DoopyDoo's + deac. parts = Scott's build
charlesnarles replied to charlesnarles's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Here's all my steel parts for either this Doopy or a full-steel build if I can figure out the legalities. Anyways, I'm pretty happy with what I received except for a large vertical crack in the resin handle's aft causing some rattle (I wonder how old that masking tape and cardboard tag are). The stock doesn't want to open, but everything came really dirty/greasy so hopefully its just being stubborn and isn't bent. Aaron's real pre-cut mag looks GREAT in its new home (you can even see the resin rounds peeking out, so cool!) And Michael's M38 eyepiece will really make the scope look real: -

It's about a day away now, so I thought I'd make a list of PSN account names of folks who want to play Battlefront on PS4 together. Helmet optional, but highly encouraged just for funzies My PSN ID is "charlesnarles" just like on here. Let's put FISD or 501st etc. in the request so we know to accept. See you online, troopers!

The happiness your suit conjures will surely affect its builder/wearer too; nothing more therapeutic than exercising while making people smile. Sorry to hear about all that, I applaud your positive attitude. Stress and mood disorders (sorry if that's reductive!) can feed off of each other, especially (in my experience) if caused by a lasting injury. But I hope you feel encouraged to finish ("eustress" vs "distress" distinction helps me) so you can literally take the first steps of your journey as a TK

Logically, if a mod to a small part of an H and K trigger pak can change it from semi to full-auto, and if there were lots of Sterling auto-to-semi police conversions (Mk6), then that's what I would want to do. Not a functional conversion, just the trigger pak. Then it's just a semi rifle receiver with no bolt or barrel... eh?

Very sharp compared to my ATA (which I love dearly, btw #1stbucket). Can't wait to finally start this project and see their finished helmets first-hand. Maybe someone could post the new pics next to those of the prototype? (I'll do it soon if not) -
Can't imagine not having a fan, I haven't tried it for longer than a few seconds. I'm sure that's a big factor, feeling the heat of your breath and all... Ugh I still always hyperventilate a little when I use a snorkel, but so far not in a bucket with fans

According to the amentioned NFA handbook, if you get a Sten parts kit and also have an 80% receiver (their example) then you are in possession of a machinegun and need to tell the gov't. Regardless of having a barrel or magazine, the kit itself with the receiver could be made into something that shoots more than one bullet per trigger pull = "MG." So maybe permanently removing the part of the trigger pak that interacts with the bolt would be sufficient? Not that a resin bolt or Bluetooth speaker could shoot a bullet without exploding first, let alone two in a row.. I do understand their intent, and at least they've never raised the registration fee, but at this point it'd be cheaper to just buy one finished for $450. I'll ask my profs about this one just to see what they think. A few of them are still practicing attnys. "What unmakes an MG (in CA)?"

Green stuff is supposed to bond physically, not chemically, to surfaces. It's usually compared to chewed bubble gum so it should stick and hold when sculpted directly onto the part so no glue should be necessary as long as you avoid moisture/oils and powder/dust which make it less sticky to the touch

Theyre shoveling coal into the Anovos hype train's boiler, if they show us too much, we might decide to "cancel before it ships" and be glad we dodged a $350-650 bullet. Gotta keep us on the line until BBB day. Disney Magic, that. I'm liking what they're showing, but my expectations for the completed helmet portion in particular are pretty low. ( Keep in mind that $350 divided by 40 some-odd pieces = $8.75 per formed piece) -
Fandango had some for Downtown Disney Anaheim on the 17th. I even got Three-Dee which should be fun. I'll be going as a Jedi tho!

Bluetooth speaker as bolt
charlesnarles replied to charlesnarles's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
I tested it and all you need is the BT transmitter and you can plug any audio source into the 3.5mm jack. Blaster SFX on the SW app soundboard sounded great and I think it's the same file -

Bluetooth speaker as bolt
charlesnarles replied to charlesnarles's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
No worries, I'm researching the tech for the first time too. It seems like all BT needs is a transmitter somehow connected to the sound source, and a receiver connected to a speaker. The speaker and transmitter above both have their own rechargeable batteries, so no iPhone middleman needed. For a blaster, replace the stock speaker with an audio jack plugged into the transmitter. I just woke up, but it seems like you could simply pair a BT headset with any BT speaker and not require the other person's voice which is all the phone is doing. I'll try it if I can find my headset -

And here's a cheap BT transmitter that should work fine just 6 inches away from the speaker inside the receiver pipe. This is surprisingly possible
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N1R7W9Q?vs=1 -
Bluetooth speaker as bolt
charlesnarles replied to charlesnarles's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Turns out to be the perfect diameter for a bolt, but a little too short for showing in the charging channel. Sound quality is 7/10 IMHO because while it has much more bass than an iPhone or 3/4" mini speaker that comes with the Disney blasters, the range is comparable to that of an iMac desktop's built-in speakers or a Bose all-in-one. TLDR you can hear the bass guitar/etc. but you can't really feel any vibrations. Which is all fine for a $12 1" speaker I don't have calipers so I'm eyeballing next to a ruler, but it looks like the same OD as the ridges on my DVH bolt, so it should theoretically fit in a receiver: Child-safety device on a BIC lighter is close to the right length and width for the clasp on the bolt's tip: The speaker already comes with a hole exactly wide enough to fit the BIC piece: ------------- -

Here's what I'm thinking for the board since it has an LED, three cycling blaster sounds, and the same 20 chatter files as the voice changing masks. Actual folding stock on Doopydoos kit
charlesnarles replied to longshadow's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Not noticeably tapered if at all. They're just old and stubborn! Some wd40 or maybe de-greaser might help depending on its condition (rust, dirt, oil goo). Mine came out without much effort using a hammer, a small nail and needle nosed pliers to pull it out once you can get a grip. One pin was very wet with original oil and the other had only some, btw. The hard part for me was getting the arms off the pegs! keep going at that old dirty oil until it surrenders -
Seems to be close to the dimensions of a Sterling bolt, 1.5 inches it says, with a rubber cover that might come off easily to reveal a slightly thinner metal tube maybe?.. Not sure about the length but at $12 with Prime, it's worth a try. I'm considering keeping its functionality (Bluetooth, rechargeable battery, mic) to keep it fully wireless and maybe movable, but I do want to try disassembling it and wiring it to Disney E11 guts. I'm not experienced with Bluetooth but all it'd need is the transmitter side of things elsewhere in the blaster or connected a finger PTT.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IZGWXKG/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A347YLO264GMQ1
