  1. Thank you Dan for the level of detail and help you bring to these forums. You are an asset to the Detachment sir.
  2. Welcome back to FISD Dave, we've been waiting for your return
  3. The main reason some kits have them like AP for example was so they gave a little more room for larger troopers. If you dont need that bit then yes, cut it off for centurion for accuracy.
  4. All good Dan, I have moved the posts into the actual CRL amendment discussion so they dont get lost or forgotten about. CRL's are always ongoing in changes so it will get addressed in the near future.
  5. Guys maybe you should have posted in the actual CRL working thread rather than this one. This CRL wont be modified again until we start work on other CRL's where I will have then all unlocked at the same time.
  6. Welcome to FISD Jessica!
  7. Looking good. Great to hear you are aiming for Centurion [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. We are currently in a restoration phase for many of the threads that suffered the Photobucket debacle a few years back. We generally leave plenty of old threads active because it is our history and there is plenty to learn about where we came from. Some threads that are completely out of date do get archived but as you can imagine, this is a massive task.. Not sure if you have access to this thread but this is where you can play a part in helping with resto and clean up efforts.
  9. Congratulations Dani, welcome to Expert Infantry and hope to see you at Centurion soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Sorry, late to the party but welcome aboard Chris.
  11. Totally agree this needed to be kept in here and not lost in the newsletter. Too much hard work went into it and it;s a fantastic part of the Detachments history in a very readable format. Thanks again Glen.
  12. I have no problems with looking at a Remnant TK CRL but as Glen mentioned we need some pretty good references to decide if it is different enough to warrant it. There was talk of the helmet looking more ANH than R1 from season 1 but when it comes to CRL's references are king. Someone has to put in the hard work and prove they are different by sharing screen caps and pointing out their findings for further discussion to start and in turn evolve. To be honest the images several post above with those sharp lines around the eyes, make that bucket look like an Anovos more then a R1 that has very soft lines in comparison plus the eye bump is far less pronounced on the R1 bucket.
  13. Great work on the eye bump [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Glen, did you do Tim's? maybe we should ask him to retrieve it
  15. Excellent, now, have you requested 501st access to these forums so you can see the merch thread? Welcome aboard
  16. Welcome aboard, look forward to your build thread.
  17. Nothing says we need cameras on but that can be up to the individual certainly. Some prefer the visual contact side, others don't. For me, I'm happy either way.
  18. Without a shadow of a doubt, size it with him for the best fit and end result. I have seen many commission builds done with just measurements and considering those vendors do them frequently, they still dont give imo the best result possible. Trim something too small and you cant go back, trim something too large and you can simply trim more off. Always size parts wearing the under suit or boots if it is shins, tape parts together as you are sizing them on the wearer and make your pencil marks for your trim lines. Trim slightly larger than you need then do another test fit and remark and go again to get it just right.
  19. Only initial ideas so far but here are some thoughts. Ideal numbers: 2 experts (one must be staff to chair the chat, can both be staff) Number of New members with questions in the live chat: (4 -6) min/max too many or to few and it gets to difficult or isn't worth the time and effort. Time Frame: based on platform used 45 minutes - 1 hour. Questions: must have your top need to know questions submitted 3 days before the event. limit of 2 questions submitted by each participant. Conversation would drive the rest of the Q and A Time zones: this is the toughest of all and would require the most planning based on country the new members were in and the staff/experts.
  20. Get him cleared, I'm sure he wants some of our awesome merch currently available
  21. So if we get enough interest for this type of thing, I'm all for it but would like to do a 1 off trial. initially. We need a benchmark to gauge ongoing viability. As has been mentioned, time zones are the real issue to overcome, but with some planning, I'm sure we can do it. I'll formulate a basic plan, choose a platform like Zoom so we can have video chat and work out a time frame. I will keep you guys posted.
  22. Congratulations and welcome to the legion. Great to see you are gunning for EI, good luck sir.
  23. This year may be the chance to get away with it. The LMO's seem satisfied to work with the action figures as long as it is not the only point of reference. Cardinal has a figure but the helmet is wrong for the era (figure shows TLJ style helmet) in reality it is an TFA style so the figure helmet is not acceptable. Cardinal also has a book with some reference images and descriptions, hence why they feel there is enough information to accurately reproduce this character costume. The Mandalorion Incinerator has screen references although not as much as we would have all liked to see, the figure in this instance would take a huge back seat to the costume and CRL and if at all, only be complimentary to it. We already have a member working towards this costume and we will co-write the CRL with him once his build is complete.
  24. Yep, I'd be asking your GML why it's taken so long 3 weeks seems a touch extended to me.
  25. Great newsletter as always everyone.
