  1. I'm super excited to get both my TK kit and my standard officer hat in Q1. Then my TX helmet kit comes in Q2. That's not late in the context of the prop world, not to mention their dealing with an enormous licensor's demands
  2. Looks great <br> I got those power cylinders too and FYI they're a perfect use for the 3 mock fuses (aluminum rods) from T-Jay's kits. I haven't finished my mod, but it's an easy and cheap combo that has great potential imho. Keep up the good work!
  3. I read that the plastic is made in China but the soft parts are already stateside, or at least will be by the time the plastic gets there
  4. If they're too sharp, can't we just recast? And the ROTJ troopers are (arguably) closest to what Lucas thought a "real" TK would look like, not hero, stunt, or ESB, which all have Philips head screws and other hardware from our own galaxy. As for screen accuracy, Anovos might look great on late '70s film.
  5. The lopsided prototype is more from its construction than its sculpt. I agree, that photo looks like the sneak peek of the faceplate they released
  6. I'd guess they'd use nuts n bolts rather than rivets, but who knows. I hope we can separate it for painting the inside too, Bill, if they're no longer coming lined. That's how the FAQ update made it seem to me. It says "Early plans to include a lined interior on the COMPLETED ENSEMBLE were cancelled." [their emphasis lol] so I wonder if they mean completed helmets too. No mention of lining: "What is inside the helmet? The complete, ready-to-wear helmet includes an adjustable helmet suspension rig system to fit up to size 8 heads. There are no electronics included."
  7. New lenses are easy. $8 welder's mask replacement sheet
  8. Slightly updated FAQ page. Not much new other than no lining, leather holster, and it'll all ship in one box.
  9. lol sorry it's by "JJarmory" on here, in conjunction with StonyProps. There's an ongoing sale thread for them
  10. Not a remake, tho. It's textbook homage. The only continuity issue was the skywalker saber: why does it have ESB grips with ROTS brass eye instead of another graflex button? And since when does the "activation box" (graflex clamp) not turn it on? She hits the "blade length adjustment" knob to turn it on, according to the TFA visual dictionary lol. I think JJ had a MR ESB and then... a time warp opened and the emitter reverted to its 40-years-ago form
  11. I wish my iPhone would post pics, but TJ you're very much on the right track based on my own bolt, still in straight-from-the-battlefield condition dirt/oil-wise. If anything, the clearing strips themselves are fairly "silver" on mine, but you've done a great job recreating the color and finish on the lower sections. Lots of pics online, I'll also post some shortly. Keep it up!
  12. I plan to keep my a'vos as shiny as a Death Star TK, and to let my ATA weather naturally; that helmet is pretty scratched-up, and the chest plate has a nick in it, so it has potential to get promoted to a sandy. If you get an a'vos kit with a sandy build in mind, you'd want to get the helmet as a kit or at least unpainted. (Anyone ask them about doing a sandy helmet?) I'm excited to see the lining of the completed helmets and if the hardhat straps are comfortable or easily removable. So close!
  13. lol exactly why I kept one shrink-wrapped. Looks like these conversions won't be so popular
  14. D, it's no Disneyland lol but I sent you a PM about some Cirque du Soleil tickets I can't use
  15. Lucasfilm IS Disney! lol I missed the THX bass swoosh too :,(
  16. If FN = Finn, does TK = Takei? And I did see on FB someone had a handprint bucket
  17. No, I've had bigger fish to fry, as they say, but I'll be hobby-ing a lot during the winter holidays. According to others before me on here, it should work out great tho. I'd do several light coats (rather than one thick coat) until you're happy with the finish
  18. Was Zuvio even in the movie? If so, when? I don't remember him at all
  19. I liked it. My discerning gf said it was "better than the G.D. prequel trilogy" lol. She was able to "predict everything," but I wasn't really. We laughed, we cried, we cheered, and we sighed.
  20. Lots of room aesthetically for new weaponry, imho, as long as it fits in. I'd try to use greeblies and vintage/antique parts to distinguish it from the base gun, just like the prop makers did. Even then, I wouldn't walk around in public with a modded real gun nobody's seen before
  21. The officer caps still have to be reviewed by Disney, so they said the TKs will ship before them. #firstworldproblems
  22. Gah still waiting for 21 more hours! And that's the earliest showing I could find other than the red carpet premier ⏰
  23. I got my keychains today, my first official delivery with "ANOVOS" on the shipping label. Soon and very sooooon, we are goooing to see the kits
  24. lol I just got a confirmation for the keychain. I admit my heart rate spiked; the email summary on an iPhone before you open it ends right at "...for the following items:" lol they know what they're doing to us!
