(I'LL HAVE TO SPLIT THIS UP BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE PICS THAN ALLOWED PER POST) Okay. where to begin? I'll start by giving credit to EVO3 for the fantastic job on the the grappling hook itself. I also need to give credit to VacTrooper for vacuforming the box to the demension that i requested and the extra strips of plastic that were needed. THANK YOU! Here's is what i know about the grappling hook........................ There are at least 2 screen used versions. When tk421 boards the falcon you can see a toggle switch on the upper left hand side of the box. you can also see what appears to be a strip of plastic running down through the "holster ring" ------

Trimming AP using the Mold Lines
tk0000 replied to giric thren's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I use a china pencil to mark before i cut. It's a grease pencil that rubbs off. Im am mostly going by the mold lines but constantly looking at reference pics as i go mostly because the AP bicepts are exactly the same in the kit and should be mirrored so to speak so cut them a little different to match the reference pics. Some other parts are slightly different than the mold lines too. But i dont think most would ever notice. -
I joined the 501st in 2000 and one of my duaghters was a Y2K baby (Year Two K=Thousand) = YTK so..... TK0000. Although I've been dubbed Quadzero by my fellow stormtroopers.

I was at our local Dollar tree today and they had 4 racks of small medium and large black rubber gloves for a buck. They are just like the ones that came with my AP armor. Not screen accurate because they don't have the "grip" extending over the finger nails but for a buck.................????? Also i found the accurate looking gloves at Ace Hardware for $7.00

Does anyone know what the actaul width and material of the screen used stunt straps . . . . Legs , Shoulders, and bicepts restraints? Same question on the screen used hero's and promo hero's straps. The promo has very wide leg straps. I do know that much. I used 1 inch nylon for my F/X legs but i'm looking for accuracy now.................. The promo hero looks like it has elastic straps. Anyone know for sure? Also wondering about the buttox plate? and chin straps? Another question is how were they attached? Thanks Pics Welcome CAN SOMEONE CHANGE THE TITTLE TO STRAP INSTEAD OF STAP PLEASE?

It depends on you body shape too. I cut the abb and but on my FX amor and trimmed behind the knees on the thigh and calfs so they wont pinch. I must say that I've popped off an abb button while sitting down while trooping. The chest plate rubbed it and cought on it. i used chewing gum to hold it in place untill after the event. So now i always chew gum while trooping. You just never know which piece will fall appart next ........

What suspender system do you prefer????
tk0000 replied to TK-8687's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I use nylon straps and large snaps. I have an adjustable nylon belt with a plastic buckle for the waist. the leg straps tie onto it in a knot.... 2 snaps in front and 2 in back of thighs. There several snaps on the strap to make it adjustable. -
Radio Shack Newton amp
tk0000 replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
You'll need a powered mic for the radio shack mini amp. -

I have tried both ways. I ended up going with a speaker under the chest plate that will hang from a "necklace" and strap around the body. I use it for several costumes. I ripped out all the electronics (voice amp, listening device, static burst box, battery box's, headphones) except for the fans out of my tk helmet and it was soo nice and light! Even the fans and battery are one assembly that velcro into all my helmets. Haveing 3 TK's, biker, vader and fett it's just easier to not mount everything in the helmet for me. If you plan on doing more costumes keep that in mind. Also the weight of all that junk in the dome was hurting the top o my head after beeing in amor for 8+ hours a day at events, even with padding. I use a boom mic that wrapps around my ear.

I almost got one of the child size TK kits for my kids. They were really on me last night before the auction was over but i decided against it because of the recent - feedback. Keep us up to date. I may get one in the future when i see more recent + feedback and see how it turns out for you.

That would be cool. Maybe others can follow in your footsteps.

The CD or the book? No one ever PM'd me about it so figured this fizzled out.

tk0000 replied to tk0000's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Yeah ................that pic is something made up to look like the real one, but it's not accurate to the one used on screen.
