighten or add chest to ab straps to keep the chest down. Reference photo 5) Keep an eye on your back plate to kidney gap. There's supposed to be minimal clearance here. When your arms are down it's fine but when raised the gap grows. You may have to tighten the connecting straps to keep it down. 6) Posterior or butt plate should reside under the kidney. A strapping adjustment and or possibly reducing the lower posterior return edge may help as well. Here's a reference photo giving you an idea of what were looking for. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We do one area that will need to be address before applying for Centurion if you choose to do so. According to the CRL the drop boxes should be aligned with the outer edge of the ammo belt. We suggest gluing the drop box strap to the waist belt. Doing this should help hold it in place. For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Reference photo. Beautiful job on your armor build. See you at Centurion. Congrats. -
